Denna uppsats bygger på åtta semi-strukturerade intervjuer med frivilligt ensamstående mammor genom insemination eller IVF. Mammorna svarade bland annat på frågor om beslutet, det privata och det formella nätverket och om tankar om familjeformen. Uppsatsens huvudsakliga syfte var att öka kunskapen om senmoderna familjeformer genom att undersöka hur kvinnor som är frivilligt ensamstående via insemination eller IVF reflekterade kring sin familjeform och vilka resurser de mobiliserade i sina nätverk. De frågeställningar som avhandlades i uppsatsen var:- På vilket sätt kom de frivilligt ensamstående mammorna fram till sitt beslut att forma en frivilligt ensamstående mamma-familj och hur realiserade de beslutet?- Vilka tankar och erfarenheter i relation till sin familjeform har mammorna?- På vilket sätt mobiliserar mammorna resurser främst genom sitt privata nätverk men även i relation till samhällets olika formella nätverk?Resultaten analyserades dels utifrån det sociologiska resonemanget om det senmoderna samhället med fokus på begreppen reflexivitet, individualitet och autonomi och dels på teorier om sociala nätverk.

The purpose of this essay was to examine how childless homosexuals (men and women) were looking at family formation and parenthood. The essential questions were how the homosexuals felt about their own parenthood in the future and about different family constellations. We also wanted to examine how they experienced reactions from the society and what they thought about the current Swedish laws in force of adoption and insemination.We have chosen to work with a qualitative method and interviewed nine childless homosexual men and women in the age between 21 - 39 years to get some answers about the questions above.The main result from the interviews was that the homosexuals had the same thoughts like any other future parent but with a more complicated engagement. Even though they some times felt a resistance in the society against homosexual parenthood it was not a thing that would stop them from getting children..

Communication is an important part of any multi-agent system. There are different ways of communicating and they have different effects on a multi-agent system. This project describes and evaluates two different ways of communication, implicit and explicit. To compare the two methods, two experiments have been executed. The result of the experiments have been compared and discussed.

In the profession of architects there is an element called architectural competitions, where several architects compete in submitting the best solution for a certain task. In this master?s thesis I am studying the competitor?s perspective of an international architectural competition, while at the same time gaining experiences for my future career as a landscape architect. The aim of this thesis is to through an introspection of my own process examine a competitors view of the international architectural competition and how to approach the difficulties concerning international competitions. Through that I hope obtain experience about the international competition as part of the profession of landscape architects and other involved professions. To examine a competitor?s reflection of an international competition, I entered and competed in LE:NOTRE Student Competition, a competition for students where the task was to develop 25 kilometers of complex urban periphery along a chain of natural and artificial lakes in Bucharest, Romania.

Emotron is a company specialised in developing, producing and marketing equipment to con-trol, monitor and protect processes and machinery driven by electric motors, with an applica-tion focus. Examples of uses for their products are fans, pumps, lifts and cranes.The project is to look at Emotrons end of line test. The company has seen that at the final test-ing there is a bottleneck that restricts the outflow and prevents an increase in the number of tested products.The purpose of this project is to review how Emotrons end-of-line test works today and if there is a possibility to make the test more efficient in such a way that the quality is not at risk, while increasing the outflow of tested products.The projects first step is to look at and analyse what is causing the bottleneck at the end-of-line. When the analysis is complete, the next step is to review whether there is a possibility to solve the bottleneck and if so in what way can this be done. Emotrons most overall objective of the project is to increase the outflow of the number of tested products without jeopardizing the quality.An analysis has been made on frequency inverters, soft starters and shaft power monitors.

Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att undersöka mannens rättigheter och skyldigheter vid faderskapsfastställelse. För att kunna besvara detta har vi beskrivit hur faderskap fastställts respektive upphävts i Sverige. Vi har även berört det internationella faderskapet och faderskap vid insemination för att få en helhetsbild. Vi har dessutom genomfört en undersökning angående fastställande av faderskap enligt norsk rätt. För att få information till uppsatsen har vi studerat lagtext, förarbeten, prejudikat och doktrin.

