The landscape with its associated historical tracks and remains are an important part of our cultural heritage that we consider important to conserve. The stone walls are an example of historical remains that helps to build up this cultural heritage. It is a landscape element that today usually is being associated with the old cultivated landscape, where they mainly functioned as boundary markings and fences. Today, the stone wall is a valuable element in the landscape with ecological, culture-historical and aesthetic values. Since the stone walls arose as elements in the landscape a lot has been changed within the agriculture.

The main aim of this paper is to illurninate how a group of immigrants meet the publiclibrary in Sweden. I have chosen to discuss Iranian immigrants' meeting with the publiclibrary in Borås. The investigation (qualitative interviews and inquiries) has taken placein the public library of Borås and partly in a local library with high density of immigrants.A theoretical perspective deals with the case study of dual marginality, where theconception of the "Marginal Man" or "The Outsider" is central. I have indicated how theprevious authors have considered this problem, to live on the verge between twodifferent cultures and how individuals react on it.The interviews and inquiries answered by Iranian immigrants are the most importantmaterial in this investigation and the result of them is connected to the theoreticalperspective and a discussion, what it means for the public library..

Matematiska kunskaper är en central del inom digital spelutveckling. Metoderna hur man lär ut matematik och dess innehåll har dock inte utvecklats i samma takt som hur lär ut hur man utvecklar spel. Jag vill med den här uppsatsen och mitt kandidatarbete utveckla ett unikt kursupplägg av tillämpad matematik for spelutveckling i 2-D. Detta upplägg baseras på analys av tidigare erfarenheter av matematikstudier och samtal med övriga kursansvariga. Den be?ntliga kurslitteraturen som används på tekniska högskolor är väldigt avancerad i sin forklaring av teori.

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze homelessness in a medium-sized municipality from an organizational perspective. Some of the central questions in this study are: How is the cause of homelessness explained? How do different actors in the community address, prevent and combat homelessness? Who is responsible for the homelessness?This study is based on four semi-structured interviews with organizations that work with homelessness. The analysis is based on problem definition theory.The result of this study shows that homelessness is a problem in this medium-sized municipality even if it is not a big one and that it is often closely combined with substance abuse. The responsibility for the homeless is on the homeless themselves and the social service because that causes is, according to this study, individual based.  .

In today's society, the internet is an important part of everyday life. Over recent years the number of electronic services has increased markedly. Communities such as Facebook, consume more of people's time than 5-10 years ago. How can public authorities benefit from these communities or are the municipalities not ready for this? The municipalities determine how their resources should be allocated based on the municipality's needs.

Under 1990-talet har det skett en markant ökning då det gäller högstadieungdomar som provat narkotika. Sedan 2001 har antalet legat på en konstant nivå enligt CAN (Central förbundet för alkohol- och narkotika upplysning). Ökningen har skett under en tid då informationen och kunskapen om narkotika och dess konsekvenser varit relativt kända. När ungdomar börjar på högstadiet ökar risken att de kommer i kontakt med alkohol, tobak och narkotika. Eftersom ökningen sker under högstadieperioden borde de förebyggande insatserna mot droger vara som starkast då.

Detta arbete handlar om Central Tire Inflation, vilket är ett system för att under färd variera däcktryck. Arbetet syftar till att se vilka erfarenheter skogsnäringen i Sverige har av tekniken. Intervjuer med representanter från skogsorganisationer har genomförts. Resultatet av dessa har jämförts med körningar i Roadex stress-test, vilket är en teoretisk modell för att få fram ett underlag om effekter samt erfarenheter av tekniken. Resultatet som framkommit visar på att skogsnäringen är väl medvetna och positivt inställda till tekniken samt att denna används för att öka tillgängligheten i skogen under förfallsperioder.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att belysa hur verksamma förskollärare beskriver att de arbetar med barnens empatiska utveckling i förskolan. Syftet är även att jämföra förskolepersonalens uppfattningar och se hur arbetet skiljer sig. Undersökningens design var av kvalitativ karaktär där intervjun var central. Vid intervjuerna ställde jag frågor som undersökningspersonerna fick svara på och min uppgift blev att lyssna på vad de hade att säga och skaffade på så vis mig en uppfattning. Min studie har kommit fram till att de intervjuade förskollärarna har samma syn på vad empati är och står för, men att de utövar det på olika sätt i verksamheten.

