The aim of the study was to examine how social workers investigate and assess addiction cases whether gender matters or not. The following questions were asked in the study; ? Does the gender of the client influence whether a case is opened after the first meeting at the Addiction Unit? ? Do social workers consider there is a difference in handling an addiction treatment investigation when the client is a man or a woman? ? Do divergences exist in the assessment and the final decision process when the case concerns a man or a woman? The study is based on the qualitative method. The material is gathered from semi-structured interviews with social workers. Their job tasks include assessment and evaluation of addiction cases.

The purpose of this study is to examine discussions on the Swedish internet forum ?Flashback? regarding female body hair and the cultural norms that surround it. The discussion is centered around a broadcasted event in which a woman?s hairy armpit was incidentally shown, with a lot of viral hate as a result. Every second woman in Sweden suffers in their lifetime of fracture that is related to osteoporosis. Osteoporosis and fractures affect the person´s everyday life. The aim of the study was to describe experiences of feeling well among women with osteoporosis. Six women were interviewed with semi- structured interviews. Research has shown fear of childbirth to be as common among men as women, but the phenomenon has not been as studied among men.            AbstractAims: To explore whether and in that case how nurses question women in the psychiatric care about violence in close relationships and how nurses respond to women who have been exposed to domestic violence.Method: A qualitative descriptive interview study with twelve nurses from four psychiatric wards was carried out in Uppsala. Informants were chosen from a convenient selection. The interviews with semi-structured interview questions were recorded on tape, transcribed and analyzed with content analysis.Results: There is no routine to ask all female patients if they are victims of violence. It happens only in cases where the suspicion arises or is confirmed. It is individually whether and how the nurse asks the woman if she is subjected to violence in a close relationship, depending on patient and nurse.

In this essay the author tries to see how the tv-series reprensatation of men and women looks like. Media, such as tv-series, acts as great source of inspiration when people tries to understand the world around them.

This study examinates technology's traumatic impact on the male subject in The Atrocity Exhibition by J.G. Ballard. In my analysis I show how the protagonist uses a fetischistic strategy in order to make sense of the trauma that technology embeds. Paradoxically it proves to be the agent of his trauma, but also functions as his shield. The machine is thus in a position of the hinge, the point in a structural system that both enables and deconstruct the system.

Introduction: Breast pain, mastalgia, is a common problem for many women. The pain can cause so much concern that the woman seeks help in health care. The cause of concern is often that that the pain may be due to breast cancer. Women with mastalgia are referred for mammography to investigate the cause of the pain. Experience says that the mammography is mostly normal.Aim: The aim of the study was to get an overall picture of the results of the mammograms performed on Mammography SU / Sahlgrenska in 2011.

Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the world and it usually affects elderly women. However, there are between 600-700 cases per year in Sweden where women under the age of 45 are diagnosed. Removal of the breast or part of the breast, hair loss, fatigue and nausea as a result of the breast cancer treatment has an emotional and physical impact on the women?s lifeworld. The nurse should build a relationship with the women to identify and meet their needs. Aim: To describe younger women?s experiences of getting a breast cancer diagnosis and life afterwards.Method: Four biographical books were analyzed to match the aim of the study.Result: The findings were that the women experience similar thoughts and feelings when it comes to living with a cancer diagnosis.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att få kunskap om hur svenska icke-muslimska kvinnor ser på muslimska kvinnor, samt på vilket sätt svenska författare har skildrat kvinnan och islam. Med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer och textanalys har min vetskap blivit större.Urvalet svenska akademiska författare som studien bygger på vill visa att kränkningen av kvinnor inte handlar om religion utan om hur Koranen har blivit feltolkad samt hur resten av världen ser på den muslimska kulturen. Bland författarna finns teorier om att kvinnan är ett offer för samhället, feltolkningar och fördomar men även ett offer på grund av bristen på jämlikhet inom islam.Kunskapen om islam är inte så stor hos intervjupersonerna. De är kluvna i sin bild av den muslimska kvinnan. Dels ses hon som ett offer i slöja, kuvad och underlägsen.

Bakgrund: Cirka 70 % av alla kvinnor i världen har någon gång blivit utsatta för våld. Forskning visade att det fanns en rädsla hos vårdpersonalen för att ta upp problemet med kvinnorna. Vårdpersonal har ett ansvar när det gäller att upptäcka och identifiera våldet som kvinnan upplevt. Syfte: Syftet var att belysa fysiskt våldsutsatta kvinnors upplevelser av vad som kännetecknar en god vårdrelation. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en allmän litteraturstudie, detta med hjälp av 11 vetenskapliga artiklar.
