The aim of our study was to investigate how much self-determination persons with intellectual disabilities living in group-homes have when it comes to recreational activities. We studied what the recreational activities looked like, if there was any self-determination concerning recreational activities and which factors influenced self-determination for persons with intellectual disabilities. We used qualitative interviews with persons with intellectual disabilities, next of kin and personnel at group-homes. The result has been analyzed from earlier research, central concepts as self-determination and recreational activities and the theory of empowerment. The most important results that emerged in our study were; that recreational activities for persons with intellectual disabilities varied substantially, that there is a large number of to recreational activities available and no one seemed directly displeased with their recreational activities.

Purpose/Aim: Our purpose with this study is to examen the differences in communication between digital immigrants and digital natives, how the digitization has changed our way to communicate in an interpersonal matter.Main Results: Through our study we have concluded that barriers do exist between students (natives) and teachers (immigrants), but not to the extent we first predicted. The digitization has resulted in a change in the way we communicate and our relation to each other. But in a purely communicative matter, the digitization hasn?t made it harder for natives and immigrants to understand each other, but it has contributed to new vocabulary and the use of the language. New codes has been developed, but thanks to the younger generations ability to adapt to change - this linguistic difference it is not a problem for the understanding of the code used by the immigrants.

The purpose with the examination is to examine a preschool head and three teachers experiences and opinions of whether the tablet can be used to support childrens linguistic development and social interactions in preschool. To answer the purpose we will use these questions of issue:What is the purpose with tablets and how are they used in preschool activity?What pros and cons do the teachers see with tablets?How do the teachers resonate about the use of tablets to develop childrens language skill and social interactions?What type of social interaction occurs when children use the tablet?We have used interviews and observations as our methods. We interviewed three teachers and one preschool head in the capital city of Sweden. They all have a positive attitude towards the use of tablets in preschool.

AbstractBackground: The company that this report addresses is, at time for investigation, in the midst ofa change in organizational culture, where two departments with different core competencies arebrought together into one. The purpose of this study is to review the potential problems that mayoccur in the change process when one or more subcultures come into conflict with organizationalgoals.Purpose and methodology: The reason for performing this study and the objectives are toexamine how subcultures influence and respond to organizational changes. The survey isconducted with a bottom-up approach in which participation in daily activities with thesubgroups is the foundation. The management's perspective has been omitted in consideration ofpast literature in the field where focus most often has been on their thoughts and views on theprocess of organizational change. The method used is participant observation and interviews.Results and Conclusion: Subcultures exist and they do affect an organizational change.

The parents of a developmentel disordered child live with much sorrow and anguish. Despite that, they often talk about hope, joy and love for their child. The autistic spectrum disorder includes different stands. Three of them are Autism, Aspergers syndrome and Disintegrative disability. An article overview has been made with the purpose to examine parents experiences of having a child that develops autism or a diagnosis within the autistic spectrum.

Introduction: Anxiety and depression are common among patients enrolled in psychiatric outpatient care. Ear Acupuncture is an alternative form of treatment that has been shown to relieve anxiety and depression in previous studies.Aim: To evaluate ear acupuncture as a group treatment for depression and anxietyMethod: A psychiatric outpatient clinic has been offering group treatments with ear acupuncture for anxiety and depression for 5 weeks. Participants of the study have answered self-rating scales Montgomery Åsberg Depression Rating Scale, Beck Anxiety Inventory and Sheehan Disability scale before and after the treatment period. Material was collected in the period 2008-2012 and has been analyzed in SPSS.Results: Data from 31 patients were included in the study. The results from the study showed a significant difference, between the measurements before and after treatment, with a reduction of the average values in the three different scales.Summary: From this study, it is difficult to draw any conclusions about the effect of ear acupuncture.

The purpose of this project is to survey the presence of folk expressions, i.e. proverbs, proverbial expressions, wellerisms and familiar expressions, in some of the realistic children?s books by Astrid Lindgren. The purpose also includes the study of the contextual and pragmatic functions of the expressions as well as how the expressions are integrated into the text by the change of the formulaic standard structure. The contextual and pragmatic function concern when, how and why the expressions are used and who the users of the expressions are.

För att äldre personer ska kunna utföra meningsfulla aktiviteter och känna gemenskap med andra krävs att de kan transportera sig. Det är viktigt för att bibehålla god hälsa och uppleva livskvalitet. Många äldre har svårighet att transportera sig med vanliga bussar på grund av funktionsnedsättningar som kommer med stigande ålder. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva vad En buss för alla har för betydelse för äldres delaktighet i samhället. Studiens design var kvalitativ, en målinriktad sampling gjordes och undersökningsgruppen valdes ut från förutbestämda kriterier.