AI är något som blir allt viktigare inom dagens spel och får allt högre krav på att agera mänskligt och intelligent. Detta kandidatarbete undersöker vilken metod som är att föredra för att skapa en AI som kan lära sig av sina tidigare erfarenheter. Några av de metoder som undersöks är trädstrukturer, Artificial Neural Network och GoCap. Genom att skapa en applikation med en av metoderna samt göra en undersökning på hur AI:n i applikationen upplevdes fick vi resultat om denna metod var användbar. Utifrån detta diskuteras det ifall andra metoder hade varit mer effektiva, hur man hade kunnat förbättra AI:n samt hur framtiden för spel-AI skulle kunna se ut..

I denna uppsats sammanställs och granskas forskning som handlar om sexualitet och föräldraskap. Metoden som använts är systematisk litteraturstudie. Teoretisk ansats är intersektionalitet med fokus på maktdimensioner som klass, genus och sexualitet. Resultatet visar att den granskade forskningen ofta utgår från heteronormativa föreställningar och sociala konstruktioner som referensramar. Bedömningar som socialarbetare gör kring homosexuella par som ansöker om adoption utgår från heteronormativa och socialt konstruerade föreställningar om homosexualitet och föräldraskap.

Health and fitness are two controversial and not easily defined topics that affect people in our modern society every day. We believe that we can find a link between individualism, globalization and the stress concerning weight and appearance ideals. Our bodies have turned into a popular subject for the media, and there is no indication that the interest will decline. As the world gets more artificial, "natural" ideals are getting more attention, such as the concept of a strong and healthy body. But there is also a downside, for example with health issues such as cardiovascular disease increasing following the birth of high-fat diets.

Vid analys av fluider med akustisk spektroskopi finns ett behov av att finna multivariata metoder för att utifrån akustiska spektra prediktera storheter såsom viskositet och densitet. Användning av artificiella neurala nätverk och bayesiska nätverk för detta syfte utreds genom teoretiska och praktiska undersökningar. Förbehandling och uppdelning av data samt en handfull linjära och olinjära multivariata analysmetoder beskrivs och implementeras. Prediktionsfelen för de olika metoderna jämförs och PLS (Partial Least Squares) framstår som den starkaste kandidaten för att prediktera de sökta storheterna..

Bakgrund: Varje år lider globalt ca 60-80 miljoner par av infertilitet och cirka hälften av dessa beror på manlig infertilitet, som är ett multifaktoriellt syndrom. Låg eller ingen spermieproduktion står troligen för 50 % av fallen. Orsakerna kan vara genetiska eller förvärvade miljö- eller livsstilsfaktorer. Stor andel diagnostiseras dock med idiopatisk infertilitet. Den ökande prevalensen av diabetes mellitus kommer troligen att öka förekomsten av subfertilitet (nedsatt fruktsamhet) eller infertilitet.

Virtual Communities is an increasingly common phenomenon on the Internet. Most of the Virtual Communities are operated and maintained on a non-profit basis with a direction towards entertainment. However, as more state administrated and commercial services become web-based, we believe that the number of Virtual Communities with a community-based or commercial direction will increase in a near future. In this thesis, we describe our participation in, and studies of, a number of Virtual Communities with focus on the IRC-channel ?3dfxsweden?. On the basis of our experiences, we describe the social elements that form the foundation on which the Virtual Community rely on.

In this Bachelor thesis I explore sound and room as elements in design of user interfaces, both theoretical and practical in a specific application domain, to identify some of the advantages and disadvantage associated with these elements. As application domain I studied email clients and their usage at home amongst students at Blekinge Institute of Technology. In the study I found an activity, which seems to be highly distributed in the physical room where the user is located. The activity was notification of email and could take place in an arbitrary location of the home. I then augmented this activity with ideas from my theoretical assumption about room and sound. The result was a rule-based agent for notification of email, which primarily uses sound as interaction style..

Artificiella neurala nätverk (ANN) har många användningsområden inom datavetenskap. Några av dessa är mönsterigenkänning, robotik, processkontroll, optimering och spel. Detta examensarbete kommer att handla om hur en alternativ lösning på den traditionella arkitekturen av hur ett neuralnät kan se ut. Jag kommer att undersöka om man kan ta ett stort och komplext neuralnät och bryta ned detta till mindre neuralnät utan att förlora kvaliteten på botarna i en spelmiljö kallad Open Nero. Detta för att försöka minska beräkningshastigheten av neuralnäten och förhoppningsvis även göra så botarna lär sig ett bra beteende snabbare. Mitt examensarbete kommer att visa att min lösning av arkitekturen för ett neuralt nätverk inte fungerar speciellt bra då botarna inte lärde sig tillräckligt fort.
