Ventilhus för salivsug i dentalutrustning
The purpose of this work is to find out if the suctionvalve to the
salivaejector for dental equipment in a simple way can be improved or if a new
design is needed. The result of the examination of the suctionvalve shows that
the friction between the piston and the seal is high and that this causes the
valve in a few cases sheaves. The study concluded that only small changes in
material or detail, improve the component..
Analytisk mekanik med datoralgebra
In this project we have used the theory of analytical mechanics to derive equations of motion for complex mechanical systems in order to study their behaviour over time. Even if the theory provides powerful tools to tackle tough problems which would be very hard to solve by methods of Newtonian mechanics, you are still relatively limited without running any computer simulations. One realises that in a faster rate it will be an incredibly difficult task to find an analytical solution when the degrees of freedom increases. Even if one would succeed to derive the equations, one still has to solve them to get the information of the systems behavior. Of experience one knows that the equations in general are nonlinear and hence must be integrated numericaly.
Science fiction i spelutveckling
Detta kandidatarbete undersöker science fiction, en av de större och vanligast använda genrerna inom medier såsom spel, film och litteratur, genom att studera dess undergrupper, de så kallade subgenrerna. Dessa är specialiserade versioner av genren i fråga och använder den inom vissa förutsatta ramar, exempelvis hur samhället ser ut eller vilken typ av teknologi det huvudsakliga fokuset kretsar runt. Genom att studera hur subgenrer är beskrivna i The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction kan man avgöra att de består av sex punkter: plats, tidsperiod, karaktärer, teknologi, narrativ och visuell estetik. Dessa punkter har använts som ramverk för att utveckla en ny subgenre; Mystech, där scenarier utspelar sig i vad som kan ses som en typisk fantasyvärld med magi och monster, men där dessa egentligen bara är teknologi majoriteten av de påverkade inte förstår sig på. För att demonstrera Mystech har två olika miljöer utvecklats, både i bild och skriven form.
Valet av grafiskt dokumentgränssnitt
Grafiska dokumentgränssnitt används av de flesta datoranvändare. Det finns i
huvudsak tre typer av dokumentgränssnitt; MDI (multiple document interface),
SDI (single document interface) och TDI (tabbed document interface). I ena
halvan av arbetet har dessa tre analyserats utifrån en rad faktorer med målet
att se om någon modells fördelar väger över de andras och om man kan skapa
några riktlinjer för när det är bäst att applicera respektive modell när man
utvecklar en ny programvara. Analysen är baserad på litteratur samt kvalitativ
enkätundersökning och programtest. Andra delen av arbetet har ägnats åt testa
om det går att programmera så att slutanvändaren kan välja den modell han eller
hon föredrar.
3D-visualisering till Eve
Vi har under tio veckor producerat en del av Peter Martinssons film Eve. Vi har
stått bakom en stor del av den tekniska biten. Vi har inte deltagit något i
idéarbetet och idén bakom filmen, däremot har vi påverkat det visuella
resultatet genom att göra stora delar av bakgrundsmaterialet. På så sätt har
våra idéer och vår konst fått en stor del i filmen.
Genom detta arbete har vi velat utveckla våra kunskaper främst i programmet
AliasWavefront Maya, men även rent estetiskt. Målet med arbetet var inte att
bli klara med filmen, utan att lära oss av produktionsprocessen.
Vi har varit tvungna att anpassa oss i vårt arbete till det speciella utseendet
som filmen har.
Flödesapplikation - företagsbaserad utbildningsmodell på Internet
Intern företagsutbildning via e-learning är ett aktuellt ämne, framförallt eftersom företagen ser det som en chans att bli effektivare och spara pengar. Av de fretagsanpassade utbildningsapplikationer som finns på marknaden idag, är nästan samtliga skapta för att förklara fr användarna (kursdeltagarna) hur saker och ting ska fungera. Deras stora svaghet ligger dock i att förklara och förmedla varför dessa saker fungerar, varpå man riskerar att misslyckas med att förmedla en djupare förståelse och skapa en bättre kunskapsbas. Därför finns det troligen många anställda på företag som har fått lära sig hur allt runt om kring dem fungerar, men inte varför det nu fungerar som det gör. Denna examensrapport redogör för vårt arbete med att ta fram en webbaserad applikationsmodell, utvecklad i Adobe Flash, tilltänkt för utbildning, och som på ett enkelt men effektivt sätt synliggör hur olika typer av företagsflöden fungerar och, framförallt, varför de fungerar på detta sätt.

