This report describes an investigation of the indoor climate in two different workspaces. Since we a big part of our lives are staying indoors in artificial environments, and more particularly in our workplaces, we think it would be interesting to do this investigation. The technical solutions for air treatment systems began with simple natural systems without fans and where the thermal rise of the air applied. In modern time is technical air treating systems used to take care of the fresh air supply. This type of units can supply filtered air with the right temperature to the building. Well-functioning ventilation is essential to bring clean fresh air to the room and effectively remove impurities without sound- or draught problems. The indoor climate is relevant for the output capacity.

   Officially, Sweden has a very low level of corruption and in 2008 topped Transparency International?s list in terms of the perception of a lack of corruption. However, on closer examination it would appear that the Swedish public sector is not as clean as the Transparency International list suggests. What appears to be relatively common and quite widely accepted in Sweden, especially in local government, are conflict of interest situations in which public officials use their position to obtain advantages for themselves, their friends and their colleagues, in particular with respect to public procurement. According to the Swedish constitution, the public administration shall be governed by the principles on legality and objectivity. Grave violations of these principles are deemed illegal and contrary to the penal code provisions relating to bribery, public misconduct and breach of confidentiality.

Östby waterworks in the community of Kramfors has since 2003 had problems of fast clogging of the slow sand filters. As the clogging appears more often, they must be cleaned more frequently which has made the drinking water preparation difficult. Wintertime it has sometimes been impossible to clean the filters which has led to their closing and this has influenced the water quality negatively.The waterworks is a surface waterworks which takes its raw water from the lake Sjöbysjön. The water is flocculated and filtered in a contact filter with the flocculent EKOFLOCK 91. Thereafter it is alkalinized before it reaches the outdoors placed slow sand filters.

AimThe aim of the present study was to evaluate physical performance according to ?fysprofilen? in skiers of the Swedish mogul ski team and to compare their physical performance at three test occasions during one year.MethodsAll eight elite mogul skiers at the Swedish national mogul ski team during the seasons 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 participated voluntarily in this study. The test battery ?fysprofilen? was performed at three test occasions, October 2011, May 2012 and October 2012. Muscle strength was evaluated with squats, bench press and grip strength; power was evaluated with power clean, squat jump, countermovement jump with and without arm swing, Harre´s test and the 30 meters sprint.

Tobii Technology AB is a global leading company in eye tracking. The technology is a part of acomputer screen called an eye tracker. It enables computers to follow eye movement whichfurther make it possible to control the computer by only using your eyes.The mission was to develop an arcade game for eye controlled games that Tobii can use in theirmarketing or as a tool when doing researches about the interest in the technology amongst gamecompanies. The product realization involved designing an innovative, functional and futuristiccase which gathered the existing hardware and software to build the final prototype. In order toattract users it was important to focus on the visual expressions.Initially, the project started off with an information retrieval which contained interviews, fieldstudies, tests and literature studies.

Psittacos eller papegojsjuka är en zoonotisk sjukdom som främst drabbar fåglar, men i mindre omfattning även däggdjur. Sjukdomen orsakas av den obligat intracellulära bakterien Chlamydophila psittaci.Smittade fåglar utsöndrar bakterien i framför allt faeces och nässekret. Utsöndringen är ofta intermittent och kan sättas igång av stress. Både fåglar och människor får framför allt i sig bakterien genom inhalation av aerosoler eller damm, men även oral och kontaktsmitta är möjlig.Symptombilden är varierande hos både fåglar och människor. Ofta ses en subklinisk eller mild sjukdom med diffusa symptom, såsom feber, apati, konjunktivit och milda respiratoriska symptom.

This is a 15 hp (10 p) thesis in biology at the programme for Horticulture Management at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Alnarp. In this literature study we have processed, reviewed and arranged facts and research, to make it more available for those who want to know more about establishment or cultivation of mosses. Our client is Fredriksdal?s Museums and Gardens in Helsingborg who are planning to establish a moss garden. The information is meant to be used by Fredriksdal and other similar facilities.

