Syfte/Purpose: Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera hur statliga myndigheter
definierar och följer upp sina prestationer, i förhållande till uppsatta mål
för verksamheten./ The main purpose with this thesis is to research how
government agencies define their performance indicators and measure them up in
relationship to the goals.
Metod/Method: Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ fallstudie, där vi har utfört sex
semistandardiserade intervjuer på Blekinge Tekniska Högskola och Boverket. Det
material som vi har fått från intervjuerna samt annat sekundärt material, utgör
grunden för vår analys och slutsats./ We have done a qualitative case study,
where we did six semi standard interviews at Blekinge Institute of Technology
and Boverket. The material we got from the interviews and other secondary
material make up the ground, for our analysis and conclusion.

A change in capital structure means a change in the cost of capital for a company and by that a change in the value for the stockholder. This Master Thesis studies the relation between capital structure and business risk.
Automatiserad administration av virtuella plattformar : Jämförelse av prestanda i administrativa operationer mellan olika virtualiseringsplattformar
Virtualisering är något som växer fram mer och mer. Genom fördelar såsom användning av den fysiska hårdvarans fulla kapacitet och lägre energiutnyttjande är det en bra investering att flytta fysiska servrar till virtuella sådana. Automatiserade processer som exempelvis administration av virtualiseringsplattformar kan bidra till mindre arbetsbörda och mer utfört arbete. Det är då viktigt att administrationen går snabbt för att spara så mycket tid som möjligt och kunna utföra så många operationer som möjligt.I arbetet jämförs två stora aktörer på virtualiseringsmarknaden, VMware ESXi samt Citrix XenServer. Dessa två virtualiseringsplattformar jämförs sedan prestanda i administrativa operationer.

The purpose of this study was to determine if and how the city district of Södra Innerstaden in Malmö, by using the Skärholms model, demand their client to reciprocate. The first problem set was to see how the demand was shown in the social service act from year 1998. From there the motives behind the introduction of the Skärholms model in city district of Södra Innerstaden were researched and also if there were a demand on reciprocity in city district of Södra Innerstaden public administration. The study was conducted in an exploratory way. The method used was to describe the idea behind Skärholms model after examining documents from the public administration.
E-BUSINESS, WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR: AN EXPLANATORY STUDY OF FIVE COMPANIES? E-BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
The notion of firms interacting with technology is not new; these types of systems were already in place in the mid eighties. E-business users worked with connections between their inbound logistics and procurement systems, and suppliers? order-entry systems. When these connections were described for the first time the vertical links between two, or more, value chains in a value system received more attention in firm strategy. The design of the linkages in the value system was said to be a product of the need for coordination and relative bargaining power.

The aim with the study is to find key factors relating to internal marketing and to improve the process between the operating organization and its customers. A qualitative study is carried out within an organization active in the Swedish healthcare. The qualitative approach is carried out by collecting empirical data through observations, personal interviews and group interviews.The Physiotherapy Clinic at the Karolinska University Hospital is in the focus of the empirical study. The study locates existing differences in perceptions and comes up with recommendations for actions to improve the process of organisations within the Swedish healthcare and their customers. The study's results are that internal marketing can bring a lot to service-selling organizations and that the organizations internal conditions are as important as the external ones.Communication appears to be a key factor for an organization that has applied internal marketing.
Social Software Roadmap : Implementering av sociala verktyg internt i organisationer
Today more and more companies are looking out to adopt a new generation intranet, a social intranet where all employees can engage to express themselves and share information. There are large expectations on these new services, which have the opportunity to create high business value if used actively and qualitatively. However, there is a large challenge in knowing how to best implement these services in an organization in order to achieve this. This paper has investigated how an implementation should be made by defining obstacles for the implementation and adoption, discussing how they could be overcome, investigating what incentives could be used to foster usage and finding common success factors for an implementation.By a qualitative research method, consisting of five case studies and two focus area interviews we found a number of steps that must be followed for an implementation to be successful. First the conditions of the organization must be investigated in order to see whether or not social tools are suitable.
Förändringen som kom av sig: En fallstudie av kommunikationens roll i en förändringsprocess
This study takes place within a publicly owned art producing organization and dwells on the problems of a change process that the organization was involved in. Both leaders and staff were disappointed by the way the change process had developed. The management team explained the outcome by referring to the uniqueness of working with artists who constantly put their own personal objectives before the benefit of the whole. The aim of this study is to find a complementary explanation to the one the management team provided us with; an explanation that can help in the understanding of the dynamics of a change process. Can perhaps theories on information, communication and change processes give an alternative explanation to why the change process faltered? To investigate this, we have used a qualitative single case study.

