For systems with multicore processors contention for shared resources is a problem that occurs when several memory-intensive processes are executed in parallel within the same memory domain. This contention has a direct influence on the performance of the system and is a complex problem that has been recognized for a long time. An attractive and actively studied way to minimize this problem is by using a process scheduler adapted to allocate processor cores in a way such that contention for shared resources is minimized.With the introduction of multicore NUMA-systems (Non-Uniform Memory Access) the situation has become even more complex. In these systems the access time for processor cores to different memory domains vary depending on factors such as distance and load. Thus, the process scheduler also has to consider where the memory of each process is placed to minimize the distance and balance the load on each memory domain.This report presents a user-level process scheduler for a NUMA-system based on the multicore processor Tilera TILEPro64.

Genom tiderna har domstolarna gÄtt frÄn en bedömning av patentpooler som en rÀttmÀtig utbyggnad av patentrÀtten, till en bedömning att varje avtal som ökar patentrÀttens omfattning Àr olaglig för att slutligen tillÀmpa regler som tar hÀnsyn till positiva och negativa effekter och dÀrifrÄn göra en avvÀgning i fall till fall.Den tidiga utvecklingen tog plats i Förenta staterna men det nuvarande rÀttslÀget Àr i stort det samma ocksÄ i EU. De första reglerna som utfÀrdats om patentpooler Àr de riktlinjer som kommissionen gav ut 2004, dessa ger ledning om hur kommissionen kommer att bedöma ett poolsamarbete men de utgör inte bindande rÀtt.

Social exclusion is a problem in today?s society that we feel public libraries can help resolve since they are based on the idea of equality and openness. The purpose of this essay is to examine how public librarians think and reason about the concept ?integration? as well as what role public libraries can play in immigrants? integration process. With Jose Alberto Diaz? theory on the integration process, and Marianne Andersson and Dorte Skot-Hansen?s model for analysis of the local library profile as theoretical framework, we analyzed the responses from two qualitative interviews in small groups of 2-3 librarians from two different public libraries.

Within the political science research it is common to examine the effects on the national parliaments caused by European integration. In this Bachelor Thesis the aim is instead to show what involvement of the national parliaments in the European Union implicates to the European integration process.The object of examination is the introduction of the parliaments as supervisors of draft legislative acts, this is also known as ?the Early Warning Mechanism?, through the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. An analysis of answers from the national parliaments in the tests of three pilot cases, conducted by the COSAC, is made with help of Institutional theory and an Europeanization perspective.The main findings show that the mechanism of early warning probably will not become an obstacle for continued European integration, but it could slow down the process in some areas. Most probably though is that the mechanism forces the national parliaments to adapt and to be better equipped to react at events taking place at the European level.

Health care costs in relation to GDP are escalating all over Europe and the Swedish health care industry is not an exception. Between 30 and 50 percent of resources used in health care are considered waste, in the sense that they don't contribute to increased health. This illustrates the big need for hospitals to become more efficient which is why many hospitals today are trying to move towards a process-oriented organization. This paper therefore aims to identify the elements necessary for this type of organizational change, the barriers encountered when moving from a functional to process oriented hospital as well as how to overcome them. The case study was conducted at Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset and shows the importance of not just transmitting a sense of urgency but also communicating that the upcoming change is long term.

This Paper examine how a municipality hire employees and in what way they use relevantlegislation in the recruitment process. The purpose of this paper is to clarify one specific municipality and their recruitment process, where the selection of the candidates is in focus of the process.The premiss is that municipalities can hire whoever they want, although some legislation needs to be considered. The principle of objectivity, the precedence and prohibition against discrimination are some restrictions municipalities must be aware of and not contravene.Further on candidates have an opportunity to require probation of the legality if they experience that mistakes have been made with the recuritment. However, only members of the municipality can emphasise this request.The municipalities job advertisements conformation and demands will be clarified in the paper. Job advertisements has a validity regarding disputes refering to discrimination because only the advertisement can justify employers procedure and choise.

Syftet med denna studie var att ta reda pÄ hur nÄgra pedagoger uppfattar beröringens betydelse i skolan i relation till eleverna och utifrÄn sin yrkesroll. Vilka möjligheter och hinder upplever de med beröring i sin gÀrning som lÀrare? I ljusets av lÀrarens uppdrag presenteras i bakgrunden tidigare forskning om beröring och dess effekter pÄ relationsskapande och kommunikation. Vidare avhandlas dess betydelse för neurologisk- och social utveckling samt kontextens betydelse för hur beröringen uppfattas. Forskningsansatsen Àr fenomenografisk med inledande observationer av pedagogers beröringsbeteende följt av fyra kvalitativa intervjuer.

The Mission at ÅF Industry in Norrkoping was about optimizing bulk data handling while importing process tag types from their construction database into the Process Controlled System of type Siemens PCS7.I found three different methods to solve the task. Two of them were using different software from Siemens under the premise that the report from the database was corrected as needed. The third variant was manually creating the circuits. All methods worked out fine but there were times when one was better than another.To solve this task I had access to all software presented in chapter 2 ?Programvara? (=Software).

Syftet medden hÀr studien Àr att fÄ ökad kunskap genom att utforska nio pedagogers erfarenheter i attstödja lÀrandet hos dessa elever. För att uppnÄ syftet har arbetet riktats in mot följandefrÄgestÀllningar:1. Hur bör skolmiljön vara utformad, enligt nÄgra tillfrÄgade pedagoger, för att stödjaelevernas lÀrande och utveckling?2.

The goal of our research is to give the general picture of the attitudes of immigrants to their own integration process into the Swedish society, focusing on the feeling of belonging, satisfaction with the social network, as well as confidence in the future. Moreover, in our study, we investigate a possible relation between the attitudes of the immigrants to the above-mentioned variables and their age and education. The research is based on a quantitative questionnaire investigation, which comprises all Sfi students at level D in the northeastern part of SkÄne county. The research shows that the majority are open to the Swedish culture and traditions, keeping, at the same time, their own native traditions. Four out of five think that the Swedish language is important for integration.

Enligt kritisk rasteori Àr rasism en struktur som genomsyrar hela samhÀllet och upprÀtthÄlls av vardagsrasism. Föreliggande studie syftar dÀrför till att undersöka vita barns uppfattningar om "ras" i homogent vita förskolor i Sverige samt hur dessa kan pÄverkas genom bilderböcker. "Ras" ses hÀr som en förÀndringsbar social struktur som kategoriserar in (rasifierar) folk utifrÄn fysiska attribut och förestÀllningar om agerande och egenskaper utifrÄn dessa. UtifrÄn fenomenografiskt förhÄllningssÀtt görs studien pÄ 10 barn uppdelade pÄ tvÄ grupper genom att lÀsa sex bilderböcker med rasifierade huvudroller under fyra veckor. De tekniker som anvÀnds Àr fokusgrupp, i form av bokprat, och experimentorienterad bildsprÄksteknik.
