We have left the industrial society, and instead, we live in a post-industrial knowledge and information society. It is often said that industrial production has disappeared or that it has changed greatly. This means that fewer are employed in the manufacturing sector while the service sector is increasing, resulting in that the boundaries between production and administration decreases. The production goes from mass production to more flexible and specialized solutions. This puts greater demands on the logistics chain that continually need to work to meet customer requirements.

Regionalization has become a catchphrase in European countries during the last twenty years with the establishment of the European Union. An ideational development has occurred during time towards emphasing more politicially powerful regions with the idea of new regionalism. Sweden represents a deviant case study, where regions historically have been politically weak and where Sweden has been characterized as a strong unitary state. The aim of this paper is to analyze the political debate in the Swedish parliament concerning the implementation of a stronger regional level (storregioner) during 2007-2010 and to determine if the debate can be characterized as a case of depoliticalization. The theory of depoliticalization have been introduced by Richard Katz and Peter Mair to explain why political parties through external pressure from europeanisation and globalization tend to become more consensual with similar political agendas, leading to a diminished the lef-right scale.

Sustainability Reporting has emerged and transformed over the past decades as a voluntary practice by companies across industries that desire to show proof of good conduct and environmental; social; and economic responsibility. As industrial food production is one of the largest contributors to contemporary environmental problems, it might be expected that reporting within the industry would be both well established and well understood. Unfortunately, it is neither. In light of the food industry?s considerable environmental impact and the growing popularity of plant-based food as a more sustainable alternative to dairy products, this paper assesses and briefly discusses the Sustainability Reporting of two companies in the plant-based food and beverage industry. The research was designed to compare the practices of Europe-based Alpro and US-based SoDelicious, and this study has two major purposes: to describe the reporting of the case companies and to subsequently compare their practices to the other as well as to global reporting standards. The empirical study in this paper was conducted through content analysis.

The aim of this study was to understand how evaluations are implemented and used in procured nursing homes for elderly. Our methodological approach consisted of a single-case study research. The case in this study was Växjö municipality. Three procured nursing homes for elderly were chosen in the municipality as examples of implementation and use of evaluation. The method for retrieving empirical data and the analyzing of it was based on triangulation.

This study is based on previous research concluding that sub-national actors now function on a complex arena where the nation state is not the sole and self-evident channel to the European Union. Based on that assumption, the thesis is intended to create understanding of the nature of the relationship between the West Sweden regional office and its Värmland commissioners in the case of regional action.The relationship between the regional office and its members was examined in a case study of open consultation around the EU?s new EU 2020 strategy. The questions posed in the thesis are answered by interviews with representatives of West Sweden and certain Värmland members of that organization. The results of the interviews were then analyzed based on a fusion perspective, which addresses various indicators for regional action.The results of the study show that the West Sweden regional office can assume a clearer role in regional influencing, but also that Region Värmland plays an important role in influencing the EU.

Which general outlines are preferable in the relation between organizations and government? From normative theory and method I throw light upon this question by defining and comparing two different democratic standpoints. The substantial democratic standpoint focuses on political effectiveness and the procedural democratic standpoint focuses on equal representation. The normative discussion aims at comparing how well the different standpoints function in political praxis. Since the ambition is to discuss concrete praxis I have also chosen to analyse an extensive case of interest influence in Swedish politics empirically.

In this thesis I have used post-colonial theory to analyze the Uyghurs, a Muslim minority group located in Xinjiang province in the Northwest of China, and their identity shaping process in relation to the dominating Han Chinese. I have analyzed the possibilities to use the power perspectives in post-colonial theory, especially Edward Said's Orientalism and the creation of the Other in a new context, where the main focus is on the Uyghurs through the eyes of Han Chinese. I have argued that Han Chinese, with colonial tendencies, have created two generalizing pictures of the Uyghurs; one romantic picture to use as an exotic tourist attraction and one threatening picture that portray Uyghurs as Islamic terrorists to win support in international politics. The thesis is a qualitative single case study with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding for the Uyghurs as well as examine possibilities of widening the analyze areas for post-colonialism. My conclusion is that the power perspectives in post-colonial theory are usable implements also for non-western contexts and in this case function as a way to understand the identity shaping process for the Uyghurs and their relation to Han Chinese..

