Hästar riskerar att drabbas av endotoxinemi framförallt vid olika typer av kolik men även vid andra sjukdomstillstånd. Stressen och inflammationen som uppstår vid endotoxinemi, liksom vid vissa andra typer av akuta skador eller allvarliga sjukdomstillstånd, kan leda till utvecklandet av insulinresistens, glukosintolerans och hyperglykemi. Dessa metaboliska rubbningar är i sig skadliga och inom humanvården behandlas intensivvårdspatienter vid behov med insulin för att förbättra tillfrisknande och överlevnad.För att inhämta mer kunskap om de metaboliska rubbningarna, som sker hos hästar med endotoxinemi gjorde vi en prospektiv experimentell försöksstudie av hästar som infunderades med endotoxin och provtogs för analys av serumglukos och plasmainsulin. De 8 hästarna som användes i försöket infunderades med Escherichia coli endotoxin (SigmaAlderich L5418, O55:B5) i en total dos på 500 ng/kg kroppsvikt under 6 timmar. Provtagning och analys av glukos och insulin skedde från och med ett dygn innan endotoxininfusionen och upp till 36 timmar efter dess start.

We have been able to draw some conclusions based on our research. First we haveconsidered that the publisher is dependent on a large network and to work closelywith their customers. We can see that the competition in the music industry hasgenerally increased, the technological progress has created new opportunities, and asa result of this, new players have joined the music industry. We have been able todraw conclusions in the fact that more companies and songwriters start up their ownpublishing company, resulting in an increased competition for the individualpublisher.We can also see as a final result that music is used in lots of different contexts andthat the publishers thereby are offered a wide range of business opportunities, but thatthe solvency of the customers has become lower. With this knowledge, we canconclude that the publisher?s power and revenues will increase, and that the publisheras an actor has been given a more important role in the industry.

The number of ideas at innovative companies usually exceeds the amount of available human ormaterial recourses, this include ideas for development of new products. Since they are not able to doeverything they want to do they have to choose between ideas to develop new products. This includesthe decision on when to start, stop or kill a project as well as the thought process of prioritizing betweenongoing and potential projects.Project Portfolio Management (PPM) is an organizational process, with the purpose of systematicallyorganizing and running the activities that aim to evaluate, select and prioritize ideas and projects fordeveloping new products. PPM include four major goals to be fulfilled; Maximizing Value of thePortfolio, Achieving a Balanced Portfolio, Achieving a Strategic Alignment and Running the RightNumber of Projects.The purpose of the thesis was to develop a more visual and formal PPM process for the early stages inproduct development in one department at St Jude Medical AB, Sweden.The thesis was conducted by following a methodology known as Process Modules. The methodology isan approach for developing a PPM process that fits a specific company.

We performed our thesis at SCA Hygiene Products in Falkenberg. Our task has been to present a suggestion for a solution of the packing of giveaways that the company uses.In the current situation the work is performed manually, and the company wants to automate the process. In the following report, we present the different solutions that we have developed in our definite model. It includes a picking solution, a shaking table and trays. The product choices we have made are based on existing solutions.To help, we have used Fredy Olsson's books in principle and primary structure.

In order to suggest improvements for the logistics of STARKA, we felt that we had to analyze all the activities which were related to STARKA's logistic processes. Our primary analysis consisted of a rough but comprehensive description of different functions in the company, and the relationship between them. This was performed by following a typical order through the company to see which functions were affected by the order.Since we needed a more thorough view of the company, we decided to analyze the different products STARKA currently has on the market, focusing on economic data such as turn-over, profit, profit margin, deficiency cost and cost of warehousing. We also analyzed the company's choice of manufacturing processes, organization, warehousing processes, strengths and weaknesses.These analyses gave us a clear understanding of the company and its processes. STARKA is a small, function oriented company with a wide range of products.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva och jämföra tandvårdsrädsla och attityder till tandhygienist vid studiens start samt 3 månader efter icke kirurgisk parodontalbehandling hos patienter med kronisk parodontit samt att beskriva hur olika bakgrundsfaktorer påverkar tandvårdsrädsla och attityder till tandhygienist. Ett ytterligare syfte var att studera sambandet mellan attityder till tandhygienist och tandvårdsrädsla. Studien var en jämförande studie med kvantitativ ansats och en del i en större experimentell studie med två aktiva interventioner för att påverka munhygienbeteende. Studien innefattade 109 studiedeltagare, 57 kvinnor och 52 män i åldrarna 25-65 år som var remitterade till specialistklinik för parodontologi. Frågeformuläret som användes gällande tandvårdsrädsla var Dental Anxiety Scale (DAS) med 4 påståenden avseende upplevelser för att besöka tandhygienist.

One purpose of our study was to investigate if equality in work time and parental leave in a relationship affect the time that parents spend with their children. Our first hypothesis was that increased equality in work time and parental leave leads to a reduction of the parents? total time with their children, ie the children spend more hours in pre-school and begin pre-school earlier. In order to test our hypothesis, we investigated the relationship between the woman?s and the man?s work time and parental leave and the time that the children spend in pre-school as well as at what age they began pre-school by using two surveys.Our study showed a significant coherence between both working women?s work time and the children?s time in pre-school as well as women?s parental leave and the children?s age at start in pre-school.

High technology companies in Sweden spend a huge amount of money on research and product development in proportion to what they get back in earnings from their inventions. Product development has traditionally been regarded as much more important than business development. This thesis aims to point out the critical factors behind successful business development processes for high technology companies. We have chosen to make a case study of Hexagon, a highly successful and innovative company within the measurement technology business. Internal and external actors that are important for business development have been identified and interviewed in order to understand how ideas are developed and executed.

The system also needed to prevent mistakesand errors by managing orders and invoices.The system has been created with the company?s requests in focus. During thedevelopment of the system information security and interaction design have beenimportant aspects that have been taken into consideration.The system has been created using techniques such as PHP and MYSQL.

Den svenska skogsindustrin står inför en rad utmaningar inom den närmaste framtiden. Bioteknik anses kunna skapa en rad konkurrensfördelar åt svenska skogsindustriföretag för att möta dessa utmaningar. I denna kandidatuppsats jämförs de två företagsformerna start-up företag och storföretag för att undersöka i vilken organisationsform som bioteknik har störst sannolikhet att lyckas kommersialiseras inom. Företagsformerna jämförs genom att studera tre dimensioner, vilka uppfattats som särskilt viktiga i det teoretiska ramverk som sammanställts i uppsatsen: betydelsen av entreprenören, kunskapen och teknologin. Resultatet visar att den viktigaste förutsättningen för en lyckad innovationsprocess är en entreprenör som har en stor drivkraft och vision, samt en stor villighet att ta risker.

Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to study the importance of having a website for traditional service companies as well as the factors that might influence its importance. This is done by answering three research questions that all contribute to the answer of the main purpose. A qualitative study has been performed including eight interviews with respondents from eight different service companies presenting four different types of businesses. The empirical findings of the study are analyzed with the help of the theoretical frame of references in order to identify the most interesting conclusions. The results of the thesis state that the main purpose of the website among the studied companies is to rationalize and save costs.

Using interviews to investigate if and how stock analysts and corporate finance professionals valuate a company?s CSR initiatives.Theoretical perspective: The description of CSR is leading to the main theory, The Brand Value Change, and the Market Hypothesis. Additionally a theory of the Consumer Buying Process and CAPM-model about financial risks is presented.Method: An event study of 30 companies to investigate if there is any change in their stock values and interviews with three professionals from the financial sector to find out about their attitude to CSR.
