Chapter 1 defines the aim of the project and gives a general orientation about ground heat extractors. In chapter 2 physical processes that could be expected to be involved in the heat transport around a ground heat exchanger are discussed. It is shown from a literature study what amount of moisture transport due to thermal gradients there could be expected in a ground heat exchanger. The conclusion is drawn that the moisture gradient (Sr) is of same magnitude as the driving temperature gradient (°C). At the expected amount of increased moisture around the pipes the moisture transport could be considered to have a little effect on the brine temperature.

This thesis describes the universalization, improvement and further development of aCompact crane support frame for flatbed trucks. The work has been conducted at Eloch Fordonsteknik AB (henceforth EFAB) in Uppsala.The aim of the work has been to shorten the assembly time of the product. By doingso, the product can be kept on shelf, which in turn results in shorter lead time. Thishas been done by universalizing the support frame to be compatible with most of thechassis EFAB works with. Additionally, the entire construction has been made lighter,which will make it a more attractive choice for customers.A pre-study was conducted and information was gathered internally, as well asexternally, in order to ascertain that no limitation or possibility was overlookedduring the course of the project.One such limitation has been the geometry of the truck bed that the support frameshall be compatible with.

Allt fler bor på en liten yta av olika orsaker. Vanligast är det bland unga vilket kan leda till att boendet blir väldigt trångt. Compact Living är ett begrepp inom inredning som syftar på att effektivisera boendet utan att hemtrevnaden blir lidande för bostadens yta. Ur ett Compact Living perspektiv och dagens trender har olika kreativa koncept tagits fram.En förklaring till att trång­boddhet är vanligast bland yngre är att unga i större utsträckning studerar, eller just kommit in på arbets­marknaden, och därför inte har ekonomiska förut­sättningar för att köpa eller hyra en större bostad. Att många yngre räknas som trång­bodda då de bor i ett student­rum eller i en en­rums­lägenhet är kanske heller inte att betrakta som något problem, utan en naturlig fas i livet.Utifrån ett identifierat problem av produktutvecklingsföretaget PlusFunction har vi gemensamt tagit fram ett examensarbete med syfte att utveckla ett koncept på ett nattygsbord.

CSR har kommit att bli centralt i många företags strategier. Vissa akademiker hävdar att företag söker sig till intresseorganisationer som arbetar med CSR för att förbättra sitt CSR-arbete medan andra påstår att det endast är ett sätt att framhäva sitt företag i ett positivt ljus. Till skillnad från de många artiklar som skrivits om vad företag kan vinna på medlemskap i intresseorganisationer fokuserar denna uppsats istället likt Knudsen (2011) på vilka företag som har något att vinna på engagemang i intresseorganisationen The Global Compact. Undersökningen utgår från Knudsens påståenden och prövar om dessa stämmer för svenska företag, via intervjuer med fyra företag av varierande storlek. Våra resultat pekar mot att påståendena i huvudsak stämmer men att de bakomliggande orsakerna varierar när man jämför vår geografiska begränsning mot Knudsens mer globala fokus.

Everyday life mobility of elderly people ? opportunities, restrictions and sustainable urban visions aim to examine and describe elderly people?s movement patterns, their opportunities and restrictions of reaching high mobility and accessibility, and their attitude towards various sustainable urban visions. This paper is based on an approach of time-space geography as it covers the topic of movements in time-space, explained and developed using the concepts of mobility and accessibility. To examine elderly people?s attitude towards sustainable urban visions, this paper also takes approach on theories such as New Urbanism, mixed-use and the Compact city.The method used in the study is an interweaving of a time geographic diary and qualitative interviews, where the respondents are six retired people between 68 and 77 years old living in Gothenburg city.

