In today?s society, it becomes more common with tablets, that makes us interact with computers in a whole new way. For example these are used to read and write e-mails, surf the web and playing games. Another manner of use of these tablets is to read and edit PDF documents. PDF handling is often meant to be used in books and inregular text documents, but it could also be used in the management of drawings.An industry that would benefit greatly from the use of tablets for this purpose is the con- struction industry.

I mitt examensarbete så har jag undersökt hur väl det lämpar sig att använda sig avtydliga grafiska ikoner för att skapa en karaktärsdesign som är tydligt identifierbar, oavsett grafisk stil. Jag har fokuserat på den första fasen, koncepttecknandet i detta arbete.koncepttecknandet valdes som metod eftersom detta är det första steget i de flesta produktioner och det är i just denna fas man kan effektivisera arbetet även långt fram iproduktionen.Metoden som jag använt är att studera dvd:er från Gnomon Workshop och Massive Black för att undersöka hur olika, väl etablerade konceptartister, går till väga för att undersöka grafiska stilar eller hur de förhåller sig till utmärkande element i karaktärsdesign inom en produktion. Jag har sedan utfört ett praktiskt arbete där jag skapat tre karaktärsdesigner inom tre grafiska stilar. Dessa designer har sedan konverterats till de två stilar de inte har sitt ursprung inom.Konverteringarna utvärderas sedan genom intervjuer med respondenter där de får granska designerna och sätta poäng på hur väl de identifierar karaktärsdesignerna mellan de grafiska stilarna.Jag kommer fram till att fler ikoner bidrar till en större identifierande faktor då man skapar karaktärer och konverterar dessa till andra stilar samt att tre är det minsta antalet ikoner är lämpligt att använda då man vill skapa en tydligt identifierbar karaktär, oavsett grafisk stil..

Idag finns det en mängd olika mobiltelefoner tillgängliga på marknaden och många av dessa har olika sorters stöd för ljud. Detta kan leda till stora problem för bland annat spelutvecklare, eftersom det är till fördel om spelet som skall publiceras kan fungera på så många olika mobiltelefoner som möjligt. Målet med detta arbete är att skapa en ljud- och musikhanterare för Furiae med MMAPI, Mobile Media API. MMAPI är ett API, Application Programming Interface, där v1.0 introducerades den 24:e Juni, 2002. Idag finns v1.2 som kom ut den 22:a Maj, 2006.

Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur en entreprenör/ kreatör produktplacerar i bästa mån för att överleva i modebranschen. Metod: Kvalitativ med intervjuer som bas för empirin. Slutsats: Med hjälp av en positioneringsmodell kan entreprenören/kreatören ta ställning till sina konkurrenter och placera sin produkt till den tänkta målgruppen. Teorin hjälper företagare att strukturera upp en annars komplex hantering som i nystartade företag ?bara sker?.

The aim of this examination project was to work with the processof making a pattern collection for fabrics. The collectionshould consist of at least three patterns with report measurementssuitable for screen print. I wanted the pattern collectionto be a simple, mystic and colourful collection with a folklorespirit like the popular rural life I experienced during my childhood.The purpose of the project was that I during the working processwould deepen my estethic background to enforce my personalgraphic expression ability and evolve as a pattern designer.I wanted to try to mix my personal view of domestic graphicexpression with another language that I gained in recent years.This I wanted to do in order to find the tools that could helpme clarify and develop my pattern signature.A few of the questions that I had about this project were if thelong scetching phase that I planned would help or damage theproject.I also thought it would be interesting to experiment with coloursin this project. I wanted to see how far I dared to go inmatter of colours as well as how the patterns would be visuallyexperienced if I for example reduced one colour or replaced itwith the opposite colour.I thought it was inspiring to work with traditional techniqueswith the colours. It was only positive that part of the patternstory telling was developed in an unpredicted direction duringthe scetching phase.

