Undersökning av svetsegenskaper för svetsning med rörtråd kontra homogen tråd

Welding is a common method for joining of metal or plastic construction parts. This report describes several different weld methods in general terms. The report focuses on the GMAW method, specifically MAG welding.A case study has also been performed for the company Wenmec. The task received from the company was to compare the mechanical properties of joints welded with the tube electrode called Nittetsu SM-3A and joints welded with the homogenous electrode called ESAB Aristorod 12.63. Both types of weld joint were welded with the MAG method with an Argon based shielding gas with 18% CO2.

To make an organization more efficient and therefore reduce waste production everybody involved needs to appreciate and understand the improvements that can increase the organization?s efficiency. To investigate these improvements a time study was performed on two different construction sites, both of which involved buildings being constructed of prefabricated steel and concrete elements.

Still it has been read under the centuries with a fascination and eager to understand the structure of power and how to master it. My purpose with this study is to apply this Machiavellian idea of the capable prince on to the earlier research of the Swedish duke Karl, later on King Karl IX.

Tobii Technology AB is a global leading company in eye tracking. The technology is a part of acomputer screen called an eye tracker. It enables computers to follow eye movement whichfurther make it possible to control the computer by only using your eyes.The mission was to develop an arcade game for eye controlled games that Tobii can use in theirmarketing or as a tool when doing researches about the interest in the technology amongst gamecompanies. The product realization involved designing an innovative, functional and futuristiccase which gathered the existing hardware and software to build the final prototype. In order toattract users it was important to focus on the visual expressions.Initially, the project started off with an information retrieval which contained interviews, fieldstudies, tests and literature studies.

Market analysis for glulam within the Swedish construction sector

Glulam?s position at the Swedish market for building constructions has been established over the past decades. Factors affecting glulam demand are found both in global and national contexts as well in customer attitudes and knowledge of the material. Arguments for environmentally friendly and sustainable construction processes and energy-efficient designs are nowadays common, which is something that should motivate increased usage of wood as a renewable material. For the glulam industry to increase its sales, improve profitability and thereby gain market share in present competitive climate, reliable market information and updated market intelligence is required.

Konceptarbete om skidbalk i kompositutförande till BVS10

This thesis has been performed at BAE Systems Hägglunds, which is located in Örnsköldsvik. Hägglunds has a wide background of engineering, where they have manufactured all from airplanes to lifting cranes. Currently they only produce track vehicles at Hägglunds, where they manufacture the CV90 and BVS10 models. This thesis concerns the BVS10 which is an all-terrain-vehicle. The main purpose with the BVS10 is to enable transportation of material and personnel thru tough terrain.

This report has been performed for WSP Construction Design located at Arenavägen 7 in Stockholm. WSP Construction Design is one of the leading departments in Sweden in construction solutions regarding everything from building construction to industrial building. Great competencies regarding steel, wood and concrete constructions are available within the department which is well sought.Crane girders used in the industry are exposed to large loads that vary over time that includes instantaneous lifts and the crane girders movement which lead to the phenomenon fatigue in the crane girder and its ingoing welds. A control of fatigue needs to be performed after a certain lifespan measured in time which in turn is converted to a number of loadcycles. When the number of loadcycles amounts to a greater number the input welds resistance will have been reduced and the rate of utilization thereby increased.

The thesis project is accomplished during winter and spring 2008 at Karlstad University at the faculty of technology and science. The tutor at Karlstad University is Nils Hallbäck and the examiner is Hans Johansson. Rolls-Royce at Kristinehamn in Sweden is the initiator for the project. The thesis project title is design of the blade bolt joint on Kamewa CPP. CPP stands for controllable pitch propeller.

Från förslagsverksamhet till systematiskt förbättringsarbete

Detta examensarbete är utfört på Smurfit Kappa Kraftliner i Piteå i ett försök att hjälpa företaget att följa med i den snabba teknologiska tillväxttakt som råder inom pappersindustrin idag. Företagets gamla förslagsverksamhet innehöll brister i belöningssystem och motivationsfaktorer som gjorde att ledningen motarbetade förslag för att de ansåg belöningen vara för stor. Smurfit har sedan de köpte bort det gamla systemet arbetat för att ta fram ett nytt system, som innefattar klara och tydliga riktlinjer samt ett belöningssystem som uppmuntrar hela företaget istället för att tillföra en dålig stämning som fallet varit. Smurfit är kvalitetscertifierade enligt ISO 9001:2000 och måste ha en fungerande förslagsverksamhet för att uppfylla samtliga kriterier. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att ta fram och belysa vissa faktorer som är kritiska för att en förslagsverksamhet ska fungera.

Inverkan av MgO på ljusbågsugnsslaggens lakningsegenskaper

Ovako Steel AB i Hofors producerar ca 450 000 ton låglegerat stål varje år i en skrotbaserad process. Vid tillverkningen bildas årligen stora tonnage biprodukter som i stor utsträckning deponeras. För att minska andelen deponerat material finns planer på att använda slaggen som vägmaterial. Målet med detta examensarbete har varit att utreda hur egenskaperna hos ljusbågsugnsslagg med avseende på vägbyggnadstillämpningar kan förväntas ändra sig om den nuvarande slaggbildaren kalk delvis byts ut mot dolomit. Tanken att byta slaggbildare till dolomit kommer av att slaggen då får bättre skumningsegenskaper vilket påverkar infodringsslitaget och elförbrukningen positivt.

Underhållsfria material i broöverbyggnader : Fördelar ur kostnads- och miljösynpunkt vid användning av rostfritt stål och direktgjuten betong

En stor del av Trafikverkets budget går till att reparera och underhålla våra broar. Underhållsåtgärder orsakar också trafikproblem med stora miljöutsläpp och samhällskonsekvenser som följd. Eftersom broar vanligtvis dimensioneras för en lång livslängd på 120 år är det viktigt att planera för långsiktiga lösningar och förutse konsekvenserna av kommande underhållsåtgärder. Genom att använda mer underhållsfria material finns möjligheten att minska kostnaderna och koldioxidsläppen.Målet med examensarbetet är att ta reda på hur stora besparingarna är genom att svara på frågan: ?Vilka fördelar erhålls av att använda mer underhållsfria material i broöverbyggnader ur kostnads- och miljösynpunkt??.

To succeed, and make money at your animal production you need to feed your animals with high quality fodder. Other condition to succeed is that you keep your production costs at a minimum. To be able to produce baled silage at a low cost it?s very important that the bales have a high density. Density is measured in kg dry matter (DM) per cubic meter. The purpose with this report was to learn more about making silage in round bales and to how much the bale density varies between different brands of round balers.