I?ve chosen a subject that's close to my heart, as a student who has experiences the need of a change in the traditional student living.I've focused my theses on ?nding the key ingredients for improving an individuals time as a student. In a time when students are struggling to ?nd accommodation that ful?lls the need of being close to university, close to social places, adequate size and affordable. This is close to impossible! This is not just a problem in Stockholm but an international dilemma.The heart of my thesis is, how can we create clever ways of student accommodation with emphasis on community and a more sustainable way of living?Only when we start embracing change and by breaking out of our traditional individual living, can we then start to realise and recognise the bene?ts of working, studying and living together.

The main goal of this project was to develop some sort of a diverter for pipestransporting waste in a vacuum system. This unit was supposed to be both cheap andeasy to serve/exchange worn out parts. With a limited space to install the pipeexchanger, the challenge was to keep it as Compact as possible without constructingbends with to small radius or to sharp angles as this would wear out the system a lotfaster than planned. The system was also supposed to be able to handle clothes andscrubs from hospitals. Having too much sharp edges or angles would tear the clothesapart.

A key part in the development and verification of digital systems is simulation. But hardware simulators are expensive, and software simulation is not fast enough for designs with a large number of gates. As today?s digital zesigns constantly grow in size (number of gates), and that trend shows no signs to end, faster simulators handling millions of gates are needed. We investigate how to create a software gate-level simulator able to simulate a high number of gates fast.

Utifrån ett identifierat problem av produktutvecklingsföretaget Prodelox har de tagit fram ett examensarbete med syfte att utveckla ett koncept på ett bord och stol. Bordet ska kunna fällas ut från väggen och bakom ska det rymmas fyra stolar. I uppfällt läge ska bordet ha en extra funktion, den ska ha ett estetiskt värde. Examensarbetet ämnar ta fram olika idéer och lösningar på bord och stolar för att sedan välja ut ett koncept. Idén med ett bord på väggen med stolar integrerade grundar sig i dagens samhälle.

Detta examensarbete är genomfört i samarbete med produktutvecklingsavdelningen på IKEA i Älmhult.Ingvar Kamprad startade IKEA år 1943 som en postorderfirma. Idag är företaget ett av världens största möbelföretag med 253 varuhus i 35 länder och med en omsättning på 161 miljarder kronor.Compact living är ett område på frammarsch inom inredningsvärlden. IKEA strävar efter att kunna erbjuda marknadskraftig heminredning inom alla områden. 24 hour Living room och dess delprojekt är en utgångspunkt för framtida idéer inom området.24 hour Livingroom är ett projekt där en urban lägenhet på cirka 40m2 skall möbleras för ett Compact living. Nyframtagna möbler och prototyper skall förenkla vardagen för en familj på två vuxna och två barn.

I och med att globalisering ökar i världen, kan det vara av vikt för företag att se över sitt ar-bete med frågor som går under begrepp så som Global Compact och Corporate Social Re-sponsibility (CSR) samt att ha kunskap i hur samarbete kan ske på olika nivåer i företaget med hjälp av Non Governmental Organizations (NGO). Denna uppsats har valt att tolka be-greppet CSR utifrån de tio principerna i FN:s Global Compact. När ett företag arbetar enligt dessa principer ställs krav på rapportering av hur principerna tillämpas och vilka effekterna blir, vilket skapar goda normer för hur andra företag bör arbeta med dessa frågor. Det finns olika sätt att mäta detta arbete på.Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att ta reda på hur företag i Sydafrika arbetar och agerar vad gäller frågor relaterade till CSR. För att uppfylla syftet ställdes följande frågor; på vilket sätt arbetar företag i Sydafrika med frågor som omfattas av begreppet CSR samt vilka är de främs-ta hindren för att Sydafrikanska företag skall kunna fortsätta implementera CSR i sin verk-samhet? En kvantitativ studie med kvalitativa inslag har genomförts.

The assignment was to design a family of products in which LED was to be used as a source of light. The main focus in the initial part of the project was to find a way to design the inside of armature which was suitable for LED technology. An armature, already in the range of products at Fagerhult, with the desired qualities that was to be strived after was the Zintra. The lighting source of the Zintra is a Compact fluorescent lamp.
