User-centred acquisitions at three academic librariesA new way of developing collections has been adopted at a number of small academic libraries, user-centred acquisitions. The method implies that the main way of building the collection is by means of receiving suggestions of titles from library users. The main purpose of this thesis is to investigate changes in acquisitions of monographs. At a more detailed level it seeks a deeper understanding of what user-centred acquisitions is and how the method effects the acquisitions process. Changes in stock management and the reason why the libraries have chosen the method is investigated as well.

Telemedicine is the use of information and communication technology to provide clinical health care at a distance. This approach is usually adopted to bridge the distance in rural settings, but it is also a method to meet demographical and economical challenges. Västerbotten, a sparsely populated county with an ageing population, is in leading edge when it comes to telemedicine. The purpose of this report was to examine the diffusion and the inventory of telemedicine in the county council of Västerbotten from a geographical perspective. To gain a deeper understanding of diffusion and inventory of telemedicine, my purpose was also to examine these processes from an international and national perspective.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine the opinions of the students of Linköping University regarding the role of the university library in their learning process. The study addresses the student?s expectations and satisfaction regarding the library services. The questions we seek to answer are: What are the students? conceptions of Linköping University Library as a part of their learning process? What expectations do the students have regarding Linköping University Library? Does the library fulfil the students? expectations? In what way has the library?s pedagogical ambition reached the students? What are the students? opinions about the user education? The study is based on a web survey complemented with interviews.

Syftet med denna intervjustudie var att undersöka hur patienter med missbruks- och beroendeproblem upplever attityder och bemötande från omvårdnadspersonal. Begreppet missbruk/beroende innefattar alla former av missbruk/beroende av både narkotika, alkohol och läkemedel. Uppsatsen är en deskriptiv empirisk intervjustudie med kvalitativ ansats som bygger på 10 intervjuer med drogmissbrukare/drogberoende. Urvalskriterierna har varit 5 män och 5 kvinnor i åldrarna 25 - 60 år som haft minst 5 vårdtillfällen på en sluten missbruksenhet. Intervjuerna har analyserats utifrån metoden kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

Det finns flera teorier om hur äldre uppnår det goda åldrandet med hög livstillfredsställelse. Gerotranscendens är en av dessa. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om anhöriga ser tecken på gerotranscendens hos sin åldrande förälder och i så fall vilka tecken de ser. Forskningsdesignen var kvalitativ och metoden var att spela in semistrukturerade intervjuer med tolv anhöriga till föräldrar i åldern 75 + utan demenssjukdom, boende på ett servicehus i Stockholm. Tidigare forskning har beskrivit att vårdpersonal och äldre individer uppfattat tecken på gerotranscendens och alla anhöriga i denna studie beskrev flera tecken på gerotranscendens.

Background:The new guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation states that the family should be given the opportunity to be present at the resuscitation of a close relative. A cardiac arrest is an emotional experience for the family. In addition to being part of the resuscitation effort, the nurse also needs to take care of the family.Aim:The aim of this study was to describe nurses' experiences of family presence during resuscitation.Method:A literature review has been made of 13 studies where differences and similarities were analyzed. The articles were published between the years of 2009 ? 2013Result:The nurses' experiences were divided into three categories; Factors that affect family presence, The nurse' experience surrounding the presence of the family, Factors affecting family presence in the resuscitation room.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine the view of literature within Swedish governmental cultural policy. The main issue is to discover changes in attitude towards democracy, literature and library by comparing the Attitudes in the governmental policy documents from the 1970s with the governmental policy documents from the 1990s. The theoretical starting point is Danish cultural policy researcher Dorte Skot-Hansens theories of the development of cultural policy in the Nordic countries. My method of analysis is a textual one, analysis of ideas and ideology, focusing on the aspect of signification of a text. The study has an effort of analysing the governmental policy in terms of idea and ideology.

The study discloses unaccompanied children´s socialization in their new society. The purpose of the study is to investigate how unaccompanied children's schooling is an important factor in their socialization and skills development in their new society. For example, we have chosen to illustrate how their school works and if and whether the teachers receive the support they need in order to help children develop their skills so they can find their way in society. The research is based on three different methods. The first method is based on literature research.

Kroppsuppfattning handlar om hur man ser på sin kropp till exempel utifrån vikt, proportioner och omfång. Forskningen på män har visat att de oftast är ute efter att bli mer muskulösa. Fysisk aktivitet har visat sig bidra med positiva effekter hos personer med negativ kroppsuppfattning. Syfte: Att undersöka om det finns något samband mellan norrbottniska mäns kroppsuppfattning och deras fysiska aktivitetsnivå. Metod: Studiedeltagarna omfattades av 52 stycken män i åldrarna 18-23.

