Företag och organisationer arbetar mycket med att förstärka sin position på marknaden, att leva upp till sin image och stärka sin identitet. En viktig del i arbetet handlar om att bygga ett starkt varumärke utifrån verksamhetens kärnvärden som når ut till kunderna. Det gäller att vara tydlig i sin kommunikation. Ofta kan man se en röd tråd genom ett företags grafiska profil, hur lokalerna är utformade och hur man marknadsför sig. Att inomhusmiljön speglar företagets profil och värden är lika vanligt som att ha en tydlig grafisk profil och en logotype på sitt visitkort.

In this project, an area in the small town Tungelsta south of Stockholm, is in focus. Tungelsta is placed in the municipality of Haninge and it is for the planning department on the municipality, this project is made. The task is to compose an arrengement of buildings and open spaces for a 50 hektar area. Today the area is consists of agriculture fields and forests. The area is placed near the railway station, in the city centre of Tungelsta, which makes it interesting and important to work with. There are different opinions about the future plans for the area.

Urban farming can be viewed in several contexts. The first part of this work brings up the beneficial effects of farming on our physical and mental health, knowledge as well as on social life in cities. The introduction of gardening in schools can contribute to an increased awareness on both agricultural practices and importance as well as ecological processes. It can also be used in teaching of other subjects. Farming can also contribute to improving the household economy, and the economy on a municipal or national level.

Medverkan som en väg till hållbart samhälle är centralt i Agenda 21. En av riktningslinjerna i det lokala Agenda 21-arbetet är att det ska säkras ett nedifrån- och upp-perspektiv, med bred medverkan från invånarna. En reell medverkan betyder att människor aktivt deltar i alla faser och processer som berör deras lokalmiljö, från planering till förvaltning. Denna rapport baserar sig på antagandet att lokalt engagemang är en grundläggande förutsättning för medverkan. Den centrala frågeställningen är att finna vad som påverkar och stärker lokalt engagemang.

Vårt bostadsbyggande bidrar negativt till klimatförändringar och i Sverige blir det alltmer populärt att bygga nya bostadsområden som har vision att vara miljövänliga, klimatsmarta eller ekologiska. Miljötekniken utvecklas hela tiden men det gäller att applicera den på våra hus och att de boende tar till sig vikten av att tänka miljövänligt. Denna uppsats syftar till att undersöka om klimatsmarta områden verkligen fungerar som det var tänkt eller om det mest är en utopi. Uppsatsen behandlar svenska bygglagar och de miljömål som har anknytning till landets bostadsbyggande, vad det innebär att områdena är klimatsmarta och miljövänliga och hur detta fungerar i praktiken. Tre aktuella klimatsmarta bostadsprojekt i Sverige presenteras kort och en djupare studie har genomförts mellan två bostadsområden, Hammarby Sjöstad i Stockholm och Augustenborg i Malmö som är klimatsmarta, miljövänliga och ekologiska, för att se hur de fungerar i praktiken och om de satta målen uppnås.

This thesis was written during the autumn 2007. I wanted to understand the situation of the contemporary architecture in a perspective broader than merely the Swedish. I asked myself what remained of architecture if one would eliminate purely functional, aesthetical and ecological aspects. With help from literature I interviewed theorists in architecture, practitioners and a philosopher to hear their thoughts regarding what architecture can or should be about. The result of the interviews and the literature studies constitute the two initial parts of the thesis.

In the urban planning debate of today, two strategies for city development stand out as each other's opposites, urban sprawl and smart growth. This thesis concerns a development project of the latter kind and aims to give an alternative proposal to new buildings and a park in a Swedish city block. The term sprawl is used for new developments on virgin soil on the outskirts of cities leading to a city spreading, while smart growth stand for increased city density through development on re-used land within the city boundaries. The latter are often seen as more sustainable in many levels and are also shown to have positive effects on a number of city functions. At the same time smart growth has negative consequences on other aspects of the city such as public open spaces.