A study of the experience of collaboration of social welfare secretaries and school staff.The purpose of this study is to illustrate the importance of the work with children and youth through the joint efforts between different authorities. The study deals with the collaboration between the social services and schools in the Ludvika municipality. The objective of the study is to investigate how teaching personnel and headmasters in compulsory schools and the social welfare secretaries in Ludvika, experience the collaboration, and how this works. On the basis of the objective, we have formulated some relevant questions; To what degree are schools aware of the model of collaboration, which is the basis for collaboration within the municipality, and are there any differences in awareness between different categories of employees? Other questions deal with differences in how the social services and schools experience the collaboration, discrepancies between different schools in this regard and if the respondents? experience any obstacles and/or opportunities by the collaboration.Collaboration is, and has been, a pressing issue for a long time in the public debate.

This thesis tries to explore how different strategies of internal communication are used in actual situations within an organization. Specifically, the purpose is to investigate how the internal communication within the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) has been carried out during their work to change their organizational structure, and, how this can be understood in terms of existing theories for strategic communication. The research questions explored are:What are the chosen strategies used to communicate the changes internally?How can these strategies be understood in terms of existing theories?What are the views of the employees on the communication and what are the relations between their views, the chosen strategies and existing theories?The theoretical ground work chosen is mainly the work by Cornelissen (2008), Dalfelt (2005), Johansson (2011) and Larsson (2008). The method chosen for the empirical part of the study is semi-structured qualitative interviews.

Venous leg ulcers are a chronic disease mostly among elderly individuals. The leg ulcers are often painful and interfere with the individual?s daily life. The aim of this literature review was to describe individuals? experiences of living with venous leg ulcers.

Little research has been done within the field of the use of textbooks and teaching aids in Spanish asa foreign language (SFL) teaching in Sweden. This study attempts to find answers to how teachersand teacher students use, view and choose SFL teaching aids. To accomplish this, qualitativeinterviews were carried out with Spanish teachers and Spanish teacher students in a city in northernSweden. A survey was also sent to all current SFL teachers in the central coastal region of Norrland.The study indicates that SFL textbooks are of great importance to the participating teachers andteacher students. Furthermore, a wish to enhance the level of interest of Spanish and Spanish/LatinAmerican culture, provide a varied teaching experience and improve their students? self-esteem arefactors influencing teachers in their use and choices of teaching aids..

Denna uppsats fokuserar på människans subjektiva verklighetsuppfattning kring skogsmiljöer, utifrån ett fenomenologiskt perspektiv. Från olika aktörers livsvärldar har relationen till begrepp som natur, kultur, kulturmiljöer och kulturmiljövård studerats, liksom hur aktörernas förhållande till detta i sin tur påverkar vad som anses vara bevarandevärt. För att genomföra detta har intervjuer utförts med aktörer i anknytning med projektet Skog och Historia eller skogsbruk på såväl central, regional som lokal nivå. Utifrån detta har aktörernas begreppstolkningar interpreterats till att kulturen är den tolkning som var och en av aktörerna gör. Detta resulterar i att kulturbevarandet påverkas subjektivt, vilket i sin tur kan komma att påverka livsvärlden..

This essay in Art History treats the former Central Post Office in Gothenburg, Sweden, and its recent transformation into a luxury hotel. The magnificent original building in neo-classical style, inaugurated in 1925, has been supplemented by a twelve stories high tower in postmodern style containing hotel rooms and suites, creating a complex architecture. The approach of this essay is that of ?lived architecture?, that is, how people experience and act in relation to the building. It is argued that the history of the building is rewritten in the marketing of the hotel and the management?s concept of creating a comfortable ?mini-world?for its guests.
