This essay concerns the interpretation of house plans in three-aisled longhouses and hall-buildings, in Scandinavia during Iron Age. Full scale house reconstructions need a better basis of interpretations to understand the patterns of roof supporting post holes in excavated house plans. This has led to the thesis, presented here, that the layout of house plans during Iron Age is based on geometrical proportions. In order to prove this, geometric house plans were applied and compared with excavated house plans in 11different case studies, including the fortification of Fyrkat Denmark. It was found that all house plans in the case studies indicate, that the geometrical proportions 1:2, 1:3 and 2:3 of a given circle must have been used for the basic layout of the roof supporting post holes, using a compass and a straightedge.

Ovine black coat colour is determined by the MC1R (Melanocortin 1 receptor) and ASIP (Agouti signalling peptide) genes at the Agouti and Extension loci. The black phenotype is caused by production of eumelanin by melanocytes, whereas yellow-tan or light phenotype is the result of phaeomelanin synthesis. The ovine MC1R gene has two known alleles: the wildtype (E+) and the dominant black (ED) alleles. Two missense mutations (c.218T>A and c.361G>A) constitute ED. The presence of a third allele, the e allele, is proposed and believed to give rise to phaeomelanic phenotype.

Carl Gustav Jung started to write his Black books, in which he saw himself analyzing unconscious fantasies, during the same time that he leaved the psychoanalytical movement and broke off his personal relations with Sigmund Freud. This thesis sees the interpretation of these books through a wider contextualization. The purpose is to contribute to the understanding of the breakup between the two. The therapeutic work will be highlighted where the black books will be seen through the lens of three of Jung?s more known patients as well as through the interest in mythology and fantasy that Jung showed during this time.

There have been, in some rare cases, difficulties with clamping of inserts with U-holesin their tool holder. Aktierelaterade ersättningar skall från och med 1 januari 2005 redovisas enligt den nya redovisnings standarden IFRS 2. Standarden går ut på att incitamentsprogram skall redovisas som en kostnad i resultat räkningen. För att värdera incitamentsprogram baserade på optioner skall värderingsmodellen Black-Scholes användas. I modellen kan bolagen skatta volatiliteten relativt fritt, vilket skapar möjligheter att påverka kostnaden för optionsprogrammet. Med ledning av effektiva marknads hypotesen och Black-Scholes tar jag reda på om bolagen gör en skattning av volatiliteten som överensstämmer med den historiska volatiliteten, när de värderar sina optionsprogram.

Den här uppsatsen undersöker den implicerade volatiliteten hos svenska aktieoptioner, hur väl denna överensstämmer med den realiserade volatiliteten och om den kan prognostisera densamma. Då undersökningen görs på aktieoptioner, som i Sverige är amerikanska, är valet av värderingsmodell av stor vikt och av denna anledning har vi valt att använda oss av två modeller. Dessa modeller är Black-Scholes som är en modell utformad för värdering av europeiska optioner men som efter vidareutveckling av Merton, klarar direktavkastning samt Cox-Ross- Rubinstein som båda kan hantera amerikanska optioner. Resultatet från dessa båda modeller jämförs sedan dels med den realiserade volatiliteten och dels med varandra. För att utvärdera det eventuella prediktionsvärdet hos den implicerade volatiliteten gör vi sedan två regressioner där den implicerade volatiliteten från de båda modellerna jämförs med den realiserade volatiliteten.

Plagionotus detritus is a threatend longhorn beetle that only exists at one site in Sweden. It is saproxylic and depending on recently dead coarse oak wood for its larval development. Trees at Djurgården, Stockholm that have been colonized by Plagionotus detritus has been studied to find out the habitat preferences of the species and to see what affects the density of beetles in a tree. The bark of some trees and wood from the breeding project at Nordens Ark has also been studied to find out what affects the species reproductive success. The reproductive success was measured in two ways, the larval mortality and the size of the hatching holes.

Förstnämnda modell ärenklare än SABR-modellen men bygger på antaganden som inte stämmer överens medverkligheten. Den ger heller inte någon explicit formel för den implicita volatilitetenoch predikterar inte heller på ett korrekt sätt fenomenet volatility smile vilketobserveras på marknaden.Syftet med uppsatsen är att utvärdera prestandan hos SABR-modellen ochanvändarvänligheten, samt att undersöka lite av teorin bakom modellen och vissa avdess egenskaper. Till grund för beräkningarna ligger datamaterial hämtat från NasdaqOMX Nordic.Enligt mina beräkningar är resultatet att SABR-modellen endast presterar marginelltbättre än Black & Scholes-modellen.

Nematode-transmitted plant viruses (such as nepoviruses) cause great economically losses in commercially important plants such as tomatoes, grapevines and raspberries all over the world. To avoid spread of the viruses the interest in mapping the viruses has increased. One of the important nepoviruses infecting European red raspberries (Rubus idaeus) is Tomato black ring virus (TBRV). TBRV has earlier been confirmed in raspberry samples from Belarus by ELISA and the aim of this bachelor degree project was to confirm these results by amplifying, cloning and sequencing the coat protein (CP) gene of the virus. In total eight viral cDNA samples, from two different raspberry samples, were amplified and sequenced.

Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are ubiquitous in the environment today and they have been detected even in remote areas such as the Arctic. PFASs can be transported by the atmosphere and ocean currents but the transport mechanism is not fully understood. PFASs may be harmful to organisms due to their persistence in the environment, bio-accumulation potential and toxicity. Studies have shown that PFASs can cause adverse effects on the metabolism as well as the endocrine- and reproduction systems in organisms. In this study, PFASs were investigated in glaucous gull (Larus hyperboreus) (n=5) and black guillemot (Cepphus grylle) (n=4) from Svalbard.
