A common form of communication within Facebook is the communication between users via status updates. If you write a status update all your friends have the opportunity to read and to respond to the update. The overall issue of this survey is: how are Facebook users to commu- nicate with status updates?  The survey aims to gain insight and greater understanding of communication patterns and user awareness of social contexts when they write status  updates. The study will act as an attempt to understand a small part of a complex interaction taking place in a social situation.

This report investigates a possible solution to the problem with adapting wave powerplants to work in countries with tidal water. The wire connecting the buoy at the surface with the generator at the bottom needs to adjust to the varying water depth. Our solution to this problem is to attach the wire to a jack which is then placed inside the buoy. The jack is then powered by an electric engine. The report discuss what forces the buoy will be exposed to and then the structural integrity of the design is evaluated through simulations.

Studien syftar till att ta reda på hur musiklärare ser på motoriska problem, hur informerade de är om elevers svårigheter och hur de hanterar eventuella motoriska problem som kan uppstå i instrumentalundervisningen. I bakgrundskapitlet presenteras motoriska aspekter, samt tidigare forskning och studiens teoretiska utgångspunkter.Den forskningsmetod som använts i studien är den kvalitativa intervjun. Jag har intervjuat fyra lärare som arbetar med brasselever. Intervjuerna transkriberades, bearbetades och analyserades och de svar som framkommit utgör studiens resultat. I resultatet beskrivs hur lärarna får reda på motoriska problem och hur de hanterar dem.

This study aims to examine attitudes and conceptions of staff who work with mentally disabled persons, concerning normalization and gender. Six qualitative interviews with such professionals were performed and subsequently analyzed. Since the method of this study is qualitative, no claim of generalizability is made. The interview material has been categorized into themes by means of coding. The result of the study is presented according to those themes.

Ett parlament har valts och flertalet demokratiska inslag har förts in i Irak, men det är en instabil demokrati i Irak. Vilka förutsättningar finns det egentligen för en demokrati i Irak? Vilka problem finns det? Det är dessa två frågor som besvarats i denna uppsats. Genom att använda moderniseringsteorin och teorin om det civila samhället har Irak analyserats för att kunna besvara de frågorna.

The aim with this study was to analyze and understand how begging is constructed as a social problem in Sweden between September of 2010 and the end of February in 2014 in debate articles in Dagens Nyheter. To do this I have chosen to use a social problems theory and critical discourse analysis to highlight some aspects in the process of defining the social problem. The study's main finding is that the construction of beggars and begging appears to be in a relatively extensive redefinition in the current situation. It is shown by, for example, a shift in focus in the discourse. For this reason, it is relevant for social work to examine how the construction progresses..

The objective of this essay was to analyse if the same housing needs are assessed equally by Swedish welfare agencies in ten districts in Malmö. If not, why?Welfare officers from all districts were interviewed. They were all working with homelessness among families. We had an idea that the districts were forced to prioritize because of the meagre recourses, and that clients who really needs help doesn't get what they need.

The aim of this study was to shed light on how journalists describe the child?s world and what gender labels are used in their descriptions. We wanted to get a better understanding of what happens when gender is constructed.In order to study how gender is constructed, we chose to examine how the children?s magazine Kamratposten describes children?s spare time. We chose Kamratposten because it turns to both girls and boys.

This study examines the eWOM effect, more specifically: how customer reviews effects consumers. The study is based on a modified version of the Regulatory Focus Theory which describes consumer behavior using consumer consumption goals. The purpose of this study was to examine how positive and negative customer review's influence consumers when analyzing products that are equally characterized by two consumption goals: promotion and prevention goals. The authors combined quantitative (questionnaire) and qualitative (focus groups) research methods with the sample selection for both research methods being based on students of Södertörns University. Results indicate that negative customer reviews have a stronger influence on consumers than positive customer reviews when analyzing products that are equally characterized by the promotion goals and prevention goals.

The aim of this study has been to describe and clarify the phenomenon violence from patients within neuropsychiatric institutions, as experienced by staff members. The study has adopted an actor perspective and phenomenology as a philosophic and theoretical framework. The method used for data collection and analysis has also been influenced by phenomenology. Data consisted of five semi-structured interviews of a descriptive nature, and the goal of the analysis has been to articulate the general structure of the phenomenon. The results showed that the violence from patients is characterized by a professional commitment which includes always staying ahead and being able to help, protect and express a high level of emotional self-control.

Vi lever i ett samhälle som kontinuerligt utvecklas och förändras. Olika sorters förändringar, individuella som organisatoriska, är vanligt förekommande i dagens samhälle. Organisationer måste kontinuerligt förändras i takt med samhället för att kunna anpassa sig till den miljö de är verksamma i och för att bibehålla sin konkurrenskraft. Att genomgå en förändring skapar olika upplevelser hos olika individer. Syftet med denna uppsats är att kartlägga individens attityder till, och upplevelser av, den befintliga organisationen och den pågående organisationsförändring samt att presentera riktlinjer för en optimal organisation.

I dagens planeringsprocesser inkluderas medborgare huvudsakligen genom samrådsprocessen. Detta innebär två huvudsakliga problem: Det första problemet är att medborgares kunskap inkluderas först efter att problemen för en planeringsprocess är fastställda. Det andra problemet är att det endast är de medborgare som närvarar vid samrådet som möjlighet att representera sin kunskap och sina åsikter. Uppsatsens syftar därför till att undersöka om och eventuellt hur olika kunskapsunderlag påverkar hur problem formuleras i stadsplaneringsprocesser. Vidare syftar uppsatsen till att undersöka hur inkluderingen av olika former av kunskap kan påverka vilka åtgärder som prioriteras inom stadsplaneringsprocesser. Det huvudsakliga metodvalet har varit en fallstudie av Malmabergsgatan i Västerås.

Cannabis har använts till olika ändamål i flera sekler och resultaten av dess användning har varit omstridda. Umeå är inte förskonat från dagens cannabisproblem trots att det är en stad med en stor opinion mot all användning av cannabis. För att belysa problemet med cannabismissbruk i Umeå, har vi valt att intervjua Föräldraföreningen Mot Narkotika, socialtjänsten samt polismyndigheten. Alla tre är eniga om att cannabismissbruket är ett stort problem i Umeå och även deras teorier stöds av en drogvaneundersökning som genomförs på högstadie- och gymnasieskolorna i staden. Umeå är inget undantag från övriga städer runt om i Sverige, utan de har också vissa områden som har större problem än andra.
