This report describes the creation of an interactive text system for storing, retrieval and publishing of texts, ITS.My task was to create a GUI together with a database capable of handling text, commenting of texts, references between texts, and the capability to associate images with texts.After enough texts have been inserted into the database, there shall be an ability to generate a report out of them.The report describes the methods used when the GUI was implemented, how the database was modelled and implemented, and how the security aspects where solved.The entire project is created with the help of Java, MySQL server, Connector/J and OpenSSL.Furthermore the functions of the GUI and the future of ITS is described..

Abstract CORDIC (Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer) is an iterative algorithm for the calculation of a two-dimensional vector in circular, linear or hyperbolic coordinate systems. This paper presents a survey of known CORDIC algorithms and architectures for the rotation and vectoring mode in the circular cordinate system. In addition an implementation of the differential CORDIC algorithm in VHDL has been done. During spring 2001 we have been involved with our bachelor thesis at Doberman Digital Agency, an Internet related webdesign company. We have focused our work on the registration process via digital medias such as the Internet. During our workprocess we have been conducting a number of studies and analyses of workrelated materials. Ethnographical methods such as structured interviews and participant observations were primarily used in our work. We also widely used brainstorming in our designprocess.

The last couple of years the use of mobile devices such as mobile phones and PDAs has increased tremendously. Most of the these devices have their own protocols for synchronising data and this has given rise to a need for a standard synchronisation protocol, SyncML. This thesis compares this protocol against the existing ones. The comparison shows that the preferred choice is SyncML. Also an application using SyncML has been developed.

Reducing the CO2-pollution, resulting from the combustion of fossil coal for energyproduction, is important to affect environmental changes. One way to achieve a reductionis to use the oxy-fuel technology. The technology uses O2 and re-circulated flue gasduring the combustion which results in a flue gas mainly consisting of CO2. The flue gascould then be compressed and stored without environmental effects. A problem thatfollows from the compression is the risk of acidification in sensitive parts of the process.Acidification can occur because of reactions following from the contact of condensedwater and sulphur- and nitrogen-oxides which are also present in the flue gas.This report compiles and evaluates the basis of a scientific unit with the purpose ofexploring the possibilities of extracting impurities of SOx and NOx from the flue gases.The dimensions of the unit are based on basic conditions, defined for an existing oxy-fuelprocess at Chalmers, and on the results of computer modelling.

The purpose of this report is to outline the development of a dynamic Microsoft Silverlight application, which will be able to present products and be administered in a simple manner. The project has been carried out at Incordia AB, a company that specializes in e-commerce, situated in Helsingborg, Sweden. Chapter 1 defines the aim of the project and gives a general orientation about ground heat extractors. In chapter 2 physical processes that could be expected to be involved in the heat transport around a ground heat exchanger are discussed. It is shown from a literature study what amount of moisture transport due to thermal gradients there could be expected in a ground heat exchanger. The conclusion is drawn that the moisture gradient (Sr) is of same magnitude as the driving temperature gradient (°C). At the expected amount of increased moisture around the pipes the moisture transport could be considered to have a little effect on the brine temperature.

In recent years many cities have seen an increase in bicycle traffic. This is a development that benefits both the environment and the individual cyclist. When the need for bicycle parking is not met several problems arise such as an increase in bicycle thefts, jammed sidewalks and a decreased interest in using bicycles. My aim with this paper has been to answer the question of how to create parking facilities in an urban environment based on cyclists' needs. Through a literature survey, following the method "Trattmodellen" (the funnel model) the question has been answered and divided under the headings cyclist, bike, bicycle racks, bicycle garage and bicycle operators and hosts.

Dagen samhälle är sårbarare än man ibland kan ana. Överbelastningsattacker är attacker mot ett specifikt nätverk, och syftet är att göra dess tjänster otillgängliga för legitima användare. Detta är något som sker varje dag mot företag runtom i världen, och inte minst i Sverige. Media har på senare tid uppmärksammat problemet sedan det blivit allt vanligare och vanligare bland företagen. Syftet med detta arbete är dels att få bättre förståelse om överbelastningsattacker är något som prioriteras eller inte, men även att få företagen uppmärksammade på vilka olika skydd som finns att tillgå mot överbelastningsattacker, samt att vi vill få företagen att verkligen tänka på vilka hot som finns där ute. Vårt mål med denna uppsats är att ta reda på vilka befintliga skydd företag i Sverige använder sig utav för tillfället samt vilka skydd de kan och bör använda sig utav. För att nå detta mål har vi genomfört kvalitativa intervjuer med företag som bedriver en stor del av sin försäljning, eller tillhandahållande av tjänster, över Internet. Detta har gjort att vi kommit fram till att företagen visserligen visst har skydd mot överbelastningsattacker och använder sig utav dem, men bör också se till vilka andra skydd som finns tillgängliga för dem och kan fungera bättre för just dem. Det finns som sagt bra skydd mot överbelastningsattacker, men det gäller att veta hur de fungerar och att använda dem på rätt sätt för att kunna utnyttja dem ordentligt. Vi tror, och hoppas, att detta arbete kommer att kunna hjälpa företagen i framtiden att lättare kunna stå emot överbelastningsattacker, och det är våran förhoppning att denna uppsats kommer att komma till nytta och tjäna sitt syfte..

Sammanfattning Fel i programvara (buggar) kostar ofantliga summor varje år. I detta arbete presenteras en metod där programexekveringsmiljön utan vare sig programmerarens eller användarens inblandning utförligt kan rapportera och dölja effekterna av en avsevärd andel buggar. Genom att kompilatorn eller tolken tillåter att en och samma procedur implementeras hur många gånger som helst införs ett helt automatiskt stöd för N-Version Programming (NVP) omedelbart i programspråket. Tekniken gör programvaran feltolerant och blir ett komplement till kostsam och ofta bristfällig testning. En tolk utvecklades för ett programspråk som tillåter multipla definitioner av procedurer. Därmed har det inbyggt stöd för feltolerans genom redundans på procedurnivå. Ett experiment genomfördes där nio programmerare oberoende av varandra implementerade 12 utförligt specificerade procedurer.

When investigating mechanical problems it is often more convenient to deal with scalars rather than vectors. In this project methods stemming from the field of analytical mechanics, which lets one derive the equations of motion using scalar quantities instead of vectors, have been used. Two mechanical problems were investigated, a double pendulum with a spring and particles orbit in a sphere. The equations of motion of the two systems were derived with the assistance of computer algebra, using Maple and the external package Sophia. Allteftersom forskningen inom Human Computer interaction (HCI) fortskrider konstrueras det allt fler innovativa sätt att interagera med spelkonsoller. Då fler sätt att interagera med spelkonsoller utvecklas förbättras även förutsättningarna för spelbranschen att öka interaktionen i spelen. Den senaste generationen av spelkonsoller har kommit fram med egna lösningar och innovativa sätt att öka spelupplevelsen och interaktionen. Nintendo Wii har t.ex. en rörelsesensor som reagerar på rörelserna av handkontrollen, och Xbox Kinect reagerar med hjälp av en kamera som läser av kroppens rörelser och Playstation Move reagerar på en kombination av en kamera och en kontroll med sensorer. Handkontrollens design har inte förändrats mycket under de senaste konsol-generationerna om man bortser från Nintendo Wii som formade sin kontroll som en stav.
