Inclusive business and shared values : case study of Stora Enso in Lao PDR

Businesses role in society is changing. Corporations are expected to take responsibility, not only for their traditional business conduct, but also for social and political issues. A rise in globalization and international trade has led to an increased interest in the concept of CSR. Accordingly, stakeholders are expecting multinational companies to be accountable for existing issues in developing countries. New business models are needed to meet increased expectations of responsibility and shared value creation. Based on an understanding of the need for new business models a multinational corporation is studied in a local context, where a radically new way of doing business is developed.

Förväntningar och övergångar från skolans värld ur ett mångfaldsperspektiv - en jämförande studie mellan elever på handelsprogrammet och på Ky-utbildningen inom Haninge Kommun

I have chosen in my study, to do a comparison between pupils´ expectations of the future, how they would meet adult life or working life after their education. These pupils are ending their programmes during this term. One program is Business and Administration Programme and the other programme is Qualified Vocational Education in Business, which is a post-secondary education and training programme. This investigation is done in Haninge municipality.The purpose of this study has been to investigate if these students´ expectations differ between each other, compared with factors such as age, sex, ethnical origin and different study programmes. Further it has been interested to see how teachers and future employer meet these pupils´ expectations in education or in their planning working life.There have been two other important questions to investigate in this study.

We are living in network society, where information and communication together with the technical development stands in the centre. Characteristic for network society is quick changes, new meaning of time and space, convergence and new possibilities of communication. Network society contains new technical developments, several with thepurpose to improve the possibilities of communication between human beings, which in some ways creates new social demands and expectations. In this study, I focus on the Internet, which is an important channel for the information, communication and marketing in network society. As whole network society, the Internet is constantly developing.This study, implemented with qualitative interviews, has the purpose to give new, deep and interesting knowledge about business to business companies? communication and marketing on the Internet.

Kulturkrockar vid internationalisering genom förvärv och fusioner : En fallstudie av det fusionerade bolaget ELISAD AB

The amount of mergers and acquisitions between international and Swedish actors increased due to the Swedish entry in the European Union. In many cases, conflicts between manage-ment and employees made visible the cultural differences between nations and organisations. As a result of these conflicts many companies experience difficulties in operating on the Swedish market and in some cases they have even been forced to leave it.The starting point of this study is analysing how the management at a foreign company in Sweden, that has undergone a merger, has been affected in the meeting with the Swedish business culture. The analyse has got three different perspectives as a base; management, market knowledge and culture.This study is accomplished on the basis of a deductive approach. It is a case study where the empirical foundation derives from five interviews.

Effektiv ekonomistyrning inom den offentliga sjukvården - en studie av Habiliterings- och rehabiliteringskliniken på Blekingesjukhuset

The purpose with our study is to investigate in which way a public field of action has succeeded to make the economic management more effective and also find out which factors/activities that have contributed to get the result of the budget in balance. We also want to find out in which degree the balanced scorecard (BSC) has contributed to the positive result of the budget. Method: We had started out from the qualitative method theory which is based on the hermeneutic theory, because we will interpret and understand. With this starting point we have chosen to use a case study with semi-standardised interviews supplemented with information from different documents, and to get the theoretic connection we have studied literature in the subject field. The analyse and even the theoretic connection have then started from, for this study, a special analyse model. Results: Througt systematic and target-concentrated management and through cooperated factors, with stress on a leadership that is both professional, visionary and un-combined, and there the staff´s is seen as a important resource, and there it is a clear strategy and objective to keep the cost of the activity within assigned budgetframe, has a public field of action, as the clinic of hab./rehab.

This examination paper is the account for the author?s work while arranging and registrating the business archives and business records of the Herman Bergman?s Foundry in Stockholm, Sweden. It is part of the one year Masters program in Archival Science at the University of Uppsala. The records are from the beginning of the 1900s to the 1970s. Most of the business archives are from he 1940s to the 1950s.

Hyperkonkurrens - En studie i tillverkningsindustrin

Problemställning: Enligt D'Aveni befinner sig 80 % av branscherna inom USA:s tillverkningsindustri i hyperkonkurrens. Vi ser ingen tendens att hyperkonkurrensens drivkrafter skulle ha mattas av sedan D'Aveni myntade begreppet hyperkonkurrens 1994. Detta till trots finner vi lite forskning inom området i Sverige. Därför vill vi ta reda på om hyperkonkurrensen kan ses i Sverige och hur företagen som är utsatta för den agerar ur ett strategiskt perspektiv. Syfte: Vi vill undersöka hur företag som befinner sig i hyperkonkurrens agerar ur ett strategiskt perspektiv, och söka förklaringar till deras agerande. Metod: Vi har studerat tre olika teorier för konkurrens, monopolistisk-, resursbaserad- och hyperkonkurrens och olika syn på strategier som används inom nämnda konkurrenssituationer. Den empiriska undersökningen har bestått av tre intervjuer med personal på Wilden, Cascades Djupafors och Tarkett.