Facilitated by the breakthrough of the internet, new ways of organizing internet-based projects that harness the power of the crowds are becoming increasingly common. Today there are ways of using the crowd as paid labour, as funders of your new project ventures and even for helping scientists doing science. Staying true to its traditional principles of objectivity and trustworthiness while asking the crowd to contribute, crowd generated ?Citizen Science? does not provide even the slightest amount of pay in exchange for the time and effort put in by their contributors. Surely there can not be many people willing to do such a thing voluntarily? Actually, practice is showing the exact opposite with contributions counted in their millions among the more popular Citizen Science projects.

In Sweden there is a long ongoing discussion about computer and cellphone usage during lectures in school. The discussion has mainly covered elementary school up to college students, but this topic is at least as relevant for university students. Today cellphones are so advanced; you can do everything with one that you previously only could do with a computer, the difference is that everyone is carrying one with them all the time. This study shows how concentration during lectures is affected by the cellphone accessibility and usage. With this study we want to find out how university students perceive cellphone usage affects their own concentration during lectures.

The focus of this work is to study whether public libraries should offer their patrons unlimited access to the Internet, or restrict which sites they can visit. The most common tool used to limit Internet access is filtering software. The author has administered four interviews with public librarians working in libraries in Southern Sweden. All four librarians had different opinions about restricting Internet access. The most important question asked was if they had chosen to use filtering, and the reasons for their decision.

Cupsystemet - En kvalitativ fallstudie av en mobil webbtjänst
The thesis describes the following main question:
Will the administrative labour during football tournaments be made easier with
the help from a mobile web service or will it convey to unnecessary extra work?
To be able to give a good and qualified answer to this question, the thesis
will in
the beginning describe how the technique for such a system might look like and
also describe the existing administrative moments during a football tournament,
this is too give the reader a deeper understanding for further reading. The
thesis
then goes on to describe a concrete system which is tested on three football
tournaments. On the basis of the tests, interviews and through analysis of these
the thesis will be able to answer our questions.
The result which we present in the thesis have unfolded through testing of the
system on three chosen football tournaments. The differences in way of labour
pre and post the system have been analyzed and through interviews the value
of these changes have been assessed.
The results achieved in the thesis are as follows, the presented mobile web
service does not only decrease the total work effort made by the tournament
officials it also speeds up their work.
Sveplaserns användning till inventering/befästning/kontroll av vägmarkering
The thesis mission is to investigate whether the swiveling laser that Vectura (former Vägverket Konsult) has in use to measure the road areas and straddle measuring can be used to detect differences in the reflective road markings function. This is to increase use of the swiveling laser and get rid of the manual measurements performed today.Currently, the measurement of road markings reflective function is performed with both mobile and handheld measuring instruments. The purpose of this thesis is to develop better methods for determination of road markings? reflective function, in order to facilitate the description and suggestions for improvements of the maintenance of road markings reflective function.The questions that the thesis has been to start with are:Can the swiveling laser detect differences in longitudinal and transverse road markings reflective function?The accuracy of measurement has been sweeping the laser over the reference instrument (LTL-2000)Is it necessary with a conversion factor for swiveling laser data against the reference instrument data?To answer the question 2 and 3, there has been a field work in Värnamo where a road stretch with longitudinal road markings and zebra crossing (transverse road markings) has been investigated with a swiveling laser and LTL-2000.The formulas and calculations contained in the thesis are drawn from scientific reports that are produced by VTI in Linköping. The same formula that was used to calculate the optical measurement data was also used for the swiveling laser data.
Konstruktion av Industriellt Vibrationsmätningssystem med signalbehandling baserad på Digitala Vågfilter av Lattice-struktur
In this bachelor thesis a complete prototype of an industrial vibration measurement platform has been developed. By measuring a number of variables such as acceleration, temperature and speed conclusions can be drawn on machinery health. The aim is to evaluate hardware and software solutions for a possible future product. Based on a requirement specification a proper hardware design has be developed. The hardware consists of a four-layer PCB with an ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller and about 250 other components. The PCB was designed, assembled, tested and finally housed in a box.
