Avfallshantering kommer med stor sannolikhet alltid vara en aktuell fråga, ny teknologi och reningsmetoder uppkommer och vilket behandlingsmetod som är mest lämpad för vilken typ av avfall kan diskuteras. Syftet med denna studie är att se över de kostnader och nyttor som uppkommer när Uppsala kommun komposterar det komposterbara hushållsavfallet och sedan jämföra det med ett scenario där samma mängd avfall istället skulle brännas. Det slutliga resultat och även den rekommendation som kommer ges är att det fallet med det högsta nettovärdet är den mest samhällsekonomiska metoden. För att kunna göra denna typ av studie kommer metoden kostnad-nytta-analys att användas. Detta är en metod som fångar in alla aspekter kring en aktivitet, även aspekter som det normalt sett inte finns någon prislapp på.

Kommunerna är idag ansvariga för insamling av hushållens avfall. Staten försöker styra den kommunala avfallshanteringen genom nationella styrmedel. Kommuner som vill ändra sitta avfallshanteringssystem står idag inför stora utmaningar eftersom avfallshanteringen är komplex och det gör det svårt att avgöra vilken metod som är fördelaktigast. Två fraktioner som är omdiskuterade är det biologiska och farliga avfallet, kring dessa finns det inga direkta eller klara riktlinjer. I den här studien har vi valt att genom intervjuer studera hur dessa fraktioner hanteras i tre kommuner.

Tamgrisar (Sus scrofa domestica) har i stort sett kvar samma beteenden som de vildsvin (Sus scrofa) de stammar från. Inom den storskaliga produktionen är de lagstadgade kraven på sysselsättningsmöjligheter för grisarna väldigt låga eller helt obefintliga. Grisarna hålls i en torftig miljö där deras möjligheter till sysselsättning blir mycket begränsade. Detta påverkar välfärden negativt och kan leda till att de blir passiva eller utvecklar stressbetingade och skadliga beteenden. För att komma tillrätta med välfärds- och beteendeproblem kan olika typer av miljöberikning introduceras för grisarna.

The aim of this work is to take the first step into a development process, with the intention to find a way of making prehistoric soil fertility a variable in archaeological landscape analysis. A pilot study is performed on the Mälar basin area, where four topographical and geological factors are reclassified and then combined, resulting in a map which expresses a relative indication of agriculture potential. The map is then compared to the distribution of Migration Period graves and gold finds. This, however, does not mean that the technique is tied to a certain prehistoric period. Because the work is intrinsically experimental, the technique as a whole is finally discussed and evaluated, and suggestions of improvements and further studies are made..

Det finns stor potential i byggbranschen att förbättra produktionsprocessen på en arbetsplats med hjälp av nya planerings- och modelleringsverktyg. En produktionsteknologi som är särskilt intressant att studera är det platsgjutna betongbyggandet. Här utförs många olika, men sammanhängande, moment tätt på varandra och processen styr mycket av andra processer som följer efter detta skede. Det är därför viktigt att kunna planera och kontrollera byggandet med platsgjuten betong med enkla och effektiva planeringsverktyg. En relativt ny modelleringsteknik som har stor potential att förbättra produktionsprocessen är 4D CAD.

Sedan 80-talet har inställningen till funktionsplanering av städer svängt från funktions- uppdelning till funktionsblandning. Anledningen är att funktionsblandning främjar stadsmiljöer för fotgängare och cyklister, ökar det sociala klimatet i gaturummet och minskar miljöpåfrestningarna genom möjlighet till samordnad logistik. Men även om stadsrum och stadsformer på pappret i många fall anpassas för att stödja funktionsbland- ning så blir resultatet inte alltid en funktionsblandad stad. Idag börjar planeringsfältet inse att istället för att planera funktionsblandning måste de incitament som stödjer funktionsblandning planeras för. För att möjliggöra denna planering måste verktyg och analysmetoder användas och utvecklas för att mäta vilka grader och typer av funktions- blandning som en plan har potential för.
