The world's natural resources are constantly being reduced, which increases the pressure on companies to actively engage themselves in environmental activities. Meanwhile, stakeholders focus is being broadened and it is now important not only to supply a particular product or service but also show that they are actively pursuing an environmental agenda. Companies can use various tools to aid in environmental efforts, but also to demonstrate to the world that the company is actively engaged in environmental activities. One such tool is the environmental standard ISO14001 which provides the company with guidance and support on how the business must manage its environmental efforts. To show a business' progress in environmental performance, it is advantageous to use environmental performance indicators as they enable stakeholders to easily understand how the business works with environmental issues.Authors in the field explain that the environmental management system propagation is limited in service organizations.
Motivation för kreativitet : - En studie om hur ledare kan påverka produktiviteten i svenska medieproducerande företag
Since the mid 1900s the organizational perspective in media producing companies has changed. The focus has shifted from just being a laborer to the person behind the effort. The most important for an efficient and smooth organization is the motivation of the employees and the social working environment. Former research argues that managers must be coaches and that crucial factors for the survival of organizations are creativity, innovation and adaptability. With this study we investigate what motivates employees to use their creative skills.

This is a thesis in Personal- och Arbetslivsprogrammet at Dalarna University with thepurpose of evaluating an education initiative in Borlänge kommun. The educationCoaching Leadership is an initiative for the managers in the organization to exercisegood leadership and the education also serves as an incentive for managers. Eightbusiness managers and one from the HR staff have completed the training. Out of thetotal 9 participants in the training, six of them took part in this evaluation. Based on thethesis aim and questions we wanted to explore participants' attitudes to the education,and what skills and abilities they have acquired on the basis of educational goals andcontent.
Användning av ekonomistyrning i Göteborgs stads gymnasieutbildning -Fallstudie centrum
Bakgrund och problem: Målet med undersökningen är att beskriva kommunens styrsätt avgymnasial utbildningsverksamhet. Eftersom användningsområdet är lite utforskat är sättetolika nivåer i offentlig utbildningsförvaltning använder informell information, formella ochmindre formella styrmedel väsentligt. Undersökningen försöker ta reda på om det modernarebehovet av icke finansiella mått i en decentraliserad organisation är tillgodosett och hurinformation hämtas och används för att styra mot pedagogiska och finansiella mål.Syfte: Att beskriva hur beslutsfattare använder finansiell och icke finansiell information ioffentlig verksamhet för att styra en utbildningsförvaltning.Metod: Intervjuer har genomförts på tre nivåer i organisationen, gymnasieenheter,utbildningsförvaltning och kommunnämnd.Resultat och slutsatser: Största delen av chefernas informationsanvändning kommer fråninformella källor och verksamhetsrapporter. Ekonomin är överordnad och styrs med formellastyrmedlet budget och verksamheten styrs främst med information från informella källor ochverksamhetsrapporter från många typer av möten men även en del bearbetade rapporter somhar betydelse för att budgeten hålls används.Riktningen av uppmärksamhet på problem görs utifrån avvikelser från budget,verksamhetsrapporterna och informella källor.Ansvarsstyrningen utgår från finansiella mått i budgeten och måluppfyllelsen i verksamheten.Beslutsunderlagen hämtas från alla typer av rapporter och informella källor men påverkas avindividerna i verksamheten, politiken och regelverk för hur skolan ska bedrivas.Förslag till fortsatt forskning:? Vilken betydelse för verksamheten och medarbetarna får beslut grundade på muntliginformation istället för rapporter?? Hur påverkar den kommande användningen av BSC på gymnasiet styrningen iutbildningsverksamheten?.

Volunteering involves performing tasks without receiving any compensation for it. Interest in this idealistic commitment to non-profit organizations is growing and the primary reasons for this is to help other people, pursue their interests and contribute to the organization.The purpose of the study is to examine what it is that motivates individuals to commit to non-profit organizations. This study will only examine aid organizations. In order to answer the question four different theories have been used and these are the most fundamental theories in this field. These theories are Maslow's hierarchy of needs, Hertzberg's two-factor theory, Self-Determination Theory and The Gift.

