I arbetet undersöks hur kunskap om systemtänkande och ekosystemtjänster kan användas vid utformning av ett produktionslandskap ansluten till fjärrvärme i området Elleholm i Karlshamns kommun. Anledningen till arbetets fokus är slutsatser om utbyggnad av resurshushållande växthussystem i Elleholm som drogs under masterkursen Energy Landscapes, våren 2014. Målet med examensarbetet har varit att bidra med djupare analys av växthusutbyggnad utifrån teori och att med en landskapsarkitektonisk vinkling rekommendera placering och utformning av utbyggnad inom ett avgränsat projektområde. Systemtänkande och ekosystemtjänster undersöktes först teoretiskt i en litteraturstudie och applicerades sedan praktiskt i en fallstudie. Litteraturstudien visar att systemtänkande baseras i en vetenskaplig teori, systemteori, som influerat flertalet discipliner och även påverkat teori inom landskapsarkitektur. Landskapet kan ses som ett komplext och öppet system med flera subsystem och systemnivåer. Begreppet ekosystemtjänster (ekosystemens direkta och indirekta bidrag till människors välbefinnande) har i sin tur uppkommit för att försöka påverka och styra samhällsplanering mot beslut som möjliggör ekosystem att fortsätta ?ge? människan ekosystemtjänster. Ekosystemtjänster kan ses som komponenter i ett landskapssystem. I fallstudien applicerades teori kring landskapssystemets nivåer och ekosystemtjänster för att få kunskap om system inom projektområdet i Elleholm.

The purpose of this thesis work is to formulate a model with methods that describe key success factors to get understanding and awareness in organizational change projects. We have used a project within the township of Gothenburg as a case and connected to this single project the purpose is to identify key success factors to get understanding and awareness among employees within the township of Gothenburg. We hope that our result will be useful in other large organizational change projects. Theoretic basis for our study have been models and methods, while our purpose have been to construct a model with suitable methods for anchoring. Theories about coaching and process management are examples of methods to get understanding and awareness among employees in change projects.

Bland annat har en analys av vilka olika varmesystem sompassar bra for ett lag-/plusenergihus gjorts i denna examensrapport, med stod avreferensobjekt. For att huset i framtiden ska kunna utnyttjas som ett plusenergihusbehovs ett system som har kapacitet att lagra energi under en kortare tid.

Text-till-talsystem blir allt vanligare i vardagen, och det forskas även en hel del på utvecklingen av tal-till-talöversättningssystem. Många företag använder sig i allt större utsträckning av telefontjänster där automatiska system med syntetiskt tal och taligenkänning ersätter människor. För att vi som konsumenter ska känna att det är bekvämt att nyttja dessa tjänster och förstå budskapen är det viktigt att dessa syntetiska röster låter så naturliga som möjligt. Det som gör en röst naturlig är dess prosodi, dvs.dess ickesegmentella aspekter såsom röstens intonation, intensitet och tempo, för att nämna några. Prosodin har inte endast lingvistiska funktioner utan den signalerar även känslor och attityder hos talaren.

3D modeling is a common tool in landscape architecture. Today, there have been new ways in which virtual 3D models are successful tools in the dialogue with the public. These new methods involve children and young people who are groups that is hard to reach and engage in citizen dialogues. The purpose of this work was to investigate how a virtual 3D model works in the landscape architect?s communication with the public through the project Gruvstadsparken in Kiruna. Through workshops, I wanted to communicate Gruvstadsparken to get ideas from participants on how the park can be used and be revisited.

Sub Saharan Africa has during the last decade become the world?s fastest urbanizing region. This change is concentrated to a few metropolitan areas one of them being Dar es Salaam, the largest city of Tanzania. Since the 1960s Dar es Salaam has grown from being a relatively small coastal city of approximately 300 000 people to become a bustling urban centre of four million inhabitants. This development has had a major impact on the city structure, which in turn has affected people?s welfare and the surrounding environment. One such consequence is the detrimental loss of urban vegetation and open areas in the city.

Stockholm Stad behöver utöka kapaciteten på sina badhus samt idrottsanläggningar. Därtill är renoveringsbehovet stort på samtliga badhus. Badet i Västertorp täcker ett stort område och är populärt men behöver nu rivas pga. det dåliga skicket. Istället ska man bygga bostäder på platsen och flytta ner det nya badet till Mellanbergsparkens södra spets för att samtidigt bli en bullerbarriär mellan motorvägen (E4/E20) och parken som man vill börja programmera.

