This study is based on the will to understand the importance of a specific theory within social work. From the concept of neo-liberal governmentality, the aim is to critically examine and discuss how governance and self-governance is manifested in social work methods and interventions, exemplified by the theory cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). This will be accomplished through an analysis of:? How governance (and self-governance) is manifested in text through the advocacy of CBT and methods based on CBT.? How (governance and) self-governance is manifested in text through the contents of CBT and methods based on CBT. The study has a deductive approach including the hypothesis that the discourses inherent in social work methods and interventions, exemplified by the theory of CBT and methods based on CBT, may be related to the West?s development of a neo-liberal concept of governance.

Introduction: Sleep is necessary for human survival. Difficulty sleeping occurs in about one in four adult person in Sweden, insomnia in every ten. There are several reasons for difficulty sleeping, where stress is one of the most common. The quality of life and health are affected negatively. Treatment with proven efficacy against insomnia is not only sleep medication, but also cognitive behavioral therapy, CBT.

För att skapa en produkt som stödjer kundens mål och arbetsprocesser är det av stor vikt att identifiera vilka, men även var och i vilket sammanhang de potentiella brukarna är och agerar. Moderna styrsystem ger möjligheter för flera olika personalkategorier att arbeta med systemen och dessutom används systemen inom skilda domäner där det finns olika behov. Det fanns därför ett behov att, på uppdrag av ABB, utreda vilka behov dessa olika personalkategorier har och hur styrsystemet uppfyller dessa, samt på vilka punkter systemet skulle kunna utöka sitt stöd för de uppgifter som skall utföras. I form av en fallstudie genomfördes därefter en kartläggning av arbetsmiljö, personalkategorier och olika uppgifter och mål som uppfylls av personalen. Fallstudien genomfördes utifrån ett systemperspektiv med ett sammansatt kognitivt system (JCS) som enhet för analys. Detta perspektiv var även tongivande vid presentation av resultaten i form av karaktäristiska gestaltningar av både brukare och domän. Studien har visat att befintliga gestaltningstekniker inte är tillräckliga för att gestalta brukare, domän och samspelet där emellan.

Latensfasen är den första fasen i ett förlossningsarbete och är en normal process, trots detta är den komplex och svårdiagnostiserad. Det finns ingen direkt gräns mellan förvärkar och latensfasens början, däremot finns en tydligare beskrivning av när den aktiva fasen startar. Att latensfasen inte är väl definierad kan innebära problem för barnmorskor i deras möte med dessa kvinnor. En lång latensfas är relaterat till ett antal problem för den födande kvinnan, såsom trötthet, uppgivenhet, smärta, oro och olika förlossningskomplikationer. Även risken för interventioner ökar om kvinnan kommer in i ett tidigt skede till förlossningsavdelningen, och ännu inte är i aktivt fas.

Traditionellt utvärderas effekter av kognitiv träning med objektiva prestationsmått. Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka självskattad exekutiv funktion som ett alternativt mått för att utvärdera effekter av kognitiv träning. Som utfallsmått valdes The behavior rating inventory of executive functioning - self report (BRIEF-SR). Vidare användes blandad design med för- och eftermätning samt tre oberoende grupper. Gymnasieelever (n = 63) delades in i; aktiv träningsgrupp, aktiv placebogrupp och passiv kontrollgrupp.

The aim of this study is to gain an increased knowledge and deeper understanding of compulsive gambling and its consequences in today?s society. Gambling addiction will be described and analysed by a selection of experts, therapists and people with an addictive gambling background. The basis of the empirical research has been undertaken by a qualitative design with interviews consisting of three fundamental themes. The research group of eight participants included four gamblers, two therapists and two specialists.

The purpose of this Bachelor degree project is to design different types of services that can increase the amount of re-used timber within the building sector and by that means improve their environmental efforts. By examining how the sectors environmental work concerning recycling and re-using timber as a building material is getting on at present, conclusions have been drawn about what further could be done for improvement.The project has shown that there is a scarcity of information and statistics within the sector, but that there are efforts in progress to change this. Questionnaires have been sent to a number of companies working with demolition and utilizing re-usable materials in order to find out what kind of problems there are within the trade. Unfortunately the survey gave insufficient result due to the low reply frequency.It is obvious that active environmental work within the building sector is important and the knowledge acquired while working with the project has led to the design of three suggestions for services regarded as being of interest for improving the negative environmental impact caused by the sector:Suggestion 1 ? Sale of construction parts prior to the demolition of a buildingSuggestion 2 ? Re-utilization circulation when manufacturing buildingsSuggestion 3 ? Education in relation to the purchase of houses  The positive and negative qualities of the suggestions have been examined with SWOT-analysis and further adaptions and the results have been interpreted.

