Denna kandidatuppsats avhandlar hur manliga respektive kvinnliga artistgrupper bygger upp sina varumärken på det sociala mediet Instagram. Vi har tittat närmare på hur två artistgrupper kommunicerar genom de bilder som har postats på deras Instagram-konto. De två artistgrupper vi har undersökt är svenska Nause samt Rebecca & Fiona. Uppsatsen undersöker om och hur traditionella könsroller reproduceras i nya medier samt hur man som artist kan bygga upp sitt varumärke genom Instagram.   Teoretisk utgångspunkt som används för undersökningen är marknadskommunikation och varumärkesteori.

Uppsatsen behandlar hur skivbolagen väljer att marknadsföra begåvningar/egenskaper hos en artist. Undersökningen bygger på en kvalitativ studie där sex mindre fallstudier inkluderades. De sex artister/grupper som studerats innefattade valen av marknadsföring vid lanseringen, begåvning samt varumärkesbyggande. I undersökningen har alla använt sig efter det som kallas ett planerat angreppssätt, vilket går ut på att ha en strategisk plan på hur de skall marknadsföra artisterna/grupperna för att uppnå störst möjlig effekt. För att påverka konsumenterna väljer skivbolagen att sammansätta marknadsföringsinsatserna efter benämningen i referensramen, marknadsföringsmaskinen.

The purpose of this study is to explore the factors affecting an individual's working life mobility and how this mobility is perceived by the individual. The study has a qualitative approach and the theoretical part is based on Castells', Giddens' and Bauman's theories of modern society and employment in relation to the individual. The study concludes that external circumstances in combination with internal driving forces are the reasons behind changing careers. The process is predominantly perceived as positive, especially education tends to strengthen self-identity. Purpose: The purpose of this study has been to identify different actors and processes in music recording. We find this interesting since there have been a lot of changes in the music industry over the last years. Our ambition has been to point out different actors and their roles during the advent of recorded music, and identify different features and processes in the creation of music today and in the future. To fulfill our purpose we have had the following research question: What characterize, in a future perspective, the gathered process during the creation of recorded music from idea to delivery and experience?Method: We have used a qualitative approach for this study and we have conducted seven interviews with persons from different areas of the Music Industry and radio.

Den här undersökningen fokuserar på hur skivomslagen ser ut inom hiphop och glam metal i Sverige i en jämförelse över tid. Undersökningen ska även besvara de förändringar eller icke- förändringar som skett, samt hur kulturen påverkar utformandet av skivomslag inom varje musikgenre. Syftet är att får en ökad förståelse och inblick i kopplingen mellan musikgenre och bild i utformandet av skivomslag. Med hjälp av den semiotiska bildanalysen har skivomslagen analyserats under två olika tidsperioder. Resultaten av analyserna visar att båda musikgenrerna har gått över till mer tolkningsbara skivomslag.

The purpose of our study has been to analyze the character of the interaction between music labels and media and to examine to what extent the artist brand is being considered in music labels relationship with media. This has resulted in our research question:What characterizes the large music labels relationship with media?For this study we have used a qualitative approach to achieve a deeper understanding of our chosen topic. We have conducted seven interviews with representatives from both major record labels and media companies with great knowledge about our subject. Five of the interviews were conducted face-to-face and two were performed via e-mail.In the final chapter we answer our research question and thus present our conclusions.

Today almost every artist has a music video. With today?s technology it has become a lot easier for smaller companies or amateur filmers to produce and distribute their work. But how important is an artist?s music video and where do people find their music these days? Other questions we wanted to answer were if there is a typical way a music video looks like based on its genre.

The abscence of the brazilian artist Tarsila do Amaral (1886?1973) in the general art history is investigated, using the colonial structure as a starting point. In South America she is regarded as one of the greatest artists in modern time, in the rest of the world she is more or less unknown. The conclusion is that the colonial mechanisms are still in progress in our assumed postcolonial world, and has excluded Tarsila do Amaral, and the anthropophagic movement she was a part of, from the art history. The study points out the importance of looking into this neglected artist and the historic event.

The music distribution in Sweden and the world is rapidly changing. The music industry, however, has been reluctant to change the way they distribute music. The consequence has been that illegal music files have been available for downloading to anyone with an Internet connection. Because of the illegal downloading a new law have been implemented in an attempt to stop this behaviour. Our theory is that in implementing the IPRED-law, the sites that were hosting most of the illegal material will experience a severe decrease in traffic.
