The purpose of this study is to examine how adult students, studying at an upper secondary school for adults, search for information for their independent tasks in different subjects. These independent tasks are frequent in most subjects and are a part of the ?investigation-work?. For most adult students this is a new way of learning. Fifteen qualitative interviews with adult students have been conducted.

With this essay we want to describe the transformation process that the real estate owner has to go through to sell the current rented flats to tenant. We also want to provide an understanding how the valuation is performed in the transformation process and highlight the issues that affects the price in the valuations. In the essay we would like to see if the valuation and the transformation process differ in a public real estate company compared to a private real estate company. Based on this we have asked us the following question to answer: -Is there any differences in how real estate?s are valued in the transformation process between public real estate companies and private real estate companies? We have used a qualitative approach to keep our main question.

Population growth leads to an increased need for new buildings, both residential and commercial. The regulations of structural design also changes with time. From a sustainable community perspective it may be profitable if existing buildings, that no longer performs their original function, are reconditioned. Denna studie observerade 30 inspelade polisintervjuer och undersökte om informationsmängden och informationstypen som brottsoffer och misstänkta lämnade under en polisintervju påverkades av intervjustilen. Underliggande variabler som konstituerar humanitet respektive dominans, respekt respektive ångest undersöktes. Oberoende t-test visade att brottsoffer i jämförelse med misstänkta dels lämnade signifikant mer total mängd information, dels signifikant mer mängd information av typerna när, hur, tid och varför. This master thesis deals with events, dynamics and problems of mediated information seeking within the context of a new information service called "Book a librarian". The study, based on a survey and interviews both in academic and public libraries and participant observations in academic libraries, has its theoretical base in the cognitive theory of information retrieval interaction. The cognitive view is used to throw light upon the need of an ongoing dialogue during the session in order to detect the information needs of the user and to conduct a successful retrieval of information. The communicative interaction is seen as threepart interaction between the intermediary, the user and the information system, where the current cognitive states of all three participants are involved. The study shows that the cognitive obstacles for a successful mediation and information retrieval are mostly connected to participants current knowledge of the subject and of the retrieval techniques.

Bakgrund: Cirka 30 000 personer insjuknar i hjärtinfarkt i Sverige årligen och det är den största folksjukdomen. Hjärtinfarkt är inte bara ett akut tillstånd, utan även en kronisk sjukdom. Vid insjuknande är det därför viktigt att personerna får information för att förstå sitt tillstånd.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa personers upplevelse av information given av sjukvårdspersonal efter att ha insjuknat i hjärtinfarkt.Metod: Studien gjordes som en litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats där nio vetenskapliga artiklar ligger till grund för studiens resultat. Analysen utfördes enligt Graneheim och Lundman.Resultat: Analysen resulterade i upplevelserna: personerna fick information på varierande sätt från sjukvårdspersonalen, Informationen gav stöd och trygghet och Saknar tillräcklig information.Slutsats: Personer som insjuknat i hjärtinfarkt upplever att de får bristande information om sitt hälsotillstånd och livet efter. Därför är det viktigt att sjukvårdspersonalen ger information anpassad efter individens förutsättningar.

Typ 2 diabetes har genom ökad levnadsstandard vuxit till ett världsomfattande problem. I Sverige har cirka 300 000 personer typ 2 diabetes. Omvårdnaden av denna patientgrupp kommer till stor del bestå av stöd och information. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva betydelse av stöd och information till patienter med typ 2 diabetes. Ett bra stöd från hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal och närstående är positivt för patienten.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att identifiera vilken ekonomisk information som en företagsledning i ett större tillverkande företag förmedlar, samt verifiera om detta stämmer överens med vad produktionspersonalen har vetskap om. Partille kommun har som önskemål att ett hotell ska finnas i Partille i enlighet med visionen för år 2035, om att gå från en förort till att bli en förstad. Idag finns endast två övernattningsalternativ av vandrarhemskaraktär i kommunen. Syftet med projektet är därför att utreda om en hotellverksamhet i Partille är möjlig. Vidare utreds hur Partille kommun arbetar med affärsdriven samhällsutveckling där kommunal strategi möjliggör en önskad samhällsplanering.Rapporten redovisar fyra faktorer som är avgörande vid val av lokalisering av ett nytt hotell; Tillväxt av befolkning, Tillväxt i näringsliv, Dragningskraft på privata marknaden samt Beläggningsgrad på minst 55 %. Dessa faktorer har utifrån en omvärldsanalys av Partille och dess närområde utreds vid bedömningen om ett hotell är möjligt eller ej.Informationssamling har skett genom kvalitativa intervjuer med politiker och tjänstemän på Partille kommun samt branschkunniga och verksamma inom hotellbranschen.

The web has made an incredible amount of unorganized information available to anyone. There are search engines that help us structuring the information, but it is still difficult to find what you search for on the web. The purpose of this master's thesis is to investigate whether the already existing techniques for automatic indexing are suited for the new information retrieval context on the web and how the choice to support these techniques, or not, affects the search results. This is examined through a literature study on automatic indexing and other related concepts, such as information retrieval and information searching on the web in order to get a theoretical frame to the work and by an observation of the search engine HotBot to approach the purpose of the thesis. The observation is carried out by searching HotBot's database and investigating the search results in order to try to identify patterns that can reveal something about how HotBot's automatic indexing is done.

My study focuses on how heterosexuality became, and still is, the norm for sexuality in Namibia. My aim is to through interviewing young academics from University of Namibia and by using discourse analysis, queer- and postcolonial theory, try to find out how these young academics perceive sexuality. My findings are that my respondents perceive heterosexuality to be natural, normal and given by god, and that they perceive homosexuality to be ?a big no-no?. There are certain institutions in the Namibian society that regulates how the Namibian people thinks about sexuality, and my findings are that these are Christianity, culture, family, government, and the traditional picture of a good man and a good woman.

The main goal was to develop a concept that is possible to implement in the Scania CV AB Fleet Management System. Another goal was to develop a security model that will be used as a tool during Scania CV AB?s future development projects of transport security concepts.The work was divided into three main parts: a background study, handling cargo crime, transport security Scania CV AB trucks and market analysis, a stakeholder investigation including a questionnaire and interviews, and a concept development session.

The topic of this essay is information seeking for children and young people in municipal libraries. This is based in the growing need for information seeking skills in the Information Society. Policy documents on the topic are scrutinized and related to a concrete praxis. Data has been collected through two case studies; one carried out in Ronneby and one in Trandared, Borås. These cases where chosen because of the existence of a local policy for library skills and information search for 6 to 12-year-olds.