The population growth and urbanisation in low-income countries bring issues of poor living standards and miserable sanitation conditions onto the agenda. If well-functioning waste management systems were developed, this could master some of the problems. The already existing local informal waste handling system that is common in many low-income countries, needs to be developed with proper sorting and composting solutions to decrease the environmental burden and improve the overall situation in the dense cities. This master?s thesis project is performed with the intention of developing functional decentralised waste management units in the city of Pune, India.

My purpose with this thesis has been tostudy the intersection between Landscapearchitecture and Land Art. They both relateto the landscape in some way whetherit is to the urban landscape or thenatural landscape.What tangent points are there betweenthese two subjects, and can you learnsomething of the artists approach to thelandscape?Land Art is an art movement that began inthe late 60?s, what links are there to thecurrent landscape?Last summer, I travelled around the U.S.for a month and visited the three classicLand Art projects. Lightning Field in NewMexico, by Walter De Maria, Sun Tunnels inUtah, by Nancy Holt and the Spiral Jetty,also in Utah, by Robert Smithson.The sites where visited from half a day upto 24 hours and was described and analyzedwith text and photographs.To visit these sites has been crucial formy thesis and will affect my future workas a landscape architect. The use of themethod has been a thought of mine for along time, particularly to analyze ordescribe a landscape with images.

Old industrial sites bear witness of the unsustainable industrial developments in the past. Today many of them stand abandoned and empty, old structures lacking function in our present society. We have in this thesis participated in a visionary student competition arranged by IFLA, International Federation of Landscape Architecture by developing a proposal based on a vision of how Stockholm can stimulate a greener development. We have done this by turning an unsustainable industrial site in the city into an ecological node; Arboretum Lövholmen. Our aim is to develop an entry for IFLA?s visionary student competition by creating a new sustainable design for the industrial area of Lövholmen in Stockholm. We have worked with the following research questions: How can we create a visionary design proposal for Lövholmen that promotes sustainable development with the help of ecological design? How can the competition format be a design tool? How can the working process developing a competition entry progress? The competition demands have shaped our working process and functioned as a platform for the structure of this thesis.

This is a 20 credit Master thesis within the landscape architecture education at the Institute for Landscape Planning at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences at Alnarp. Norränga is situated on the fringe of the city of Lund, east of the existing district of Linero.The city planning office of Lund municipality has come up with a ?in-depth comprehensive plan? for the exploatation of the eastern area of Lund. The plan concerns an area of 1035 square kilometre which contains at least 1500 nya buildings, two schools, primaryschools, stores and bus station for local bus traffic and the new bus line - Lundalänken. The townplan is inspired from the historical Square block city with defined street system. The municipality has visions of what the green areas should consist of.

The subject of this project focuses on how Landscape Architects by their profession can explore and directly make a difference in the cityscape. This paper documents the process of art - based research practice. The purpose of installing temporary activities is to encourage people in the city to discover, participate and invite people to be more playful in the city. My experience of interaction in public spaces comes primarily from the education within landscape architecture, from site-specific art installations I have performed in different cities and from observations of landscape architecture, street art and urban life in the cities of Vienna, Berlin and Linköping. It is fascinating and inspiring to see how the urban space can invite and allow visitors to participate and therefore feel invited to the open space. As a landscape architect I wish to create urban spaces that are useful and inspiring for their visitors. The projects main question: How can you make temporary landscapes that encourage outdoorinspired activities at selected locations in the city? is answered by practice based research, an approach in which theoretical research are developed through practical experiments in the designing- and implementation process.

När man arbetar med gröna miljöer ställs man ibland inför problematiska platser där ingenting verkar överleva. Ett exempel är platser med skuggiga och torra ståndorter. Växter är beroende av solljus och vatten för att leva således kan det vara svårt att hålla dessa platser grönskande. Därför är det spännande att söka svar på vilka växter som kan trivas och ge en vital grönska för skuggiga och torra ståndorter.Studiens frågeställning lyder: Vilka växter kan ge vital grönska i torra och skuggiga ståndorter i urban miljö? Den kompletteras med underfrågan: Bör man göra något särskilt i anläggningsskedet av en skuggig och torr ståndort för att öka möjligheterna för en vital grönska? Svar på varför vissa växter är bättre lämpade för vissa ståndorter har sökts genom litteratur kring biologi, växtfysiologi, växter och stresshantering samt trädgårdslitteratur.

?Architecture has always required representation. Architects have ideas, and ideas must be visualized and communicated. Models are one of the architect's tools.? (Moon 2005) Detta konstaterande får inleda mitt arbete som genom att tillverka modeller syftar till att undersöka modellen som verktyg, för arkitekter och planerare, samt dess plats inom planeringsprocessen.
