Andrej Belyjs bok Petersburg är en av de viktigaste romanerna från den symbolistiska perioden i rysk litteratur. I denna uppsats utreds hur gränser behandlas i romanen. Även om romanen till en början tycks dra upp klara gränser, till exempel mellan öst och väst, så löses dessa upp och en osäkerhet skapas hos läsaren. Gränserna som undersöks i uppsatsen omfattar såväl gränser i själva berättandet (till exempel mellan berättare och karaktärer och mellan nutid och dåtid) som gränser i berättelsen; det senare indelat i rumsliga gränser och gränser för det levande. Slutsatsen blir att Belyj medvetet löser upp gränserna i romanen på flera plan..

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how students relates to and perceives the schoolswork with the value base. To answer my purpose has been two studies conducted. The first study aimed at finding out students' perceptions regarding the content and concretization of the value base and on their perceptions of participation and retention of this work. This study was conducted using a questionnaire survey.The second study has aimed to highlight the approach embodied by the schools' plans and treatment plans. This sudy has been conducted trough a review of policy documents available on the websites of education departments, municipalities and schools.

I uppsatsen undersöks vilka likheter och skillnader som finns mellan Sveriges, Danmarks, Finlands och Norges skolsystem avseende främmande språk och dess plats och funktion i skolsystemet. Undersökningen handlar om likheter och skillnader inom fyra områden: hur skolsystemen ser ut, vilka språk som läses i skolorna, på vilken skolnivå som språkstudierna påbörjas samt vilka yttre styrmedel som används för att främja språkstudier. Undersökningen är av kvalitativ art och baseras på texter som finns tillgängliga på Internet. Skolsystemen i de fyra länderna är likartade, både i fråga om antal år samt indelningen i skolformer. Engelskan intar en särställning i alla länderna och är obligatoriskt i alla undersökta länder.

Denna studie behandlar ämnet åldrande finska krigsbarn. Dessa barn förflyttades i unga åldrar till Sverige på 1940- talet. Då krigets intensitet i Finland kom att växla blev dessa barn förflyttade fram och tillbaka mellan länderna med en eller ett par års intervaller. Detta påverkade av förklarliga skäl deras sociala trygghet och utveckling under resten av livet. Syftet med denna studie har varit att ta reda på om huruvida gruppen åldrande finska krigsbarn är i behov av särskilda insatser eller särskilda kunskaper hos socialarbetare i bemötandet av denna grupp.Studien utgår ifrån en fenomenologisk forskningsansats av induktiv karaktär. I studien genomfördes sex kvalitativa intervjuer med personer som har denna bakgrund.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis studies is to examine how information seeking is taught from a pedagogical and didactic perspective. The questions at issue are:? What is the content in information seeking education?? What aims are focused in information seeking education?? What methods are used in information seeking education? The methods being used are empirical studies and studies of literature, within the subject area. The study is inspired by phenomenographical learning theories.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att undersöka hur äldre kvinnor upplever urininkontinens (UI). UI är vanlig hos äldre kvinnor. Antalet äldre inkontinenta kvinnor väntas öka väsentligt fram till 2050. Det är känt att UI-symtomen brukar förvärras med stigande ålder. Fast UI kan vara ett allvarligt problem tycks många kvinnor tolerera och acceptera det förvånansvärt väl.

This final thesis was performed at Ericsson in Gävle between April and June of 2008. Ericsson is a world leading manufacturer of radio base stations (RBS), which handles mobile phone traffic with 2G and 3G technology. The main purpose of this study is to examine if two different types of products (RBS and site material) should have different terms and conditions, today the terms and conditions are the same for both types. During the course of our study we have tried to think of the terms reliability, validity and generalization. The intention in doing that was to keep the thesis at a high academic level. To name an example of this we have tried to keep our minds at an objective level during the interviews and informal conversations.

Banks find themselves at a highly competitive market where it is important to achieve high customer satisfaction if they want to attract customers and stay competitive. Some studies suggest that the gap between customer expectations and perception within the five quality dimensions influences the customer satisfaction. With SERVQUAL the authors of this thesis have investigated the suggested relationship and have discovered no indications of a relationship between the gap and customer satisfaction. Instead the results indicate that there is a relationship between perceived service and customer satisfaction. The thesis also indicates that the most important quality dimension for the bank customer is reliability.

AimThe aim of this study was to find out how the research that has changed CPR training developed from a historical perspective. The question at issue was: When the recommendations for chest compressions/ventilation, defibrillator and education have been changed, what kind of research led to the development?MethodTo fulfill the aim of this study we chose a review process. First we read the international guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) published by the American Heart Association (AHA), from year 1980 until year 2010. Secondly we chose the most important changes that had been made within the issues we had selected, then we examined the research that had supported these issues.

Castration of dogs holds many reasons and opinions, therefore methods, traditions and rea-sons vary. The approaches have during time changed from mostly surgical castrations to also including hormonal treatments. Castration is used to control the dog's reproductive abilities, for medical reasons and to possibly rectify problems of behavioral nature. How common a particular method of castration is in a country is highly dependent on the country's traditions. In Sweden it is most common with castration for medical reasons, such as possible elimina-tion of diseases, for example, benign colorectal tumors.

This paper is about the use of task boards in agile system development projects. The main focus is on how digitalized versions of the task board can be of assistance during the development process. Our investigation is based on qualitative studies, with system developers of various backgrounds and professional roles, along with studies of relevant literature. The main results are that a digitized version of the task board can increase awareness for the team and be of major importance if it is accessible through the web. On the other hand negative effects of the digitalization can emerge as well.

Neurography is the most objective and reliable measure of the peripheral nerve function, and it is used to diagnose both local and generalized neuropathies. Neurography can measure both motor and sensory nerve functions. The principle for sensory neurgraphy is to stimulate over the nerve and record proximal or distal from the stimulated electrode.At the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, University Hospital Uppsala, a problem has been identified, in that young adult patients tend to show unexpected abnormal neurography values in relation to the expected, indicated by the reference limits, without clinical correlates. This concerns foremost the sensory amplitudes in median and ulnar nerves. The hypothesis is that the requirement of young adults? amplitudes is too high.

The thesis focus on how organizations can improve the ability of absorbing coworkers ideas in purpose of gaining long term competitive advantage through innovations. The study was conducted at IKEA AB where a campaign to collect coworkers ideas was a big success given the quantity of ideas collected. This fact allows a comparative analysis of idea management in the shape of campaigns and in comparison, idea management in the everyday line-organization.The analysis show that fundamental factors for innovative environments such as organizational climate, culture and leadership perceives auspiciously by the respondents. However, lack of infrastructure such as systems and processes hinders coworkers ambitions to contribute with ideas.An important issue in idea management is the treatment of incentives for innovation. Results of the study show that the ?soft? incentives ?feedback, encouragement and attention have a higher impact in coworkers willingness to the contribution of ideas than for instance monetary rewards..

How affected are the sugar production in Mozambique and Tanzania by EU sugar regime? What does the EU sugar reform constitute in these countries?Using theories regarding free trade and anti-free trade, I am able to answer these questions. The aim of this paper is to study how the various sugar agreements with EU affect the sugar production in Mozambique and Tanzania. Therefore I am using a method called a most similar system design in this comparative case study. The conclusion is that the EU sugar regime is the main reason to how the sugar productions in developing countries are.