Bullying in schools is a big social problem in today?s society and it affects the children exposed in a very negative way. The aim of my paper is to find out if there is a group of students who gets bullied by other students more often than others. I want to study if children with functional disabilities get more bullied than children without functional disabilities and,if this is the case ? why is it so?My questions are:Are children with functional disabilities particularly exposed to bullying?How is bullying prevented?In order to get my results I have made three qualitative interviews and analyzed two debate articles concerning bullying of the disabled.

Studien genomfördes under vintern 2012 med syfte att ta reda på hur personer med fysisk funktionsnedsättning upplever och uppfattar bemötandet i vården samt hur bemötandet kan förbättras. Personer med funktionsnedsättning är en stor grupp inom vården och det är därför av största vikt att ta deras upplevelser tas på allvar. Narrativa intervjuer med sex personer, i åldern 18-54 år, låg till grund för datamaterialet. Materialet analyserades sedan med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys enligt Graneheim och Lundman (2004). De slutgiltiga kategorierna blev Positiva upplevelser med sju underkategorier, Negativa upplevelser med 13 underkategorier och Önskvärt bemötande med två underkategorier som i sin tur delades in i tre underkategorier var.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how teachers work with Autism pupils in two different schoolforms: a traditional elementary school and a language school. The study was based on three questions: 1. How do teachers in elementary school prepare, plan and implement reading and writing instruction to Autism pupils? 2. How do teachers in the language unit prepare, plan and implement their reading and writing instruction to Autism pupils? 3.

Internet är idag en av de största informationskällorna som används av en stor del av befolkningen. För att göra webbplatser tillgängliga för personer med funktionsnedsättningar är det viktigt att man som webbutvecklare är medveten om hur internet används av dessa grupper, vilka tekniska hjälpmedel de kan använda sig av och vilka problem som finns. En webbutvecklare som besitter dessa kunskaper kan anpassa design och kod som ökar tillgängligheten.I denna studie har vi genom en enkätundersökning tagit reda på hur Sveriges universitet och högskolor arbetar för att öka tillgängligheten på sin webbplats. Vi har också utfört en kodkontroll av förstasidan på alla lärosätens webbplatser för att se om koden uppfyller kraven på tillgänglighet.Resultatet på undersökningen är analyserat utifrån riktlinjerna inom WCAG 2.0 vilket ger en tydlig bild över hur de olika lärosätena har tillgänglighetsanpassat sina webbplatser. Genom undersökningen har vi funnit att de flesta universiteten och högskolorna arbetar för att öka tillgängligheten genom att jobba efter riktlinjer och rekommendationer, men det finns även brister som kan förbättras..

This thesis examines the democracy theories that can be found in the internet websites of Region Skåne and Stockholm county council. Within the framework of deliberative democracy, participatory democracy and electoral democracy, the author tries to distinguish democratic aspects by empirically studying these websites and their communicative effect on the internet users.This research shows that Region Skåne is slightly better in implementing democratic aspects at their home page, which is probably due to an active work with these issues carried out by the politicians and the report on the democratic development from 2004. However, a great deal of work regarding democracy and the possibility of civic participation in the decision- making process is still to be done.The problems and challenges in using internet as a democratic tool shows that citizens run a risk of being neglected, due to their uneven participation in using internet in daily life. The conclusion of this thesis is that the politicians have to make an active choice in deciding to what extent the internet is allowed to be used when it comes to developing democracy. This work has to be done in cooperation with political scientists and IT experts, in order to assure a correct democratic model..

The aim of this study was to examine young people?s experiences of participation within the intervention Contact Person. Three questions were asked concerning young people?s experience of participation, aspects that promoted/limited the young people?s experience and the significance they attached to the intervention. The findings in this study are based on phenomenological interviews with five teenagers within the intervention Contact Person.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka vilka faktorer som är betydelsefulla för att stödja personer med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning i att erhålla anställning. Fem personal som stödjer personer med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning i processen att erhålla anställning samt fyra personer som tar emot stöd avseende detta har intervjuats. Materialet har bearbetats utifrån en induktiv tematisk analysmetod med empowerment som teoretisk ansats. Huvudresultatet visade att det var viktigt att genomföra individuellt anpassad kartläggning samt stödja utifrån motivation. Handledaren bör arbeta med inkludering, ta parti för personer med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning, utveckla personens förmågor och självmedvetenhet.
