Background: Poor perineal wound healing and infections after proctectomy surgery, affect a significant proportion of physical and psychological morbidities such as pain, leakage and abscesses. In its lengthening some of these symptoms will lead to extended periods of hospitalization. These kind of postoperative complications are also associated with delays in eventual chemotherapy treatment Aim: To describe the patients experiences of postoperative wound infection as well as communication and self-care support from the nurse specialist after proctectomy due to rectal cancer. Method: A qualitative content analysis was carried out from interviews. Results: Four main categories emerged; ?Coping with postoperative complications?, ?be independent?, ?feel safe?, and ?accept the situation?.

Att leva med cancer innebär ett stort lidande och en människa som lider är en människa i behov av tröst. Att få uppleva tröst är centralt för att en människa ska kunna uppnå och bibehålla hälsa. Det är därför av vikt att vårdgivare känner till begreppet och kan skänka tröst till människor i fysisk eller psykisk vånda. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva cancerpatienters upplevelse av tröst i form av kommunikation. 20 artiklar användes och granskades med manifest innehållsanalys, vilket resulterade i fem kategorier: Att bli lyssnad på och att andra hör det outtalade: Att beröring och samtal ger välbehag, uppmuntran och hopp: Att bli behandlad som en hel person genom att få tid och känna tillit: Att få leva som tidigare och själv ha valfrihet: Att ha närstående som lyssnar när det verkligen behövs.

This study has it´s beginning in the term corporatization and what the consequences will be for the Swedish athletic club, after the implementation of it. The corporatization among the athletic clubs is a very up-to-date-topic after the ?Riksidrottsförbundets? approved the new law constitution in 1999, that gives the athletic clubs the opportunity to change their legal form. We want to create an image that explains the situation in the two athletic clubs we choose for our study. This image helps us to give examples of how the corporatization will affect them.

The primary aim of the current study was to gain increased knowledge about drivers' risk experiences. The study was based on questionnaires answered by 30 private drivers and 30 bus drivers, with 50% men and 50% woman in each group. The study revealed no differences, either between men and women drivers with regard to their experience of risk, or between the groups of private and bus drivers. Gambling is common within the private drivers group. Mistakes are common in all groups.

International research has shown that through the involvement of the school library and the school librarian in the daily school work with the pupils, the pupil´s learning can be increased and reading comprehensions significantly improved.One purpose of this master`s thesis is to study the school librarian as a brand, representing the school library as well as the school librarian and whether there is a correlation between different comprehensions of the professional role of the school librarian. This is done by examining whether there is a difference between a specific librarian´s own perception of their professional role, compared to the image of the school librarian among teachers and principals working in the same school district and by comparing the profile the school librarian expresses with the image that is conveyed through communications via webpage, written and oral information given on services and competences provided by the school librarian and work carried out by her.A difference of comprehension of the school librarian´s competence and work, could be part of an explanation as to why the correlation between the involvement of school librarians in the school work and the improved learning achievements of the pupils has not resulted in the expected measures, regardless of the investments in school librarians and school libraries. The school librarians´ school identity could be difficult to establish. Whether or not the profiles and images of the professional role are consistent with each other is a much more manageable purpose which could go a long way of explaining the circumstances of the school libraries.That is the reason why we have examined whether the comprehension the school librarians have of themselves corresponds with the idea/ conception/ image conveyed to their surroundings, and with the idea/conception/image encompassed by people in their immediate surroundings..

Att drabbas av allvarlig sjukdom leder ofta till chock och desperation. Sjukdom kan ses som ett hot mot integriteten och känslan av värdighet och orsaka lidande hos den sjuka personen. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva människors upplevelser av att leva med obotlig cancer under livets sista månader. En kvalitativ innehållsanalys har använts för att analysera tio internationellt publicerade vetenskapliga studier. Analysen resulterade i fem kategorier: Att känna hopp och vilja leva, att vilja vårdas hemma, att ha behov av stöd, att inte förlora kontrollen och bli beroende av andra, och att ha en tro kan vara en styrka.

