Ten years ago the public computers with Internet access were introduced in the public libraries. The purpose of the public computers was to give the possibility of searching information. Along with the Internet came also communication media like chat and e-mail. This type of communication was a new function for the libraries and the reactions among the librarians were mixed. It has been a source of big frustration and attempts to block it has not succeeded.

Denna studie ämnar utreda om det förekommer någon skillnad i prestation mellan familjeföretag och icke-familjeföretag i börsnoterade företag i Sverige. Perioden som undersöks är från början av 1999 till slutet av 2003. Vi finner att familjeföretag fortfarande har stor närvaro i Sverige med en tredjedel av de undersökta företagen. Slutsatsen av vår studie är att det föreligger en statistisk säkerställd skillnad i prestation mellan de två grupperna. Utifrån studien går det dock inte att avgöra vad skillnaden beror på, d.v.s.

The aim of the paper is to examine how public libraries can develop their services for children with ethnic minority backgrounds as a user group. This is achieved through studying the conditions for library services provided for children aged 9-12 in this group by public libraries in suburbs densely populated with ethnic minorities. The paper uses both a literature review and empirical research on the community libraries in Rinkeby and Rosengård as well as the town library in Lund. Services potentially available to these groups are analysed and discussed in the later chapters. The overall conclusion is that those services provided for ethnic minority children are largely the same as those provided for in children library services in general.

På grund av maskinernas behov av att transportera bort restprodukter samt att nödvändiga vätskor ska kunna tillföras, har hål borrats ut ur betongbjälklaget i verkstad 77 vid Sandvik Toolings anläggning i Gimo under flera år. Detta utan att några större åtgärder har genomförts för att återställa bjälklaget till sin ursprungliga hållfasthet.Examensarbetets syfte är att kontrollera möjligheterna att göra hål i betongbjälklaget. Detta görs teoretiskt. Det som även skall besvaras är om det finns någon metod som kan återge betongbjälklaget en del av sin hållfasthet.Från Sandviks arkiv i Sandviken erhölls de ritningar som var aktuella. Dessa ritningar gav svar på byggnadens konstruktion.

Eight libraries, seven public libraries and one college library, in the northeast of Skåne serve as foundation in a collaboration where students and adult learners are placed in the center of attention. The aim of this Master's thesis in library and information science was to study how the students and adult learners in the northeast of Skåne perceive the library services that are developed with their needs in mind.Our method for this thesis was a quantitative interview study. We aimed to conduct interviews with users at the public libraries within the cooperation and thereby find out whether or not users within the target group were aware of the services that are developed and established within the northeast Skåne collaboration.The results showed that only a few respondents in the key target group did in fact know about certain parts of the library services especially developed for the northeast of Skåne-collaboration. The majority of the key target group also thought that study-related literature and reading rooms were the most important means that the libraries have to offer them in their studies. The northeast of Skåne-collaboration had many ideas concerning library services.

Undersökningens syfte var att undersöka hur lärare för de tidigare åren upplevde fortbildning genom att studera deras värdering av och motivation till fortbildning. Vidare var vår tanke att undersöka ämnesfördelningen och utbudet av fortbildning. Dessutom hade vi för avsikt att undersöka om det fanns eventuella krav på lärare från kommuner och högre instanser, som rörde fortbildning.Studien är av nationell och komparativ karaktär där vi valde att undersöka och jämföra två skolor, en grundskola i mellersta Sverige och en grundskola inom landskapet Åland.För att undersöka lärarnas värdering av och motivation till fortbildning använde vi oss av en enkätundersökning. Vi mottog sammanlagt 12 stycken besvarade enkäter, varav vi baserar enkätundersökningens resultat på. Då vi undersökte ämnesfördelningen och utbudet av fortbildning och om det fanns eventuella krav på lärare från kommuner och högre instanser använde vi oss av en dokumentanalys baserad på skolornas sparade arkiv angående fortbildning samt aktuella politiska styrdokumenten.