In this thesis a method for evaluating investments in small scale hydro power is presented. An analysis of the future position that small scale hydro production will have on the Nordic electricity market is also carried out. This is done by an inventory of technology and economic and environmental aspects. The inventory is also a guide as to how the project should be implemented.Hydrolyzer is the name of the Excel tool developed to evaluate investments. The tool requests input data from the user and then evaluates the investment and generates a sensitivity analysis.

Urban farming can be viewed in several contexts. The first part of this work brings up the beneficial effects of farming on our physical and mental health, knowledge as well as on social life in cities. The introduction of gardening in schools can contribute to an increased awareness on both agricultural practices and importance as well as ecological processes. It can also be used in teaching of other subjects. Farming can also contribute to improving the household economy, and the economy on a municipal or national level.

Under hösten 2008 gjordes ett examensarbete om utvecklingen av luftrenare på ett företag vidnamn AD Air Design AB (AD) beläget i Åkersberga utanför Stockholm. Examensarbetetdelades i två delar där den första delen behandlade dokumentation av en existerande modell.Bakgrunden för det var en licensförsäljning från AD till Humanscale i USA för nyttjandet avDEP (Disposable Electrostatical Precipitators) luftreningsteknik, men Humanscalemisslyckades i sin produktutveckling med tekniken. AD tog därför fram en fungerande modellåt dem men ritningsunderlag saknades. Syftet med att ta fram ritningsunderlaget var förprojektgruppen att fördjupa kunskapen om hur luftreningen fungerade för AD:s maskinerinför examensarbetets del 2.AD:s företagsidé är utveckling av luftrenare med en speciell elektrofilterteknik kallad DEP.Tekniken bygger på det revolutionerade sättet att tillverka en filterkassett av papper till ettelektrofilter där partiklar fångas i filtret när de laddas med hjälp av en coronaström från enborste. Den existerande modellen innehöll denna teknik och dess delar måttades upp.

De vanligaste orsakerna till kattsnuva är infektion med felint herpesvirus typ 1 (FHV-1) eller felint calicivirus (FCV). Båda virusen är vanligt förekommande även i den friska populationen och prevalensen är generellt högre i större djurgrupper. Efter infektion med FHV-1 lägger sig viruset ofta latent och kan återaktiveras av olika stressfaktorer. FCV kan utsöndras i flera år efter infektion och detta utan att katterna visar kliniska symtom. Smittspridning för FHV-1 sker främst via direktkontakt med akut sjuka djur eller intermittent utsöndrande djur. FCV smittar direkt från sjuka djur eller friska smittbärare men kan också smitta via ytor.

Herbicide resistance is the result of an evolutionary process where a population gradually changes from being susceptible to being resistant to an herbicide. The resistance mechanism is usually a change in the biochemistry of the weed, but in some cases changes in morphology or growth rhythm. The change is caused by random mutations. Two resistance mechanisms are found in black-grass; target site resistance and metabolic resistance.Black-grass is a tufty, winter annual grass weed, which is mainly found in milder climates. Black-grass is a big problem in Southern Europe.

My final essay is a design proposal for a schoolyard that pertains to the senses. The proposal consists of an illustration plan and this paper. The design proposal takes start in sense stimulation to create a varied environment. The title leads to the concept ?surprisingly predictable?.

The population growth and urbanisation in low-income countries bring issues of poor living standards and miserable sanitation conditions onto the agenda. If well-functioning waste management systems were developed, this could master some of the problems. The already existing local informal waste handling system that is common in many low-income countries, needs to be developed with proper sorting and composting solutions to decrease the environmental burden and improve the overall situation in the dense cities. This master?s thesis project is performed with the intention of developing functional decentralised waste management units in the city of Pune, India.

Society?s interest for environmental issues was reinforced in the 1960:s when the book by Rachel Carson, ?Silent Spring?, came out. She described a picture of a world without birds singing and this got the environmental debate going. Today, this debate has reached the corporate world since stakeholders are putting pressure on companies to show greater environmental awareness. Many companies show uncertainty when they are faced with these new market demands.
