BakgrundForskning har visat att Mindfulness-baserade program har positiv inverkan på olika sjukdomar i samband med traditionell behandling. Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) bidrar till snabbare tillfrisknande, minskad stress och ökad livskvalitet (Ludwig & Kabat-Zinn, 2008). Enligt Baer, (2003) uttrycker kvinnor ett behov av komplement till den vanliga bröstcancerbehandlingen. En av de vanligaste komplementmetoderna som används är MBSR ? åttaveckorsprogrammet. SyfteSyftet var att belysa betydelsen av mindfulness och Mindfulnss-based stress reduction i anslutning till behandlingen av kvinnor med bröstcancer.  MetodLitteraturöversikt var den metod som skapar överblick över ett ämne.

We know that more than 2/3 of insured dogs in Sweden are put to death by a veterinarian, which means that almost one third are killed in trauma, lost or die in some other way. An unknown number of these are killed by their owner with no veterinarian involved. This graduate thesis contains a specification of the laws that control euthanasia of dogs and cats in Sweden, and the veterinary medical basics on how to perform euthanasia. The objective is also to give understanding on how pet owners choose to put their animal to death and why, and to discuss whether that is an animal welfare problem. It is legal to kill dogs and cats by shooting, using a sporting gun, provided that it is done according to laws and regulations.

Chapter 6 of the Ch?ndogya Upani?ad has often been treated in works on early Indian philosophy, as well as in some comparative studies on color symbolism. Attempts to place it in a larger framework against the background of late Vedic religion are, however, few, the rationalistic and ?tradition-challenging? appearance of the text having repeatedly been emphasized. But the doctrine contained in the text ? a cosmologic teaching on the three elements constituting the universe, each being characterized by a color (red, white, black) ? and their microcosmic counterparts in the human Body, does have some clear affinities to the worldview of the Br?hma?as and ?ra?yakas, which posits a series of similar correlations (bandhu-) between macro- and microcosmos.

This study was performed in order to investigate the difficulty in diagnosing retrobulbar disease with ultrasound. A retrospective study was accomplished to investigate the use of ultrasound in patients with suspected retrobulbar problems, and how often the examination is diagnostic. The computer based patient files, at the University of Agricultural Science in Uppsala, were searched for dogs with suspected retrobulbar disease. During 1999-01-01-2004-04-14, 14 patients fulfilling the search criteria were found. The patient records were studied, and the written reports from the ultrasound examinations were compared with the printed pictures from the examinations.

Syfte och frågställningarSyftet med studien har varit att undersöka hälsa med fokus på kostvanor, fysisk aktivitet och Body Mass Index (BMI) hos personer med utvecklingsstörning i en gruppbostad. Vidare syftar studien till att beskriva hur personalen arbetar med nämnda faktorer. Syftet har lett fram till följande frågeställningar:1. Hur förhåller det sig för två personer i gruppbostaden med följande faktorer: energiförbrukning, energiintag, energibalans och kost enligt Svenska näringsrekommendationer?2.

Jönköping Energi AB (JEAB) is a local energy supplier for the county of Jönköping. JEAB also maintain the local Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). They have recently installed GPON in a portion of their network and have connected it to the MAN via an Extreme switch.However JEAB would prefer to use Cisco equipment instead of Extreme since the MAN comprises of Cisco hardware. They require a solution to connect GPON to the MAN with a recently purchased line card (Cisco 7600 ES20) which can be installed in a Cisco 6500 Catalyst switch. There is also a possible solution with an Alcatel-Lucent 7450 ESS-1 switch.

