A part of the midwife?s profession is to promote and support Breastfeeding. The objective of this study was to describe the perception of the level of support and advice regarding Breast-feeding given to women who have received postnatal care at maternity wards, and to present the opinions of the aforementioned women on how this support could be improved.Method: Women who have given birth at Uppsala University Hospital were routinely asked to fill in internet-based questionnaires regarding their views on the care that they have received. In this study, our data consists of the feedback from four questions in these questionnaires regarding Breast-feeding. The answers to the closed questions were presented with descriptive statistics and the comments on two open questions have been analysed with content analysis.Results: Out of 622 women who were cared for at the hospital?s maternity ward after giving birth, 83% stated that they were very satisfied or satisfied with the information and support they received about Breast-feeding, and 78% expressed the same views regarding the delivery ward.

Background: The purpose of this study was to explore the reasons that motivate women to seek cosmetic Breast augmentation surgery, to examine their self-concept and how they relate to their Breasts.Methods: Ten female postoperative participants who have undergone an aesthetic Breast augmentation surgery on private clinics were interviewed using an unstructured interview format. Self-report questionnaire was used as a complement to the interview. The purpose of this was to examine women's self-concept. Six female postoperative participants who have undergone a Breast augmentation surgery on public clinic and had medically confirmed defect also completed the measures.Results: The results of the interview analysis showed that some participants experienced positive physical and psychological outcomes of surgery and some did not. Several main themes were identified relating to the initial reasons for performing surgery.

AbstractAim: The aim of this study was to describe which coping strategies women use when they have been diagnosed with Breast cancer. In addition, the purpose was to describe how woman?s self-image changes after a mastectomy. Method: A literature review study has been carried out with a descriptive design. The result of the study included 16 articles which were found in the databases: Cinahl, PubMed, PsycInfo and through manual search.

Endast en procent av alla bröstcancerdrabbade per år är män. Det är ett område som är eftersatt i forskningen och dåligt uppmärksammat av både vården och samhället. Syftet med studien var att undersöka mäns upplevelser av att drabbas av bröstcancer. Den metod som användes var i form av en litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats. Urvalet bestod av sju vetenskapliga artiklar som fokuserade på mäns upplevelser av att leva med bröstcancer som sedan granskades utifrån Polit och Becks (2010) kriterier.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer which struck women around the world. When a human is exposed to threat or stress, e.g. Breast cancer, different coping strategies are used in order to cope with the situation by the afflicted person. The aim of this literature study was to describe how women, who suffered from Breast cancer, experienced coping with their situation. Scientific articles were found in the databases Medline (Pub Med) and Cinahl.

Nrf2 är mycket viktig i cellers skydd mor oxidativ- och elektrofil stress och inducerar uttrycket av många olika gener, bland annat olika tranportproteiner. Breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP) är en av transportörerna som tros induceras av Nrf2. BCRP finns i stora mängder i lakterande juvervävnad men också i många andra vävnader där den transporterar läkemedel ut ur cellerna.

Background: The women who were called in for further examinations after a Breast screening had all their examinations and test during one day. This organization has been conducted since 1993 in this clinic, but has not previously been evaluated. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the patients? experiences of the organization, in a radiologic Breastcancer clinic, where all the examinations and the test-results were given at the same day. Method: An empirical quantitative study was performed.

This study describes how the women lived with Breast cancer. The purpose with this study was to describe the womens' view on the disease and the understanding they hade on the social support they were depended on. The method was a study of literature with article reviews according to Polit et al., 2001. As theoretical frame of reference we choose Carnevalis model, Everyday life -Functional state of health. The result showed that the following four groups were formed: Support, positive and negative support off nursing staff and significant others.

Alternative splicing is a process that partly rejects the common definition of a gene ? that one gene codes for one specific protein. By variable combination of coding regions (exons) and exclusion of non-coding regions (introns), formation of several different mRNA-transcripts, and consequently several different proteins, can derive from the same gene. Alternative splicing is an important condition for the development of complex life forms, but it is also a highly sensitive process and inaccurate splicing is the cause of approximately 15 % of mutations that cause genetic diseases. This article presents four genes, BRCA1, BRCA2, ER? and ER?, and inaccurate splicing of these genes increases the risk of developing cancer, particularly Breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

The aim of the work where to investigate the economical result of removing undergrowth trees before first thinning, and a follow-up of the contractors and their compliance with Mellanskog standards. This thesis work was divided in three parts: The first was to find a relation between the net volume from the first thinning and the cost of cleaning undergrowth trees. Secondly there was a follow-up in the field, to investigate whether the contractors have done the undergrowth cleaning according to Mellanskog?s directives.

Featured adjuvant chemotherapy treatment in women with Breast cancer can lead to pain. The aim of this study was to explore, the variety of perceptions and impact of adjuvantchemotherapy-induced pain in daily life, of some women newly diagnosed with Breast cancer.Inclusion criteria were participating in an ongoing stress management projectand chemotherapy of (anthracycline/taxan) in doses of 75mg² or more. Exclusioncriteria were inability to understand and communicate in Swedish and mentalillness. After ethical approval of the sub study in September 2010, women wereconsecutively included through oral and written request. Phenomenologicalapproach was used in the eight interviews and data analysis.

This report presents a thesis project conducted by two students at Mälardalens högskola. The project covers 15 points in industrial design and was conducted during April to June 2014. The principal of the thesis works at Plastic Produkter. The assignment was to develop equipment for an effective way to dose, mix silicon, fill a special designed plastic bag and then seal it. The bag is then formed into a Breast model.When a customer for various reasons decides to do a Breast augmentation or a Breast reconstruction, there may be doubt or uncertainty about the result.

Syfte: Syftet med studien är att sammanställa vetenskap om nyttan med att utföra självundersökning av brösten samt utröna vilken roll sjuksköterskan kan ha. Metod: I en litteraturstudie har nio artiklar valts ut och det vetenskapliga värdet har granskats och utav dessa är sju kvantitativa studier och de resterande två litteraturstudier. Resultat: Resultatet visar att självundersökningar av brösten inte reducerar mortaliteten i bröstcancer. Nyttan av självundersökningarna av brösten råder det delade meningar om då de kan leda till en ökad oro och flera läkarbesök. Sjuksköterskan spelar en viktig roll som pedagog och inspiratör.

Viktminskning kan ge ökad livskvalité pch psykiskt välbefinnande. Ur ett hälsoekonomiskt perspektiv är det av vikt att det hälsofrämjande arbetet startar tidigt i barndomen.