Fysisk aktivitet i ett livslångt perspektiv : En studie om lärares, i ämnet idrott och hälsa,syn på fysisk aktivitet i ett livslångt perspektiv
AimThe aim of this study has been to examine how health enhancement teachers in Montana, USA, view the value of physical activity from a lifelong perspective.In what way does the health enhancement teacher think the importance of physical activity from a lifelong perspective could be presented?What resources are available for teachers to present the value of physical activity from a lifelong perspective?MethodThe issue has been answered through qualitative interviews consisting of six health enhancement teachers, four women and two men, in Montana, USA. One of the teachers worked at an elementary school (for 30 years), three teachers worked at middle schools (20, 10 and 8 years of work experience) and two of the teachers interviewed worked at a high school (30 and 3 years). ResultsThe majority of teachers feel that a wide variety of activities, adapted to an individual level, and the understanding of a healthy lifestyle are important in order for the teacher to present the value of physical activity from a lifelong perspective.The teachers felt they had sufficient material in order to present the value of physical activity, where the school budget provided the teachers with materials every year. In addition to the budget, all the teachers had 12 hours of professional development every year where they could attend conferences or their own choice of professional development.ConclusionWith the help in forms of professional development offered by the school, conferences, meeting with other teachers, and their own choice of development, the teachers instruction techniques could increase which could help the teachers to find the pupils? interest for different kinds of physical activities.KeywordsPhysical education and health, physical activity, SOC, sense of coherence..

Because of the outside world changes and the public interest, the properties should be used as efficiently as possible.Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to describe how control management of facilities looks like a municipality. The paper also seeks to explain how employees work to make the facilities more efficient in a municipality.Methodology: The authors use a qualitative method with open interviews.Theoretical perspectives: The choice of theory was made with the field of management control and facility efficiency in mind. The theory therefore includes management by objectives, internal rents and reward systems, motivation and communication within organizations.Empirical foundation: The organization has undergone a reorganization 2010/2011. There are no clear incentives to reduce facility costs.
Budgetens vara eller icke vara i kommunal verksamhet: en fallstudie av Bodens kommun
Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att skapa förståelse för hur en kommun använder sin budget för att styra sin verksamhet samt att undersöka om kommunen använder sig av andra styrverktyg för att komplettera budgeten. Vi samlade in litteratur på Luleå tekniska universitets bibliotek och kompletterade med en fallstudie på Bodens kommun. Vi gjorde två stycken intervjuer, en med kommunens ekonomichef och en med chefen för socialnämnden. Vi fann att den upprättade budgeten i kommunen stämmer överens med den litteratur vi läst om hur budgeten ska upprättas. Dock såg vi att budgeten inte används som ett styrmedel på det sätt som litteraturen beskriver.

The ISO standard ISO/IEC 17799/SS-627799-2 is a guidance for organizations to
realize their information security goals. In spite of this standard, studies
show flaws regarding information security in organizations. In particular flaws
regarding overall view, knowledge and clear roles and responsibilities have
been observed.
The ISIT (Information Security Integrated Three level) model and its
guidelines, developed in this thesis, help organizations to identify the
required processes and procedures as well as the logical process flow. The
thesis is based on theoretical studies and a case study within a multinational
company.

The purpose of this paper was to understand internal communication?s critical
tradition by studying the interface of the subjective experience and the
objective behavior within a management team. During almost two years this group
was observed, several semi-structured interviews were conducted and a specific
incident was analyzed. The interview texts where analyzed, using the Meaning
Constitution Analysis developed by Roger Sages (2010) at Lund University. The
observations were summarized in sociograms showing relationships in the
organization.

Centrala Direktiv och Lokala Viljor Översättningen av samverkansidéer mellan offentliga organisationer i Ystad
This is an empiric, qualitative, case study of cooperation between two public organizations in Ystad, Sweden (Försäkringskassan and Ystad kommun). The aim of the study is to illuminate why they cooperate and what happen with the idea to cooperate and the organizations when they do. The theoretical tools used are influenced by institutional theory. A translationmodel is used to illustrate what the local actors do with the idea when a decision is made to adopt it and how it affects the actors. The study suggests that the cooperation in Ystad called One Stop Shop is partly done because it's a popular way of organizing public organizations in Sweden and partly because försäkringskassan, aim to upgrade their organization identity.