This thesis examines interfaith work from a general perspective and through the Swedish interfaith project ?Tillsammans för Sverige?. They are based in a famous youth center in Stockholm. The examination has two aims. The first is to identify the main characteristics of interfaith work and how they correspond with daily practice.

This thesis analyses the problem of how to organise a multidisciplinary domain of knowledge like architecture. The study is both theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part include discussions of theories of knowledge organisation. Two different principles of classification were examined in relation to the domain itself, as well as in relation to the educational programme at the School of Architecture at Lund University and comparable schools in Sweden. The empirical part is a case study carried out at the School of Architecture at Lund University.

I dagens turismbransch ökar konkurrensen ständigt mellan olika besöksmål vilket har lett till att länder måste finna nya sätt att differentiera sig på. I Sveriges fall är det den statliga organisationen VisitSweden som har det yttersta ansvaret för att skapa ett konkurrenskraftigt land. Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilken bild VisitSweden förmedlar av Sverige som besöksland och vilken bild internationella turister har av Sverige. För att ta reda på detta valde studien att använda en hermeneutisk metod där det genomfördes en diskursanalys av VisitSwedens marknadsföringsmaterial 2014, intervjuer med VisitSweden samt intervjuer med internationella turister. Studien kom fram till att VisitSweden förmedlar en bild av Sverige genom kärnvärdena natur och orördhet, tradition, och unicitet.

In the wake of the electronic revolution digital library has become one of the central themes concerning libraries. The present study takes up the question whether digital library can function in the same way as the conventional library. The question can obviously be posed from different perspectives, e.g. technological-, the user-, or the organizational perspective. The study investigates if (and how) digital library can have the same functions as the traditional library.

Syftet med denna studie är utredande och avser att utifrån Shane & Venkataramans teori om idéers uppkomst, MIRPs teori om innovationsprocesser och Sarasvathys teori om causation och effectuation explorativt beskriva och deduktivt tolka innovationsprocesser i Sverige. Problemformuleringen lyder: Hur uppkommer och utvecklas idéer till innovationer i Sverige?Empirin baseras på fyra intervjuer med representanter för fyra olika objekt vilka alla genomgått en innovationsprocess. I resultatdelen beskrivs dessa processer för att sedan analyseras utifrån de tre valda teorierna.Slutsatserna i studien är att innovationsprocesser i Sverige, med varierande avvikelser, uppkommer och utvecklas i enlighet med de tre bakomliggande teorierna..

This masters thesis shows that the changes in the scientific publishing system have affected the academic libraries. Both technological change and the increased prices on scientific journals have forced academic libraries to take action. Some Swedish academic libraries have started publishing the university s own research material. The issue has in many cases been treated more as a library concern, than as a concern for the university as a whole. Neither has there been a national coordination of these matters in Sweden.

Our state of emergency is good - is the public library prepared for the future?Our state of emergency is good! These are the words spoken by Prime Minister Per Albin Hansson in 1939. He claimed that Sweden had nothing to fear from a future war, we were safe. Today we know it was not so. Is this the situation for Swedish public library of today? Is the public library ready to face the future, or is it only fancy words?We have to form the future, not let the future form us.

Information management is today a matter of great importance for every organisation. It is therefore necessary for organisations to see information and its management as a significant part of the organisation s key to success. In this essay we have chosen to study the implications of information policy and information strategy for The Nordic Council/The Nordic Council of Ministers. These two intergovernmental organisations share the same information department. Although The Nordic Council/The Nordic Council of Ministers are non-profitable organisations, they share some characteristics with those acting in a competitive market.

This thesis presents a new way of providing library users with reference services, namely chat (text based digital reference service in real time). Our research questions focus on the role of reference service, a comparison of chat reference to other reference forms, and the interest for real-time, digital reference. Our literature review covered the areas of digital reference and reference theory, the results of which showed that an ongoing debate hardly exists among Swedish librarians on the topic of reference work. We interviewed librarians from the three different Swedish chat reference projects existing at the time of our study. Most interviewees were very positive about chat reference.
