This thesis in Art History and Visual Science is about values to graffiti and graffiti Artist Banksy. I have studied values relating to Banksy´s graffiti images through which context they are placed in and where they are located. I have selected two different images of Banksy as an example on the basis of a transnational phenomenon, where the images that circulate in the public arena by street art and other images and imported into the galleries and consumption market. My conclusion is that the values of the images are based on the context in which each room have its surroundings and that therefore the impression will increase. The public space context, signal availability and the white cube context indicates art, and the commercial context signals goods and items that can be bought.

This study analyses the german writer and Artist Unica Zürn´s novel, The Man of Jasmine,1970 (Jasminmannen). Zürn was mostly active in the surrealist avantgarde in Paris during the 1950ies - and 60ies. The male surrealist images of women was polarised in to the godlike, child and the erotic, convulsive object. The mythologizied woman was the muse of men´s creativity. But still there were many women Artists who participated in the movement, so clearly there was something in surrealism that attracted women.

The study focuses on the use of poetry in language teaching in the lower grades in the Swedish school. Poetry has a reputation of being an art form with such specific rules and structures that children and teachers think that it is something that they do not have the ability to work with.  The purpose of this study is to get an understanding of how poetry is used in educating children. My research is based on the following questions. To which extent is poetry being used in schools and how is it being used?Can you as a teacher see any effects on childrens language development by using poetry?As a part of my study I have met with and interviewed four different people, who in one way or another is involved in teaching children. Two working teachers in the lower grades, one pedagogical resource and one Artist that work with teachers in reaching different goals through the help of aesthetic processes.

Resultatet visade att musikrelaterad metadata visserligen presenteras i ma?nga skepnader, men att fa? stationer har anammat majoriteten av denna funktionalitet.

Den här uppsatsen undersöker sambandet mellan en musikvideoprocess och endesignprocess samt vilka visuella teoretiska verktyg som finns att tillgå vid enbudskapsfokuserad musikvideo. För att ta reda på detta har vi gjort en introspektion avvår process av att producera en musikvideo åt en etablerad svensk Artist. I arbetetpresenterar vi hela processen från första vision till de sista förberedelserna. Uppsatseninnehåller produktionsmaterial så som storyboard och inspelningsschema. Som stödtill vår produktionsprocess har vi sammanställt en modell som bygger på Löwgren ochStoltermans (2004) designprocess samt de budskapsfokuserade teoretiska visuellaverktygen (så som semiotik, sync points och musikanalys) som kan underlätta i just ensådan här process.

Anne Charlotte Leffler, Victoria Benedictsson and Frida Stéenhoff were all part of the Modern Breakthrough in Swedish literature. By utilizing Jürgen Habermas theoretical works on communicative action, and Nancy Fraser?s supplementary reading of his theory, this essay makes clear that the authors? struggle for an understanding and a rethinking of social norms in their plays Skådespelerskan (1873), Romeos Julia (1888) and Lejonets unge (1896) can be read as a contribution to the public debate. Dialogue has a key function for female authors during the Modern Breakthrough. Women and mens? possibilities to take part in conversation and argument as equals, requires the professional woman?s transgression and access to the privileges of both public (State) administration ? ?system?, and world of everyday life ? ?lifeworld?.

En beskrivning av ett borgarhus i trä från 1700-talet, tillika grafisk verkstad för konstnärer. Huset Krogen Amerika i Linköping är ett av de äldsta trähusen som är bevarat på sin ursprungsplats. Det sätts här in i en historisk och socialhistorisk kontext. Syftet är framförallt att beskriva hur konstnärsföreningeen " Krogen Amerika- Grafikcentrum i Östergötland" bildades och flyttade in sin verksamhet i det gamla huset. Här ges också en förklarande teori om hur föreningslivets höjdpunkt, grafikens uppsving som konstform och rivningsvågen i Sverige under 1960-1970-talet sammanstrålade och gav upphov till att flertalet konstnärdrivna föreningar bidrog till att rädda äldre byggnader från rivning.

The purpose of this study is to understand and get increased knowledge about what it means to see Artists as brands. What are the typical assets and what kind of advantages and disadvantages are distinctive when it comes to applying a brand perspective on Artists. Brands are an important part of our lives today, and the benefit of seeing a company as a brand has made that not only big companies are interested in building brands. Beyond companies even persons now want to become brands. The new perspective in seeing persons as brands is interesting and something that made us curious to investigate.

In this essay the renewal of the modern sacred art has been examined through the creation of three works of art from the art project ?Kyrkorummet?. The aim has been to show that renewal of the modern sacred art is best accomplished by the combination of the Artist history and Bible knowledge and the open mindness of the beholder towards the new and creative, in order to communicate the gospel in modern time.The large extend of the art project demanded a selection of the art works. Therefore, three were chosen and they show the last supper and the baptism in a renewal way including both symbolism and creativity. To complete and facilitate the analyses, a theme, light and water, have been used as well as relevant theories in art history with Kandinsky as main art critic.Through the art project and it?s teaching, history in combination with present time through visits in different and modern churches, thoughts have been stimulated and the result has been new works of art that speaks of our time.

AbstractIn this essay I am examining the representation of popmusic with particular focus on gender and identity in two youth magazines called Kamratposten and Julia. Using the method of Norman Faircloughs critical discourse analysis I have studied ten interviews with popmusicians from each magazine based on the theorys of representations, discourses within popularmusic and queer theory. The intention with this study was to examine how popularmusic is represented in youth magazines. If the magazines were reproducing femininity and masculinity in the interviews with the musicians, and in the representation of popmusic in the magazines. And also if there were any differences and similarities between the magazines regarding the representation of popmusicians.The analysis lead to the conclusions that how popmusic is represented in the magazines depends on what the magazines wan´t to represent on the basis of their target groups and ideologies.

The purpose of this examination is to identify how notions of Swedishness is created Artistically, and from where these notions come. My method is to make a study on exhibition catalogues on the theme Swedishness/Nordism, with focus on the contemporary Swedish Artist Peter Johansson. With a retrospect of his childhood in Dalecarlia, he investigates a Swedish iconography with it?s roots in national romanticism, which for more than one hundred years has been preserved and exploited of the tourist industry to market Sweden. It?s this monotonous iconography that Johansson deconstructs to make it appear like something else ? namely an iconography based on ethnic purity, which pushes away the foreign and protects the own.

This study examines the work of art in the underground station Kungsträdgården in Stockholm and discusses the observers interpretation of the art in the station. When the Artist Ulrik Samuelson got his commission to shape the station he was influenced by Marcel Duchamp and the concept art. Two themes were integrated in the work of art, the actual culture life and the palace called Makalös, which was situated just above the currant station, three hundred years ago. The station was built in two stages.The first part was opened in 1977 and the second part in 1987. Panofsky´s iconographic working method has been used in this essay.