The study is a case study about the green urban district, East Kvillebäcken, located in Gothenburg, Hisingen. East Kvillebäcken is the first urban district in Sweden with ambition to build sustainable according to the certification system Miljöbyggnad, which make it a pioneer project. The purpose is to investigate the upcoming and the meaning of the green urban district in East Kvillebäcken and show how public employees think the urban district can affect social, ecologic and economic aspects in the area. Dialogue interviews were done with four public employees, one estate agent and two residents. Local plans and other authority documents were used to get a deeper understanding for the case study.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur familjerättsekreterarna upplever barns situation i samband med deras uppdrag med vårdnads-, boende- och umgängesärenden. Frågeställningarna var; Hur definierar familjerättssekreterarna sitt uppdrag vid vårdnads-, boende- och umgängesärenden vid föräldrars separation? Vilka instrument/verktyg använder familjerättssekreterarna för att ta reda på barns situation i samband med vårdnads-, boende- och umgängesärenden vid föräldrars separation? Hur upplever familjerättssekreterarna att barns fysiska och psykiska hälsa samt relation till föräldrarna påverkas i samband med föräldrarnas separation? Studien utfördes med en kvalitativ forskningsmetod där undersökningen innefattade åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer med familjerättssekreterare. I vår studie har vi utgått från systemteorin och gräsrotsbyråkratin. Detta för att familjerättssekreterarna har myndighetsutövning och att de vid utredningsärenden tittar på hur familjemedlemmarna samspelar med varandra.

Följande studie har sin utgångspunkt i en större organisation inom förskolan. Syftet är att analysera hur begreppet kvalitet konstrueras i förskolans styrdokument och av förskolechefer verksamma i en organisation där pedagogisk dokumentation används som ett verktyg i det systematiska kvalitetsarbetet. Avsikten är också att undersöka eventuella följder användningen av verktyget har för hur kvalitet konstrueras och implikationer för hur ledningen av det systematiska kvalitetsarbetet genomförs. Studien speglar ett specifikt fall och de huvudsakliga stegen är att med utgångspunkt i Faircloughs kritiska diskursteori och uppsatsens frågeställningar undersöka hur kvalitet konstrueras i det aktuella fallet. Resultatet visar att användningen av pedagogisk dokumentation som verktyg i det systematiska kvalitetsarbetet får följder för hur kvalitet konstrueras och att de olika betydelser av kvalitet som konstitueras får följder för hur det systematiska kvalitetsarbetet konstrueras, leds och genomförs i organisationen.

Design beskrivs ofta som form och funktion med utgångspunkt i givna förutsättningar. Jag benämner dessa förutsättningar begränsningar som ger ett motstånd. En parallell till matlagning kan dras för att beskriva designprocessen. Råvarorna är det givna materialet som av kocken med hjälp av kokkärl och verktyg kombinerar ihop till en rätt. Resultatet är förhoppningsvis men inte alltid gott däremot ofta överraskande.

This paper describes the integration of environmental assessment in Swedish municipality comprehensive planning through a chosen case study. The implementation of a new EGdirective in Swedish law, concerning Assessment of the effects of certain plans and programmes on the environment, should lead to some changes in the way Swedish municipalities' deals with environmental issues in their comprehensive plans. This could later on lead to new preconditions for municipality comprehensive planning. The purpose of this study was to investigate how the planning organisation in the municipality adapts to new regulations for impact assessment of comprehensive plans required by the Planning and Building act. Secondly the purpose was to partly participate in the early stages of the planning process and thereby indicate and identify possible environmental impacts regarding the aspects of land and water. This was done as a case study in a well defined part of the process.

Just nu pågår stora förändringar i byggbranschen. Kostnaderna för att bygga är idag för stora och branschen letar efter nya metoder för att effektivisera byggandet och minska kostnaderna. Genom att använda sig av den relativt nya Building Information Modeling-tekniken (BIM) öppnar sig flera nya dörrar för vad som är möjligt.BIM är kort sagt en digital modell där all information för hur ett byggprojekts utformning, konstruktion, utrustning och förvaltning ska hanteras. En gemensam modell skapas som arkitekten, byggnadskonstruktörer, vvs-konstruktörer, el-konstruktörer och förvaltare har tillgång till. Ändringar som görs i modellen blir direkt synliga för de andra parterna.Den gemensamma modellen ligger lagrad på en gemensam server för att underlätta kommunikationen.I produktionen har man mycket att vinna av BIM.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine if POC manage to keep cohort interplay between their identity and image.Theoretical framework: This paper is led from theories in area about communicating identity and image. The theories that are relevant to this paper to see the interplay between identity and image is communication theory and brand theories based on associations. From these theories we have composed a model that shows the communication led from identity throughout image in company?s with many distribution channels. It shows what associations that build identity and image and also the complication and threat that the interplay is being exposed to.Methodology: We have chosen to do this examination as a case study.

Syftet med vårt utvecklingsarbete var att försöka se om användandet av Storylinemetoden som ett verktyg i engelskundervisningen ökar motivationen att lära sig engelska. Undersökningsgruppen var åldersintegrerad år 7?9 och bestod av totalt 74 elever. Vi valde att använda oss av enkäter som undersökningsmetod eftersom vi ville få ett brett underlag till vår analys av resultatet. Genom enkäterna ville vi få reda på elevernas inställning och motivation till det engelska språket.
