In Sweden most public libraries give users access to databases. These databases are sometimes possible to reach outside the library by internet at any time and this provides a change for the library and the society. Librarians function as change agents when they give access to databases and when databases are introduced to users. However, reports show that the use of databases, especially those in English, is not high in reference work. This study aims at analysing attitudes of librarians to access and use of databases on and by public libraries.

Utvecklingen av passivhus har fått alltmer uppmärksamhet relaterat till dagens stora energianvändning som till 40 % går till upprätthållandet av våra bostäder. Utöver en byggnad som håller nere energikostnaderna riktas fokus mot att finna material som på lång sikt är miljömässigt hållbara. Trä har alltid varit ett material som benämnts som ?det naturliga byggmaterialet? och är vanligt i dagens passivhus. Men att uppföra en träkonstruktion som håller för de internationella krav för passivhus är omfattande och kostsamt, därför är det intressant att studera alternativa lösningar som kan uppfylla dessa krav.Detta examensarbete jämför en, av Sweco, konstruerad yttervägg med en teoretisk av Webers Leca ISO-block Rex relaterat till byggnadsfysikaliska egenskaper så som värme, täthet, fukt, emissioner och miljöpåverkan.

Syftet med den här studien var att belysa hur offentlig medial debatt om papperslösa personers rätt till vård ser ut i Sverige. Studien hade en kvalitativ ansats. Metoden som användes var idé- och ideologianalys och med hjälp av denna analyserades ett antal tidningsartiklar. Om papperslösa personers situation i allmänhet och deras tillgång till hälso- och sjukvård finns tidigare forskning, men det saknas studier om debatten som sådan. Resultatet av denna studie visade att debattens huvudsakligen förs av journalister och politiker men även av andra aktörer såsom läkare, olika typer av organisationer och till viss del privatpersoner.

A helicopter based system equipped with a millimetre-wave fire control radar is studied for improvement of the detection probability for moving ground targets. The system is a pulse doppler radar that sends out the electromagnetic wave in repetitive pulses. The frequency in which radar sends this pulse is called Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF). The velocity of the moving targets is measured by spectral analysis of the pulses received. With this sort of system some targets will not be possible to detect.

De frågeställningar som vi har valt att använda oss utav är: Vilka kanaler för internkommunikation finns? Vad anser de anställda om kanalerna och deras informationsfunktion? Är de anställda delaktiga inom företaget, dvs. får de information, kan de uttala sig i frågor, kan de påverka beslut etc.?För att få fram våra resultat har vi använt oss utav en kvalitativ intervjumetod där vi valt att intervjua nio anställda på olika nivåer inom företaget.Utifrån det sammanställda resultatet kan vi dra slutsatsen att Jönköpings Länstrafik AB är ett företag som består av två större avdelningar som i sin tur sitter på två olika arbetsplatser.

Ten years ago the public computers with Internet access were introduced in the public libraries. The purpose of the public computers was to give the possibility of searching information. Along with the Internet came also communication media like chat and e-mail. This type of communication was a new function for the libraries and the reactions among the librarians were mixed. It has been a source of big frustration and attempts to block it has not succeeded.

In Jan Jagers and Stefaan Walgrave theory about populism as a political communication-style they claim that one can find this in the rhetoric of political parties. In their study of Belgian politics they found that the extreme-right party Vlaams Block has embraced this populism to a larger extent than other parties. Based on this theory this thesis aims at finding populism as a communication-style in three different Swedish political parties with the purpose to see if the extreme-right party ?The Sweden Democrats? will show populism to a larger extent than other parties, as was the case in the Belgian study.Based on Jagers and Walgraves operational definition of populism as a political communication-style this thesis applies it to the rhetoric of three different parties being ?The Social Democratic Party?, ?The Moderate Party? and ?The Sweden Democrats?. This is done in order to be able to clarify on the one hand if their theory is applicable to the Swedish case and on the other hand to what extent populism as a communication-style exists in Swedish political rhetoric.The method for this thesis has been a qualitative text analysis since and leads to the result that Jagers and Walgraves theory of populism as a communication-style is applicable to the Swedish case and that ?The Sweden Democrats? to a larger extent uses this political communication style, than the two other parties..

Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB ingår i Vattenfallskoncernen, vilka har uttryckt att alla dotterbolag ska vara certifierade inom arbetsmiljöområdet innan utgången av år 2012. Examensarbetets syfte var att genomlysa organisationen utifrån certifieringsstandarden OHSAS 18001 med en inriktning mot block 3. Målet med arbetet är att söka skillnaden i den arbetsmiljöstruktur organisationen har i dag och strukturen ovan nämnda standard har, det vill säga att genomföra en provcertifiering. Delmålet var att komma med konkreta förändringsförslag på funna avvikelser. En litteraturstudie gjordes inom områdena förändringar i organisationen, säkerhet och kultur samt SIS-OHSAS 18002:2009.

This study deals with the way how people think about life after death from the perspective of individualization. Individualization is something that affects all aspects of society, especially inSweden, which is of the most individualized countries. It also affects how people think about their own death.I have compared what people think about life after death with five theologians who have different views; Per Block, Sallie McFague, Krister Stendahl, Maurice Wiles and Jürgen Moltmann.I have compared the difference between individualism and individualization, andformulated some problems regarding how to think of individualism in terms of good and bad. Finally, I have finally discussed how I think Svenska kyrkan, the Church of Sweden, should meet the individualization, individualism and people´s opinion about life after death.The main question of the essay is partly unanswered because there is very little material and studies made about life after death contra individualization. One conclusion of my study, however, that I have reached is that people are allowed to choose freely nowadays, and that leads to a big difference in the system of beliefs.

Det kommunala självstyret står under svenskt grundlagsskydd och har historiskt blivit allt starkare. Sveriges kommuner är idag fria att själva besluta om den största delen av statsbidragets fördelning på kommunal verksamhet. Statsbidragens syfte är att utjämna strukturella skillnader mellan kommunerna och uppfylla principen om ?likvärdig service? för alla invånare oavsett i vilken kommun man bor. I denna uppsats undersöker vi hur den genomsnittliga kommunen väljer att fördela det kostnadsutjämnande statsbidraget på olika kommunala verksamheter.

Vattenfall district Heating power plant in Uppsala produces district cooling with absorption heat pumps which leads to a large amount of waste heat that has to be cooled with evaporative cooling towers. The Environmental Court has ordered Vattenfall to survey the possibilities to recover the heat, which is the focus of this thesis.The study begins with an overview of the system, and conditions and limitations for waste heat recovery is examined. In the next step alternatives to recycle the heat is evaluated, either by direct recovering or by upgrading.First, the technical possibility of each alternative is discussed, and then the operation time and the amount of recovered heat is calculated. Those alternatives which are possible are brought further to an economic analysis.The cost of investment for each alternative constitutes the basis for a present value analysis. The results are put together in a table where the total amount of recovered heat is compared with the present value for the different alternatives.

Ambitionen och målet med mitt projekt var att visualisera delar av en berättelse med hjälp av den senaste datortekniken. Detta tog sin form av en 3d-animation. Målet var inte att producera en färdig kortfilm utan att arbeta med utvalda delar. Projektet var indelat i tre block; en planerings- och researchfas, en produktionsfas och en reflektionsfas. Stora delar av magisterarbetet har bestått av att producera innehåll som sedan ska analyseras.

This project was aimed to study the degradation of polystyrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer (SBS). SBS is used to modify bitumen, the binder in asphalt. From earlier studies it is known that SBS degrades in bitumen, but the degradation products have not been identified. To be able to determine the long term effects of SBS in the environment, degradation products need to be identified. Polystyrene forms rigid blocks with polybutadiene as a rubbery matrix between the ridgid blocks.

The study included the whole process from the step of supplying therow materials to the last step in production functional test.In this thesis an investigation of how other companies are working with qualityassurance was conducted.