Efforts to achieve a moisture proof construction process have proved to be considerably complicated, despite the knowledge and awareness that now exists within the moisture field. Materials, documents, templates and checklists are designed to be accessed but are not used anyway. This may be because such effort has not been prioritized and properly requirements have not existed from the commissioner of a building.This report illustrates how the commissioner of a building project can achieve a moisture proof building process by increasing knowledge, moisture proof planning, and implementation of security moisture routines. Proposals are given on how the commissioner of a building project can work to consistently bring a moisture proof building process in all stages. The difficulty with regular moisture proof efforts, the authors believe is mainly due to the following points:      Many different design solutions.      Lack of experience feedback.      Lack of communication.      Financial incentives.      Attitudes.The interviews in the report have conducted with the help of a qualitative analysis, while the survey has been done using a quantitative analytical method.

Ungdomar lever inom en social kontext vilken direkt samt indirekt påverkar deras ställningstaganden gentemot cannabis. För att motverka att bruket ska öka i framtiden bör man se över vilka risk- samt skyddsfaktorer som påverkar deras attityder samt bruk av drogen. Idag råder en oro över att legaliseringsdebatten runt om i världen kan resultera i en negativ följd i form av allt mer liberala attityder bland den yngre generationen. Syftet med denna studie är därav att undersöka relationen mellan ungdomars attityder, eventuella bruk och de risk- samt skyddsfaktorer vilka finns i deras sociala omvärld. Resultatet från föreliggande studie visar att ungdomarna i den berörda kommunen har en restriktiv inställning gentemot cannabis dock visas en liberalare attityd bland de som testat substansen.

The purpose of this essay is to raise and discuss children?s problems with concentration in two areas, stress and Adhd, where the symptoms are similar to each other. During recent years I have experienced how "difficult" children increasingly have been diagnosed and "stamped" with various combinations of letters. Because of my own children?s diagnoses, this has raised my interest in studying children´s modes of expression and behavior, and I have come to question whether many children who receive a diagnosis of Adhd really are afflicted by it.

Payday loans are becoming a challenge of increasing gravity for society. Statistics show that the number of young adults with financial issues related to such loans has been growing over the past few years. Despite efforts to halt this trend, little is changing. Government mandated warning labels in commercials are typically used to inform about the risks associated with the consumption of certain goods and services, such as alcohol and tobacco. Despite issues related to payday loans, there is currently no legislation in Sweden mandating the inclusion of warnings in marketing of such loans.

Skatteverket är en av Sveriges viktigaste statliga myndigheter då myndigheten på något sätt berör alla individer i samhället. Studiens syfte är att skapa en djupare förståelse för varför det finns en diskrepans i svaren från Skatteverkets medarbetarundersökning 2013, gällande upplevelsen av arbetstillfredsställelse, i relation till synen på Skatteverket som en attraktiv arbetsplats samt till synen på att rekommendera arbetsplatsen till andra personer. Studien tar utgångspunkt i begreppet arbetstillfredsställelse, som betraktas som attityder människan känner gentemot sitt arbete, och tillämpar ett kvalitativt angreppssätt. Genom 12 semistrukturerade intervjuer med handläggare på ett skattekontor i Västsverige, görs en ansats till att förklara diskrepansen utifrån en analys av medarbetarnas uppfattningar. Det empiriska materialet har analyserats genom fenomenologisk dataanalys och studiens slutsatser visar att det finns en viss grad av missnöje bland handläggarna gällande faktorer såsom löneutveckling, bristande karriärvägar samt upplevelsen av andra människors uppfattning om handläggarens arbete och arbetsplats. .

In today's fast-paced, intense and complex media environment, it is hard for non-profit charity organizations to reach out and get their messages heard.In this study we examine whether the theories of advertising signaling also applies for charities. Past studies of the signaling theories indicates that higher perceived advertising expense leads to more positive effects on purchase behavior and brand perceptions. However, we believe that this does not apply for a charity organization. We argue that since charitable organizations have a fundamentally different mission than commercial companies, they will need different ways to signal quality and credibility, and therefore the common signal-theories will not hold for these organizations.To test our hypotheses, we conducted two surveys where the respondents saw one of five versions of the same ad for a well-known Swedish charity organization, or one of two ads for a commercial corporation. The ads had been manipulated to simulate different levels of perceived cost.Our results shows that perceived ad cost only affects attitude towards the ad if a charity was the sender, whereas perceived ad cost affects intentions, Attitudes and credibility if a commercial corporation was the sender.