Surrogate boycotts are highly threatening for corporations in terms of both economical cost and image damage. All corporations are due to our globalized environment and increased stakeholder fragmentation gradually more risking to become victims of surrogate boycotts, which of nature is hard if not impossible to predict and prevent. Oxytocin is a hormone which plays a crucial role in many reproductive and behavioural functions. It affects many organs and the classical peripheral targets are the mammary glands during lactation and uterus during labour. Oxytocin receptors have recently been described in a variety of normal tissues and primary cell cultures, but also in neoplastic tissues and established neoplastic cell lines, as breast cancer cell lines. The signalling pathways and biological effects of the oxytocin/oxytocin receptor system seem to depend on species, type of tissue, physiological versus neoplastic state and receptor location within the cell membrane.The aim of this project was to find out if the cell proliferation in the canine mammary carcinoma cell line CMT-U27 was affected upon stimulation of oxytocin, and to investigate the presence of oxytocin receptors in these cells. The cell proliferation was examined by using an ELISA-kit, where the absorbance measured is relative to the amount of living cells.

Syfte: Syftet var att undersöka bröstcancerpatienters upplevelse av omhändertagandet i vården i samband med den onkologiska behandlingen. Metod: Studien har genomförts som en kvalitativ studie, baserad på en öppen fråga i en enkätstudie. Urvalet är baserat på det regionala Kvalitetsregistret för bröstcancer i Uppsala/Örebroregionen, sammanlagt 1573 kvinnor erbjöds att delta i studien. Det slutliga deltagarantalet blev 312. Resultat: Bröstcancerpatienter är överlag nöjda med vården i samband med den onkologiska behandlingen.

Här visas genom semiotisk bildanalys på hur omslagsbilderna driver en aktiv kritisk retorik mot ett politiskt system. Vidare visas på populärkulturens möjligheter att med mytologiserad symbolik och bildspråk aktivt opponera sig mot vedertagna konventioner och sociopolitisk verklighet.Den mytologiska retorikens inneboende tvetydighet och förfogandet däröver lyfts fram, liksom hur en artist genom skivomslagsbilden kan formulera sin identitet för att aktualisera och utmana sociala och politiska konventioner och trender..

Bakgrund: Bröstcancer är den vanligaste cancersjukdom bland kvinnor i Sverige och i världen. Mellan 15 och 20 kvinnor insjuknar varje dag. Att få beskedet bröstcancer skapar förde flesta förvirring, ångest och chock såväl hos den som är sjuk som hos de som står den drabbade kvinnan nära. De förändringar som uppstår i samband med sjukdomen och de olika behandlingarna har stor inverkan på kvinnornas självkänsla och upplevelse av hälsa. Syftet: Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att beskriva kvinnors upplevelse av att leva med bröstcancer.

WebGL is a standard for drawing graphics in a web browser. Currently it isn?t widely understood how consistently WebGL performs across a majority of the de- vices that support it. Determining if an image looks correct to a human observer is an interesting problem. The solution for this is useful when developing WebGL applications, since a developer could make better informed decisions during de- velopment.

In this essay I consider a self-experienced dilemma, and review how I, as a preschool teacher, treat a child with special needs. With the support of literature and theory, I can, with an essay writing approach, reflect and analyze the dilemma. In this way I will examine my practical knowledge and personal experiences of a complex situation. I want to examine whether children with special needs who are included in regular preschool activities, really get the support they need and deserve. Do educators have the conditions and does preschool have sufficient resources to realize this? Do educators have sufficient knowledge of how children with special needs should be responded to? I want to find out how the included children's social development and self-image is shaped by the treatment they receive at the preschool.

Vi har tagit del av teorier inom företagsidentitet, företagskommunikation, rekrytering och image. Vi har valt att arbeta utifrån fallstudiemetoden och skomodeföretaget NilsonGroup AB blev vårt studieobjekt. Primärdata har samlats in genom intervjuer och observationer på central och lokal nivå det vill säga båda på huvudkontoret och ute på de enskilda butikerna. Uppsatsens ändamål har varit att se om rekrytering kan användas som kommunikationskanal av företagsidentiteten. Utifrån teori och empiriska studier har vi dragit slutsatsen att rekryteringen har betydelse och kan hjälpa till att förmedla företagets identitet för att på så sätt uppnå en önskvärd image.

In this study, brand theory is applied to the results of a quantitative study of students? evaluation of an attractive employer, in order to identify the factors which explain why certain employers are perceived as more attractive than others.
