Den här uppsatsen behandlar hur synen på genus och kön inom arkeologisk tolkning kan vidgas med hjälp av Judith Butlers teorier. Uppsatsen är ett försök att finna vägen till tolkningar som går utanför en normativ syn på kön och sexualitet. Med hjälp av Judith Butler har jag utvärderat tidigare gjorda tolkningar av bronsålderns hällristningar och två danska ekkistegravar (Egtvedsgraven och Skrydstrupsgraven), samt själv sökt finna alternativa tolkningar av dessa..

This paper aims to examine the heteronormativity that is present in John Galsworthy?s The Forsyte Saga. This is achieved by performing a queer reading of the text with the help of Swedish Queer theorists Fanny Ambjörnsson and Tiina Rosenberg. I study the norm and how it is enforced by law, society and family. To get a complete image of the heteronormativity I also need to analyze the gender presented in the saga.

SAMMANDRAGI denna teoretiska uppsats jämförs och problematiseras filosofen Hannah Arendts (1906-1975)begrepp handling och filosofen Judith Butlers (1956-) begrepp performativitet. Genom dettaså jämförs även deras respektive användning av begreppet politik. Syftet med uppsatsen är attproblematisera användningen av dessa begrepp samt att jämföra dem med varandra ochargumentera för de likheter som finns. Ytterligare ett syfte är att argumentera för HannahArendts viktiga bidrag till samtida genusvetenskaplig forskning. !Först redogör jag för Hannah Arendts och Judith Butlers användning av begreppen var försig för att sedan göra jag en jämförande begreppsanalys där jag jämför likheterna mellan derasanvändning av begreppen.Mina slutsatser är att det finns ett flertal likheter mellan Arendt och Butlers teorier kringpolitik och villkoren för det mänskliga.

The aim of this essay is to answer the question of how ? in what ways ? Jeanette Wintersons Written on the Body and Sarah Waters? Tipping the Velvet are queer texts. My method is that of a thematic analysis, focusing on words and phenomenon related to definitions of the multi facetted term ?queer?. The analysis covers themes of lesbian focus, performativity, performance, speech-acts, and heteronormative and queer relationships.

I have examined the conditions for participation in an opera masquerade. Theoretical support has been found in Michail Bachtin, Richard Schechner and Judith Butler. The main study object has been a masquerade organised by the workers of The Royal Opera of Stockholm in 1925. The masquerade is examined as a social practise with distinct aesthetic framing. The analysis shows that the opera masquerade share some characteristics with the medieval carnival culture as described by Bachtin, but differ in many ways as well.

The aim of this essay is to answer the question of how, and in what ways Martina Bigert?s and Maria Thulin?s picture Allt om min buske (literally, All about my bush) is queer. In this essay, I make a queer feminist analysis of four novels written by the Swedish author Sigge Stark. The novels are: Uggleboet, Manhatareklubben, Cirkus Demonio och Baskerflickan. AbstractThis paper is an analysis of Virginia Woolf's novel Orlando. My rendering of the novel is inspired by queer-theory and in particular the theories of Judith Butler. In my interpretation I have put my focus mainly on androgyny and transvestite disguise. The purpose of my analysis is to create an understanding of the theme of androgyny in Orlando and see how it relates to the writer's feminist approach. I?ve also used concepts like transvestite disguise and cross-dressing to interpret the main character, Orlando's constant changes of clothes, between female and male clothing.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the female experience as it is spoken of in the novel Sindhia written by Rut Hillarp (1954) and how the main character in the book violates the experience from a queer perspective. My aim is to through a close reading highlight a number of discourses that underpin the book's imminent theme of love and submission.According to Norman Faircloughs critical-discourse analysis, the text one reads produces a certain amount of discourses that one consumes. This way there is a dialectical interaction that can be set into a practical analysis together with a suitable academic perspective. My main purpose with this paper of John Steinbecks Of mice and men is to both analyze the long-lived structures and the unique individual destinies of the novel. I employ the method of the historical Annales-movement and use three divided levels in my analysis to try to capture these high structures and low moments of humanity in Structure, Konjuncture and the Individuality. The first level, Structure, is used to see how long-lived almost invisible geographic structures set the human act of condition. The second level, Konjuncture, is easier to grasp in understanding of time and embraces for example economic structures as the industrialism. The last level of Individuality is the fastest in time and easiest to understand but in the long run also the least important.

Vi utgår ifrån Judith Butler och att genus är något som hela tiden skapas och vårt syfte är att se hur detta skapas i filmerna. Filmerna följer de normer för maskulinitet och feminitet som finns och underhåller dessa. Även om undantag förekommer så är filmerna i stort stereotypa. Den heterosexuella normativiteten är i centrum och den blir i stort sett inte ifrågasatt.

The aim of this essay is to investigate how the author JT LeRoy (a. i. Laura Albert) questions and broadens the concept of authenticity in literature and authorship. My study is based on LeRoy?s novel Sarah [2000] and the collection of short stories The heart is deceitful above all things [2001], as well as articles written about the construction of Laura Albert?s alter ego JT LeRoy.

Denna uppsats sträcker sig utanför akademin och frågar sig hur en publik kan uppfatta föreställningen La dolce vita. Jag menar att dragshowgruppen After Dark har potential att destabilisera synen på kön, genus och sexualitet som fasta binära kategorier, och undersöker detta i en receptionsstudie. I relation till Judith Butlers performativitetsteori görs med hjälp av deltagande observation och intervjuer med personer som sett showen en jämförelse av hur tolkningarna kan skilja sig åt beroende på tillgång till dessa teoretiska verktyg. Skillnaden visar sig vara stor, informanterna ser främst en problematisering av sexualitet medan det sett utifrån Butler är kön och genus som fokuseras. Mina läsningar visar att i Gayle Rubins sexuella värdehierarki (1984) tilldelas positioner utifrån sexuellt aktörskap, och det är således sexuella subjekt som kan emanciperas.
