With the advance of the modern information society, the importance of reliable identity authentication has increased dramatically. Using biometrics as a means for verifying the identity of a person increases both the security and the convenience of the systems. By using yourself to verify your identity such risks as lost keys and misplaced passwords are removed and by virtue of this, convenience is also increased. The most mature and well-developed biometric technique is fingerprint recognition. Fingerprints are unique for each individual and they do not change over time, which is very desirable in this application.

I takt med att vår medvetenhet om miljöns påverkan på vårt välbefinnande ökar, så ökar också behovet av en kunnig yrkeskår som planerar vår livsmiljö utifrån de rådande förutsättningarna. Landskapsarkitektyrket är ett relativt ungt yrke, vars tunna yrkeshistorik bidrar till en allmänhet som generellt är dålig på att definiera yrkesrollen. Medias framställning och tolkning av yrket är också en starkt bidragande faktor till att den skeva bilden av yrkesrollen ytterligare förstärks. Syftet med denna pilotstudie är att granska ett antal utvalda medier, vars information ställs i motpol till ett antal intervjuade yrkesverksamma landskapsarkitekter. Resultatet förstärker min teori om att det finns en utbredd okunskap hos såväl kollegor som allmänheten.

The project concerns a predevelopment work for Scania AB, a leading manufacturer of heavytrucks, and was performed as a master thesis work for the program Design and ProductDevelopment at KTH. The purpose of this work was to examine how the work situation of truckdrivers, especially long-haulage drivers, can be improved with respect to prolonged sedentaryoccupation. Mental fatigue and under-stimulation due to low cognitive load during long drivescan be major risk factors for traffic accidents. Physical strain injuries to both the skeleton andmuscles are common for this working group and minimal opportunity for daily exercise alsoincreases the risk of developing blood clots in the legs, which can have serious consequences forthe driver's health.An extensive background study, both theoretical and exploratory, was performed to identify thedrivers' concerns and comfort needs. Various treatments such as massage and active sitting wereinvestigated and existing products within the area studied.

The purpose of this study was to look at teenagers' thoughts and ideas regarding sports and doping, and what they think about information on doping.Important questions for our study were:What do sports mean to teenagers?What thoughts do teenagers have about demands and expectations in sports?What thoughts do teenagers have about doping?What do teenagers think about information on doping?What factors do teenagers think affects a teenager to use doping?The study was made from a qualitative approach. The material consists of twelve interviews with teenagers in the age of 16 - 18. Sports mean a lot to the teenagers in our study and they don't approve of doping in any way. Many of the teenagers asked for more information about doping.

AIM This report studies the Swedish vintage store company Myrorna from a branding perspective.METHOD The study has applied the qualitative method where four personal interviews have taken a fundamental ground. The four respondents are taken from different professionals and from different positions by the reason that the brand would be based on a fair assessment. The study is obtaining data that further was collected from the library of University of Gävle, the articles from Emerladinsight.com and remaining pictures- and text materials is taken from the organization Myrorna. The theoretical material have been adapted on the brand Myrorna and then been used to analyze the empirical part. From the general impression that portrays the brand the researcher leads the discussion.RESULT AND CONCLUSION The result shows that the brand Myrorna in some extent do not fulfill the image the brand in the media mediate, between the illusion and the reality there is an empty space according to the research.

More specifically, it aims to explore the musical value of the expressive aspect of the media text in form of film musical Les Misérables (2012), which has been transmedialised from the novel of the same name, referring to the sound, music and song in relation to the film's visual expression.The research questions are at the core of the essay study: "how is music used to reinforce the cinematic visual expression?" and "how can music signify the narrative and highlight the emotional aspect of the film?" The theoretical framework is based on some of the key scholars assumptions such as Michel Chion (1994) and Claudia Gorbman (1987), who share the same theoretical views that the soundtrack seems powerful when it expresses its participation in a scene?s emotional moods as the music follows the scene?s rhythm, the image?s flow and contributes emotional and musical codes of emotions and expressions. Syftet med detta arbete var att få en insikt i hur privata Facebookanvändare uppfattar artisters identitet på Facebook. Intresset väcktes då jag för en tid sedan lade märke till det ökade användandet av Facebook bland såväl företag som kommersiella personer. Facebook har på kort tid kommit att bli en plattform från vilken många personer och företag väljer att visa och marknadsföra sig själva på. I studien undersökte jag begreppet identitet och hur privata Facebookanvändare förknippar detta begrepp med artisters Facebookanvändande. För att uppnå mitt syfte utförde jag en undersökning med en kvalitativ ansats.

Problem: Hur kan mobiltelefoners användargränssnitt användas för att kommunicera emotionella eller psykologiska signaler till användaren? Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att skapa förståelse för vilka faktorer i användargränssnittet till en mobiltelefon som generar en emotionell eller psykologisk reaktion hos användaren. Metod: Vi har samlat relevant teori från främst informatik och psykologi. Datainsamlingen skedde genom tio personliga intervjuer med mobiltelefonanvändare. Analysen av empirin, i relation till teorin, gjordes med så kallad kodning.

 An analysis in the work of Martin Kellermans comic ?Rocky? of the interaction between the male and female characters and of how each of their gender are portrayed. We are going to find out if it is probable for young adults to be affected by any eventual gender-stereotypes that we can find in ?Rocky? or if ?Rocky? consolidates a stereotypical image of men and women that young adults might have developed through different media. We conduct this analys by first reading through random seleceted ?Rocky? books and present some of the comic strips where men and women interact with each other or discuss the opposite sex..

Examensarbetet inleddes med en förstudie där olika förbättringsområden inom organisationen identifierades. Kommunikation i praktiken kan liknas vid ett förstärkningsverktyg vilket påverkar de vanligaste faktorerna för ett lyckat förändringsarbete. Idag måste en ledare och chef vara kommunikativ och det fungerar inte längre med att peka med hela handen. Medarbetarna måste förstå sin chef och ledare och det måste finnas ett samspel mellan dem. För att chefer och ledare ska styra förändringsprocessen behövs kommunikation.Syfte med examensarbetet är att undersöka hur kommunikationsprocessen kan användas som styrmedel mot en social förändring.

Syfte: Det vi vill åstadkomma med uppsatsen är att kartlägga de metoder som är mest lämpade för att mäta effekten av produktplacering i film. Relevanta aspekter att effektmäta är försäljning, ökad märkesmedvetenhet hos konsument, förstärkning av varumärke och förändring av företagets image. Vidare kommer vi att analysera och utvärdera vilken eller vilka metoder som ger bäst information på ovan nämnda områden. Metod: Vårt arbete bygger metodmässigt på att utföra intervjuer med produktplacerande företag, marknadsundersökningsföretag och mediekonsulter för att se hur utbredd produktplacering och effektmätning av denna är. Litteraturstudier är ett annat metodmässigt tillvägagångssätt där vi ser på exponering av produktplacering, varumärkes funktion, sponsringens relevans för produktplacering och hur man bäst effektmäter den.

Sammanfattning Bakgrund Stråldosen vid en datortomografiundersökning (CT-undersökning) kan vara 100 gånger större än vid en konventionell röntgenundersökning [1]. På 10 år har antalet CT-undersökningar nästan fördubblats [2], vilket också innebär att stråldosen till patienterna ökar [1]. Bröstkörtlarna är ett av de mest strålkänsliga organen och är därför viktiga att skydda [3, 4].