Multipel skleros är en autoimmun sjukdom som genom en inflammatorisk process bryter ner myelinet runt nerverna i centrala nervsystemet och leder till ärrbildning på nerverna. Sjukdomen utvecklas under många år och leder till olika grad av funktionsnedsättningar. Den drabbar kvinnor oftare än män och är vanligare i Nordamerika och norra Europa än i världen övrigt. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att studera hur personer med multipel skleros upplever att sjukdomen påverkar livskvaliteten. Metoden för litteraturstudien inspirerades av Goodmans sju steg för litteratursökning.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of mindfulness training in the treatment of chronic pain, estimate the degree of mindfulness before and after intervention, and to describe the participants experience of mindfulness training. Mindfulness is defined as moment to moment, non-judgmental awareness. After the treatment of chronic pain 16 patients were offered and nine agreed to participate in mindfulness training. The intervention group took part in an 8-week group-program. The comparison group, not randomized, was 16 former patients.

AbstractThe purpose of this essay was to determent if the authors? idea to replace a personal trainer with a training program, which is provided by software, is viable and if there is a market for such a product. The method that was used, included eight people who enrolled in a training program which were designed by the authors in Microsoft excel. The programs were based on principals of periodization, and included the phases: anatomic adaptation, hypertrophy, maximum strength and muscle definition. The training program was personal and based on individual goal setting.

The main purpose of this two year master´s thesis is to study patterns, structures and relations within gender studies when combined with Library and Information Science(LIS). Further aims are to determine the character of student work considering, occurrence, gender and main theme, to study the progress of the intellectual base of gender studies within LIS and to evaluate the use of bibliometrics as a tool for researching the development of a discipline. To achieve these aims, a bibliometric study using both publication analysis and citation analysis, is carried out. The studied material contains student work, specifically focused on gender, from the Swedish School of Library and Information Science (SSLIS) from 1985?2012.

The purpose with my essay was to investigate how genre pedagogy works in a practical manor? I wanted to reach a deeper understanding for the genre pedagogy and to find out if it fits all students. To investigate this issue I have asked following questions:What is genre pedagogy?How do teachers work with different genres in the genre pedagogy?For whom is the genre pedagogy?Is the critic right that Frøydis Hertzberg is proposing about the genre pedagogy formalism? I have been using qualitative methods, to gather my empirical data. I have been using two unstructured interviews and one unsystematically observation, in a third grade class in a school south of Stockholm, with 30% second language students.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to identify and analyze innovative products and services within the telecom industry, letting these findings constitute possible ways for CSPs to innovate the experience of their customers. Methodology: The research in this thesis was conducted from a qualitative approach and data were collected using primary- (expert interviews) and secondary sources (journals, articles, web sites etcetera). In addition, a research design entailing four sequential steps was created to stipulate and illustrate the logic underpinning the methodological process. Theoretical perspectives: The theories are divided in three groups. Background theories ? these intend to capture the problematic nature of the transforming telecom industry, examples of such theories are; value chain theories and ecosystem theory.

Denna studie är unik, därför att det inte tidigare har gjorts någon utvärdering av samverkans- och nätverksarbetet mellan socialförvaltning, skola och polis. Vi ska i den här uppsatsen se närmare på samverkan mellan tre olika organisationer; socialtjänst, skola och polis i stadsdelen Rosengård i Malmö. Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att belysa framgångsfaktorer och brister i samverkan och nätverksarbetet kring socialtjänstens öppenvårdsarbete bland unga kriminella på Rosengård.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur barns språk främjas och utvecklas hos förskolans yngsta barn och på vilket sätt detta genomförs i praktiken på förskolan. Studien genomförs med fokus på innehållet i samlingar. Samlingarnas innehåll analyseras med Vygotskijs teori i åtanke genom att intervjua förskollärare och observera samlingar med fokus på de tre teoretiska begreppen involvering, delaktighet och autonomi. Resultatet visar att förskollärarna använder sig av principerna involvering, delaktighet och autonomi genom samlingarnas olika återkommande aktiviteter såsom upprop, högläsning, ramsa, sånglek och avslutning. Studien visar även att förskollärarna följer två olika modeller som består av Bornholmsmodellen och förskollärarnas egen modell.