För att uppnå syftet använder vi oss av en momentumstrategi på medel-lång sikt, som menar att aktiemarknaden tenderar att behålla samma avkastningsmönster för perioder av nästkommande 3-12 månader. Syftet är också att undersöka om marknaden är effektiv i svag form. Metod: Studien utgår från en deduktiv forskningsansats där vi utifrån befintliga teorier inom ämnet tagit fram en frågeställning. Utifrån frågeställningen har hypoteser testats och analyserats med empiri.

Background: Different cultures meet to a greater extent than before as a result of the increasing globalisation. Therefore, international leaders have to count on greater differences in behaviour of their employees within organisations than they have experience from. It can consequently be difficult in an international environment to understand what motivate individuals of a different culture. Purpose: The purpose of this report is to make greater understanding for how national cultures influence leaders methods to motivate their employees in an international environment in Spain where two different cultures confront. Performance: The study has been made by 14 qualitative interviews with Spanish and Swedish leaders in Spain.

Purpose: The purpose of this essay is to study how the hotel chain Radisson SAS works with prolonged customer relations with their business clients, with other words the clients that have business agreements with them.Methods: This study will contain an inductive approach and qualitative methods. The qualitative research method is in the shape of a deep interview with the sales manager of Radisson SAS and qualitative interviews of chosen business clients to the hotel.Results: The results of this investigation show that business clients are controlled by what kind of agreements their company has.The companies sign agreements with hotels and hotel chains that are able to satisfy big parts of their needs, if not all of them.With the help of flexible solutions, a well known brand, and good relations, Radisson SAS has made sure that their business clients have prolonged their agreements.They are a global hotel chain near transports, and business clients feel secure with Radisson SAS..

Lokalisering av detaljhandelsföretag i Ronneby och Bräkne-Hoby - Mest betydelsefulla faktorer

Vi har funnit att beräknat kundunderlag, geografiskt läge, utbudet av kompletterande butiker i närheten, hyres-/lokalkostnader, konkurrenter, tillgängliga parkerings-platser samt lokalerbjudande från fastighetsägare var de mest betydelsefulla faktorerna vid lokalisering av detaljhandelsföretagen i Ronneby och Bräkne-Hoby. För detaljhandelsföretagen Dressmann, Karlsson, Matex var det främst de lämpliga butikslägena i centrum av Ronneby som påverkade besluten om lokalisering. För detaljhandelsföretaget Överskottsbolaget var det även läget, och i detta fallet var det placeringen av butikslokalen vid knytpunkten med stark trafikerade vägar, den mest betydelsefulla faktorn. Ronneby Kommun samt ABRI spelade viktiga roller vid utvecklingen av Ronneby som handelsstad samt orten Bräkne-Hoby under perioden 1998-2003. Under åren 1998-2001 genomfördes ett ?centrumprojekt? i syfte att uthyra tomma lokaler avsedda för detaljhandelsverksamhet. Beträffande framtida inriktning samarbetar näringslivsenheten i Ronneby Kommun med Ronneby Handels- och Intresseförening i syfte att skapa en tjänst som centrumledare, vilken skulle analysera handelsutbudet samt hitta eventuella områden som behöver förstärkas. ABRI spelade en viktig roll vid lokaliseringen av detaljhandelsföretagen i det nya köpcentrumet Handelsbyn Futurum i Bräkne-Hoby.

"Jaha, det gick ju bra den här gången också" : En kvalitativ undersökning av seniorers förhållande till e-handel

In this paper we have examined why seniors do not use e-business to the same extent as other age groups. Seniors belong to the age group that, according to statistics from Statistics Sweden (SCB) in 2011, utilizes e-business the least in relation to the number who use the internet. To understand how seniors reason and perceive the possibility to shop on the internet, we have conducted four interviews with people from 65 years and older. We have let the respondents answer questions regarding utility aspects, e-business interfaces, general shopping habits, risks, and whether or not they usually shop online. We also found out how seniors reason when they sell products and services.