Bakgrund: Varje år får närmare 8000 kvinnor i Sverige diagnosen bröstcancer. Den vanligaste behandlingsmetoden är det kirurgiska ingreppet mastektomi som innebär antingen avlägsnande av hela bröstet eller att endast en del av körtelvävnaden tas bort. Bröst har sedan urminnes tider förknippats med kvinnlighet och att genomgå en mastektomi upplevs ofta av kvinnor som ett trauma. Mastektomi är inte bara ett enkelt ingrepp utan det medför fysiska och psykiska konsekvenser som påverkar kvinnors vardagsliv. Syfte: Att beskriva kvinnors upplevelse av att förlora ett bröst efter mastektomi.

The aim of this study was to investigate whether a dietary change, physical activity or a combination of both gave the best result when treating obesity, concerning weight loss and BMI. Excessive weight and obesity are today a big health-issue and it is estimated that 10 % of the men and 12 % of the women in Sweden have a BMI over 30, i.e. are suffering from obesity. The corresponding number for children is 3 %. No one can say for sure what causes obesity but there are many theories.

Syftet med denna studie var att se vilka budskap angående hälsa och träning som de tryckta medierna, i detta fall SOLO Magazine och Women?s Health, sänder ut. Dessutom undersöktes hur dessa budskap tolkades av läsarna, hur dessa förhåller sig till tryckta respektive sociala medier samt hur de uppfattar att kvinnor porträtteras i media. Studien grundar sig i Stuart Halls kommunikationsmodell encoding/decoding och omfattar en receptionsstudie som är baserad på en retorisk textanalys och därefter en analys av deltagarnas avkodning. Läsarna representerades i denna studie av två fokusgrupper där samtliga deltagare föll inom de valda mediernas målgrupp; kvinnor i åldrarna 18-35.

In Peter Weiss debut Fra?n o? till o? (1947) the ?I? travels from island to island as a castaway. The years during exile and the years that followed the exile until his breakthrough in Germany with Schatten des ko?rpers des Ku?tchens (1960), Abschied von den Eltern (1961) and Fluchtpunkt (1962), were the formative years of Peter Weiss authorship.

The presence of cystic ovarian follicles represents an important ovarian dysfunction and is a major cause of reproductive failure in dairy cattle. A cystic ovarian follicle is a persistent follicular-like structure on one or both of the ovaries. It is at least 2,5cm in diameter and it has to persist for at least ten days while a corpus luteum is missing. There are two kinds of cystic ovarian follicles, those who have a progesterone production and those who have not. A clear definition for this condition is lacking, probably because the heterogeneity of the clinical signs and the complexity of the disorder.

Joint-related diseases including hip dysplasia (HD) and elbow arthritis (ED) can in advance cases lead to that the dog has to be put down, and these diseases are also the cause to expensive veterinary treatments of many large breeds, including Labrador Retrievers. The aim of this study was to make a follow-up study on the 271 Labradors, who previously participated in a study on the effect of nutrition and exercise on hip and elbow status in a birth cohort born year 2000. That study investigated the relationship between nutrition, exercise, and HD and ED. A follow up study on the same dogs at 5-6 years of age investigated the clinical effects of the radiological hip and elbow status at 1 years of age and if was effected by Body condition score. This study took place in 2011-2012 and 187 Labrador retrievers participated.

De senaste åren har i Sverige och Europa, bland yrkesarbetande noterats en ökning av långtidsfrånvaro på grund av sjukskrivning samt sjukpensionering. Detta medför stora kostnader för de berörda länderna. I Sverige har debatten om hur detta ohälsotal skall sänkas, förts på olika nivåer och i olika forum. Regeringens utredare för ?Ökad hälsa i arbetslivet?, Jan Rydh, har lyft fram vikten av tidig rehabilitering samt värdet av att kunna identifiera riskpersoner.

Sweden?s health care is continuously subjected to economical cutbacks, which results in enormous workloads. To prevent problems that arise in these situations, it is of great importance to take measures to increase the efficiency of the working process. This goal can be obtained by increasing our knowledge of the Body, under both normal and sickly conditions. That is, by sharing knowledge of the various medical service units within Stockholm?s county council and thus elaborates diagnostics.
