Warehouses are a key aspect of modern supply chains and play a vital role in the success or failure of businesses today. Figures from the USA indicate that the capital- and operating costs of warehouses represent about 22 % of a company?s logistics costs while figures from Europe indicate 25 % (Baker & Canessa, 2009). Because warehousing is such an important function within a company, the authors chose to focus on this in their thesis. The purpose of this thesis has been to examine the significance of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and item identification with attention to logistic efficiency.

Although this popularity for mergers and acquisitions, most of the mergers and acquisitions fail to create value. One explanation to this failure of value creation is, according to several studies, how companies treat integration of information systems in the pre-merger evaluation. The research within the field argues that information system integration should have a proactive role in mergers and acquisitions, meaning that information system integration should support the organizational change and normally be considered in the premerger evaluation. The aim of this thesis is to study issues that affect whether companies choose to consider information system integration proactively, when involved in mergers and acquisitions.

Syftet med studien har varit att undersöka musikens funktion för människor och deras relation till musik, låttext och attribut i kontakt med musik i olika sammanhang. En empirisk undersökning i intervjuform har gjorts bland fyra akademiker från fyra olika studieområden, två kvinnor och två män. De fyra akademikerna har gemensamt att de lever på samma område och att de under fritiden kommer i kontakt med, både med varandra och med musikgenren dance musik. Undersökningen fokuseras därför på dessa akademikers förhållande till och användning av dance och vad för funktioner musiken har för dem. In this essay I have tried to present the ideas and thoughts of the Swedish author Rolf Edberg (1912-1997), journalist, ambassador and county governor. By many regarded as an environment philosopher and the introducer of deep ecology into Sweden. The essay emphasizes Edberg as a modern renaissance man of important knowledge with a rhetorical force to present and generalize the problems the planet Earth is meeting. The paper compares him with Henry Thoreau but also finds a close but perhaps unintended relationship with the German philosopher Ernst Haeckel although Edberg himself claimed to be a Darwinist at heart.The essay stresses on four characteristic features in his authorship namely 1) a holistic view of nature and man, rejecting dualism for monism; 2) a cosmic relationship within the whole universe and also between organic and inorganic matter; 3) the planet Earth is in a crisis due to an uneven and unjust distribution of the resources of the Earth, the nuclear weapon threat and the overpopulation; 4) the evolution and not the religion has the answer to our existential questions..

The treatments of these diseases are self care and a change of lifestyle. For this to be successful there is a need for the person to have knowledge about the diseases and a motivation for making changes in his or her lifestyle. Most of this information is given by the district nurse at the health centre. It is important to get a better knowledge of these persons experiences and how they used the information given to them.

Då befolkningen blir allt äldre kommer antalet äldre personer med diabetes mellitus typ 2 öka. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa hur äldre personer med diabetes mellitus typ 2 hanterar och upplever hur det är att leva med sjukdomen. Vilka förändringar uppstår i äldre individers livssituation efter att ha fått diagnosen? Hur hanterar äldre personer de förändringar som sjukdomen medför? Resultatet bygger på tio kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar.

Among all major information system developing companies today, almost everyone work in some form of project management. Our objective with this study has been to find out if there are any problems that begin in the early part of the project. Problems that, if they aren?t solved directly, can become bigger problems later on in the project.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease, which affects mostly women. RA is also a chronic disease and the treatment is focused on moderating the immunological process. RA-patients experience daily pain which affect their prosperity. The aim of this literature study is to illuminate some factors that influence the well-being of patients with RA. The factors that have been studied are pain, nutrition and need of knowledge about nutrition.

Vilka psykologiska processer som gör att vissa individer klarar sig bättre än andra i påfrestande situationer har väckt allt större intresse hos forskarna. Syftet med den här studien var att undersöka vilken betydelse socialt stöd har för anpassningen till kronisk reumatisk sjukdom. Studien utfördes i form av tolv halvstrukturerade intervjuer. Analys av materialet som helhet antydde att intervjupersonerna ansåg att socialt stöd från omgivningen hade hjälpt dem att anpassa sig till sjukdomen. Vården, i form av bland annat läkare, framstod som ett särskilt viktigt socialt stöd.

I denna rapport behandlas verktyget FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis), dess användning och genomförande på identifierade komponenter som ingår i elmotorer tillverkade hos ABB LV Motors i Västerås. Målet med detta arbete har varit att ge lärdom om metoden FMEA på företaget för att möjliggöra användandet av verktyget bland medlemmarna på företaget och att vi implementerar verktyget på befintlig motor för att analysera de felsätt som kan uppstå. Eftersom ABB just nu har ett pågående projekt med en ny motor kan våra slutgiltiga felanalyser även ge dem information om vilka ändringar och åtgärder som kan vara till nytta vid utformningen av den nya motorn.Efter två veckors praktik i verkstan och en grundlig genomgång av företagets reklamationer kunde vi avgränsa arbetet genom att identifiera de komponenter som analyserna skulle genomföras på. Efter en genomgång tillsammans med våra handledare på företaget kom vi fram till att utföra våra analyser på fem komponenter, två av dem framstod som mycket kritiska som upptäcktes redan vid genomgång av reklamationerna.Komponenterna som vi har analyserat är:1.
