Complex Vertebral Malformation (CVM) is an autosomal recessive inherited defect in the Holstein breed. The defect has lead to structurally malformed calves and losses of pregnancies. To determine the effect of CVM on fertility in the Swedish Holstein Breed 375 Holstein bulls used in breeding by Svensk Avel and Skånesemin were assigned to this study. 228 bulls matched the criteria of birth year, 1995-1999, > 75 inseminations and a known CVM-status. Of the total 228 bulls 53 of them were CVM-carriers and 175 were non-carriers. The SAS-programme was used to determine the effects of CVM-status, the bull?s father and birth year on Non-return rates (NRR) for 28, 56 and 168 days.

The use of mindfulness in healthcare is increasing in Sweden. A so-called secular form of mindfulness is also increasing within mediated contemporary psychology and is used in many areas such as schools, workplaces and when giving birth. The method originates from Buddhism and is much more complex than the form of mindfulness marketed in Sweden today. The religious heritage of mindfulness is interesting to study in such a secular society as Sweden, where the material for this study is found. The aim of this study is therefore to investigate whether mindfulness still is a form of religious coping or if it has become completely secularized, and thus free of its religious origin.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att beskriva hur män och kvinnor upplever den traumatiska händelsen och utvecklandet av posttraumatiskt stress syndrom.Litteraturstudien baseras på nio vetenskapliga artiklar från olika traumatiska händelser där män och kvinnor var inblandade. Resultaten analyseras och resulterar i fyra teman. Dessa teman är känslomässiga upplevelser (affektiva), beteendeförändringar, existentiella/sociala upplevelser och psykofysiologiska upplevelser. Det man kan konstatera är att dessa individer har en sänkt livskvalitet och problem i sitt dagliga.

It examines the narration and the use of music as a narrative device to discuss questions about identification and perception through close textual analysis. The purpose of this study was to, by using thematic analysis, investigate how psychologists experience and are affected by treating sexually assaulted individuals, if and how they use different coping strategies to maintain their own wellbeing and how they are affected by the organization. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight psychologists working in a clinic dedicated for patients with history of sexual assault. The analysis identified one general theme and four themes. The general theme Consciousness and active choices minted the other themes. Participants' awareness of their own and colleagues? health supplied conditions for inner reflection, which along with concern for potential negative effects resulted in active choices for mental health and work environment.

What's missing for Lund Municipality is routine to fall back on in order to streamline the management when they get into these complex situations.Given that Lund treat so many systems make it so that the situation quickly becomes very complex due of the organization's structure. The municipality is divided into twelve departments that have their own goals, it is an organization that is organized, which makes creating standards become complicated when all departments have different needs. Our study was based on a framework that deals with complex environments that lack a clear definition.An analysis was conducted where we started from the theory associated with the interviews conducted in which we aimed to understand their decision and understand the processes that affect system development.

The thesis is also aimed at providing the reader with a deeper understanding of how developing consulting companies can tackle the specific challenges facing them. In order to meet the purpose of the thesis, we have applied relevant theories to a generic strategy model in order to develop a model that is applicable for the management consulting industry.

Då hästar är flyktdjur och bytesdjur och vanligen hålls i miljöer som är långt ifrån deras naturliga, uppstår ofta situationer som kan upplevas som stressande för hästen. Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka om hästars ras och grundpersonlighet har inverkan på hur stressbenägna de blir, samt även se om hästar kan drabbas av posttraumatiskt stressyndrom (PTSD). Arbetet syftade dessutom till att undersöka om det finns någon träningsmetod som visat sig ha bättre eller sämre effekt gällande hästar och rädslor, samt vilken effekt feromoner har hos hästar i de sammanhang där hästar utsätts för situationer som är stressande för dem. Stress kan påverka både individens fysiologi och beteende. Studier har visat att hästar som hade olika typer av skador eller sjukdomar hade förändrade nivåer av kortisol, ACTH, serotonin och adrenalin, jämfört med en frisk kontrollgrupp.

In this essay dog as a compatible model were put against human. The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) genes were compared between dogs, human, cat and mouse. To evaluate dog as a model and study similarities and differences was the aim with this review. Dog as a model contributes to understand mechanisms behind autoimmune diseases and showed clearly histological similarities between human and dogs concerning the skin disease mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP)/cicatricial pemphgioid (CP). Further genetic evidence motivated the choice of using dog as a comprehensive model when the MHC-complex correlated with hypothyroiditis in Doberman dog as it does in human. Physiological similarities with low levels of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) together with high level of thyroid releasing hormone (TSH) were found in the same way as in human.

SammanfattningStressrelaterad psykisk ohälsa såsom utmattningssyndrom, är en komplex problematik som varit mycket omdebatterad. Åtskilligt är publicerat i ämnet, men bara ett fåtal studier finns där personer med utmattningssyndrom själva fått möjligheten att beskriva orsakssambanden. Olika förklaringsmodeller och perspektiv beskrivs i litteraturen, men den rådande uppfattningen om varför människor drabbas utgår ofta från ett arbetsrelaterat perspektiv. Vi ville utforska om den rådande föreställning i ämnet stämmer överens med den uppfattning människor som drabbats av utmattningssyndrom har om orsakerna till symtomen. Vår ansats var även att undersöka om det kan finnas fler eller andra orsakssamband till utmattningsprocessen. Vårt syfte med studien är; dels undersöka hur individer med utmattningssyndrom upplever vilka orsaker som är av betydelse för utmattningsprocessen, dels försöka beskriva och analysera dessa utsagor i ett vidare perspektiv. Till studien valdes en kvalitativ metod och data samlades in med hjälp av intervjuer utifrån specifika forskarfrågor.

This essay takes its starting point in the making of a new national general school curriculum for the Swedish elementary school. The purpose of this essay is to estimate what the policy makers intended with the new policy documents and relate that to how a few teachers perceive these changes. In order to get an understanding of how the teachers view these changes I have done qualitative interviews with four teachers which all work in the Swedish elementary school.Theories on "implementation" and "street-level bureaucracy" are used to analyse my empirical material. My results tell that there is a difference how teachers relate to the new curruculum and the policy makers' intentions with it. That can be explained by the fact that teachers' work is complex and as to they work in a complex organization..