This thesis investigates how the level of implementation of New Public Management affects an organization?s efficiency. According to theory, a high level of implementation leads to a more efficient organization. This thesis is based on two case studies conducted on two units within Stockholms Stad. One of the units shows a high level of implementation of NPM and a high level of efficiency.

The purpose of this master thesis is to examine some information aspects of decision-making in Swedish municipal committees. Which are the information needs and how do they emerge? How is the needed information sought and received and which are the sources? How do the members of the committees use information when making decisions? To answer these questions qualitative interviews were conducted with four politicians (two chairpersons representing the political majority and two vice-chairpersons representing the opposition) and three officials in a municipality with a population of about 50 000. The politicians were interviewed in capacity of decision-makers, whereas the officials from the local administration are of interest through their decision-supportive role, which includes providing of reports and other information. The examination indicates that even if the conditions to some extent differ between the committees, the administration is highly influential: Notions and proposals about action may come from inhabitants, organizations, politicians etc., but are handled by the administration, which often is the problem formulating actor, through which the informational needs nearly always are canalized.

Transdermal drug delivery, besides painfulinjections with syringes, has long been associatedwith small size particle pharmaceuticals, which candiffuse through the skin. This method of drugadministration has only been applicable on a smallnumber of drugs, where active molecules are smalland delivery time should or can be long.Other drug delivery options are oral administrationand injection with hypodermic needles (ordinaryhospital syringes). In oral administration thestomach and liver tend to dissolve the drug and theeffect becomes more difficult to anticipate, anddrug delivery rates difficult to control. Hypodermicneedles are used as a mean of drug injectiondirectly into the bloodstream. This method ispainful and risks infection due to tissue damageand skin penetration.One way to get a painless non-damaging techniquewith high delivery rate that still can delivery largemolecules is to manufacture an array of microscopichollow needles and equip them with a pumping unitthat delivers the correct amount of drugs.This thesis shows the technique and possibility ofmanufacture micromachined needles using low costtechniques of Ion Track Technology (radiation ofheavy ions creates porous materials), electrolessdeposition (non-current activated wet chemistrymethod of depositing metal) and electroplating.

Syfte: Att identifiera hur relationerna mellan företag/kund ser ut samt att se
om det finns en skillnad i kundprofil mellan två företag som tillämpar två helt
olika försäljningskanaler inom lastpallsindustrin.
Metod: Vi har gjort en kvalitativ undersökning där vi granskat två företags
kundrelationer och kundprofiler. Vi intervjuade två företagsledare med olika
sorters försäljningskanaler men inom samma bransch. När vi skrev ner våra
intervjufrågor var vi tvungna att tänka på två saker.
Skola i förändring : Politisering och företagisering av en kommunal och en fristående gymnasieskola
In this essay I examine how a municipal- and an independent upper secondary school compare to the ideal types the Company and the Political organization and how that affects the school practise as it?s described in policy documents. The conclusions are that the municipal school on a number of variables correlate to the ideal type the Political organization. At the same time the school reforms of the 1990s are considered as an intention to ?companylize? the municipal school and a number of tendencies how that have affected the municipal school are shown.