När jag bestämde mig för att skriva min kandidatuppsats om akustisk trädgårdskonst trodde jag att ljudinstallationer i trädgårdar och parker var ett nytt fenomen. En helt ny värld öppnade sig framför mina ögon då jag insåg att så inte var fallet. Konstgjorda ljudkällor, såsom gyllene fåglar och vattenorglar, har kommit och gått genom tiderna medan naturliga ljud, såsom vind och fågelsång, bestått. När det kommer till vår egen tid är trädgårdsljud, även om moderna material och tankesätt används, en konstform som starkt präglas och inspireras av sin historia. An increased demand for processed goods on the property market has contributed toinvestments within the Swedish sawmill industry. The purpose with this study is to make amarket investigation of pre cut lengths within a defined geographic area. The constituent forthis investigation is HAL (AB Hilmer Andersson) who invests in a new plane facility and twofinger jointing machines in affiliation to their sawmill in Lässerud, the vest part of Värmland.To investigate the demand of pre cut lengths and identifies the value creating factors and costfactors which the customer within the segments industry and property market perceive, havedifferent customer value theories been used. Theories of customer value and the theory aboutoffering has been the source of creating the qualitative interview with a selection of currentand new potential customers for HAL.The result of the study first gives an introduction of HAL?s new offering and a description ofHAL?s current customers, which gives the reader an understanding of why searching for newcustomers is made in the defined area.

Som nybliven husägare ställs man inför många nya problem, man har helt plötsligt blivit med trädgård och denna skall fyllas med växter. Sedan skall man komma ihåg vad det man har köpt heter och viktigast av allt hur man får sina dyrt inköpta nya perenner att överleva och helst få tillväxt. Jag fick en idé om hur man kunde lösa problemet och det bästa av allt var att min idé inte fanns förut. Detta examensarbete handlar om ett faktaförberedande arbete för att senare kunna skapa ett modernt och skräddarsytt digitalt redskap till personer som är innehavare av en trädgård och besitter en klen kunskap om perenners ståndort, skötsel och egenskaper. Det är till för dem som önskar hålla sina perenner vid god vigör, med minsta möjliga tankearbete och tid. Denna produkt kan med en viss utbyggnad i framtiden också passa yrkesfolk som ritar och projekterar för den privata sektorn. Examensarbetets uppbyggnad består av följande delar: En undersökande del vilken består i att jag valde tre Garden-centers och intervjuade både personal och kunder för att få fram fakta, frågeställningar och kunskapsnivåer som jag kunde använda av skapandet av mitt digitala program. Jag läste också litteratur om skötsel där jag identifierade olika parametrar som behövs för perenners sunda överlevnad. En databasdel.

Sissinghurst är en vacker trädgårdsanläggning som ligger i grevskapet Kent i sydöstra Storbritannien.Syftet med detta arbete var att studera Sissinghursts historia, design och växtslag men även att undersöka vad som gör Sissinghurst till en typisk arts -and -craftsträdgård.Trädgården köptes på 1930-talet av skriftställaren och diplomaten Harold Nicolson och författarinnan Vita Sackville-West. En ordentlig upprustning gjordes av Sissinghurst och sedan skapade de tillsammans den mest berömda och besökta arts -and -craftsträdgården i England.Trädgården användes som om den hade varit ett hus. Övre gården utgör hallen där höjdpunkten är den purpurröda rabatten med blad som har en silvergrå nyans. Vita trädgården är matsalen som är det mest berömda trädgårdsrummet på Sissinghurst. Den innehåller bara vita blommor med ett inslag av ljust rosa.

Serpula lacrymans infestation has become an increasingly common problem, and is usually perceived as a tip of an iceberg.During the 21st century there has been a perceived increase of damage caused by serpula lacrymans, at AB Mats Fransson Saneringstjänst ? Anticimex in the county of Kronoberg. A similar increase has also been noted by employees at the offices in Kalmar, Karlstad, Piteå, Stockholm, Malmö, Söderhamn, Halmstad and Visby.The methods used to collect data for the project has been interviews with a number, for the project, relevant key persons, such as analysis engineers at Trygghansa and Anticimex, as well as personnel at the botanical institution at Gothenburg University and the Botaniska Analysgruppen in Gothenburg, further statistics from SMHI and analyses of reported instances of infestations have been used.The majority of the people interviewed believe that the increase is caused by renovations of old houses, higher precipitation during the summer months, as well as a moister climate and warmer winters. The latter can also be gleaned from statistics from SMHI concerning temperature, precipitation, and relative humidity.Analysed damage reports show that the most common cause for the infestation is ground moisture, even when combined wooden materials.Older houses that where built around 1900 are the ones most frequently infested with serpula lacrymans. The part of the building most frequently infested is the foundation, where cellars and suspended foundation are the most common types to be infested.

This is a project showing a proposal on how a high-rise building gains qualities similar to middle rise houses of 7-9 stories. The closed, isolated and often anonymous life in the high building opens up through gardens.