This master thesis aims to examine the methods of the conservation field and their visionabout maintenance and change, in terms of liturgical values. This is to be able todetermine if there is a need to develop the methods that the field of conservation has tosafeguard the intangible cultural heritage of the churches.This is mainly a literature review, focusing on different tutorials from the Swedish nationalheritage board, and different texts on liturgy aswell as Unesco's Convention for theSafeguarding of intagible Heritage (2003), ratified in Sweden in January 2011. A casestudy of the practical work has been carried out on three churches that have undergonechange. The application process and the results were important for this study.The conclusion is that the conservation field have ambitions to preserve the liturgicalvalues, but they do not have sufficiently developed methods to do so. Nevertheless, itappears that most cases of change in churches, increases the liturgical values..

Mobile Arts have a technical platform for handling maps and community-featured Points of Interest in cellular phones, where the users themselves can share locations with other users either in groups or public. Development of the platform regarding network communication has been included in this paper. The work evaluates different feasible business models regarding packaging the platform as a commercial application and also faces issues users have when using the product. Even if users found maps and POI interesting and cool in cellulars, the technical difficulties and lack of product focus during beta testing, were present. Therefore, the writers recommendation is more development of the platform and using a business model where Mobile Arts deliver to existing communities.

Data retrieved from airborne laser scanning represents a new source of forest data. Today, the technology has matured so that it can function in an operational environment. The aim of this study was to compile areas of application of laserdata in forestry. Moreover to analyze costs and accessibility of laserdata. The goal was to provide private forest owners information to support assessments of possible benefits of laserdata.

The case method is a relatively new pedagogical method in Sweden that is based on students exercising their skills in the analysis of complex situations and problems that are based in reality and that help students to see a broader perspective and context.The purpose of this study has been to investigate, through interviews with students and teachers, the advantages and disadvantages of the case method in teaching geography.The results of the study show that both teachers and students share almost the same opinion. The conclusion is that the case method is a didactic method that is well suited for teaching geography, as it is based on reality and develops the students? ability to analyze, argue and find solutions in several areas within the subject of geography. If a student is strong in these skill areas they can really benefit from the application of the case method in the teaching of geography, but for students who are weaker in these skills, the case method can be a disadvantage.

I takt med att antalet mobiltelefoner har ökat har även efterfrågan på fler tjänster för dessa ökat. Detta är en av anledningarna till att WAP-tekniken skapats och att den har fått så stor uppmärksamhet. WAP, Wireless Application Protocol, är ett kommunikationsprotokoll som gör det möjligt att utveckla tjänster för mobila klienter. Den har utvecklats genom ett samarbete mellan en mängd olika företag och är idag en öppen standard. För att kunna utnyttja den nya tekniken och anpassa nya tjänster bör man tänka på vissa faktorer såsom begränsningar gällande klienten, säkerhet och gränssnittet mot användaren.

AbstractPurpose/Aim: The purpose of this paper was to identify the communication process at the company Cherry casino and see what opinions the employees had about it. Moreover, an evaluation of the used strategies was done and an analysis about what perhaps could be done to improve the attitude, communication and in the end the result for the company.Material/Method: The empirical material was gathered through qualitative interviews and theory application.Main results: The transmission of information regarding the regular work related information works just fine and the channels used are well chosen. But more large-scale information that deals with the company?s plans, strategies and targets is not handled in the right way. Neither is the respond.

Goal: To describe which evaluation method is used by Swedish retailers to assess a potential retail location and to describe to what extent the retail brand effects this strategic decision. Design: Analysis of ten interviews with companies within five retail sectors in Sweden. Main study: Indication of what methods are used to evaluate a location and how a company's retail brand affects the decision. Results: Retailers use a mix of theoretical methods to evaluate the location attributes and possible profit. Most common among mixtures was an application of the analog method, residual method or the checklist method in combination with a financial assessment.

Denna rapport redovisar utvecklingen av en tjänst för att lättare kunna söka praktikplats och praktikanter. Tjänsten utvecklades som ett eget projekt att senare kunna visas upp som ett förslag för intressenter av verktyg som detta. Utvecklingen har följt dagens principer för användbarhetsdesign och upplevelsedesign. Målet har under hela utvecklingsperioden varit att skapa något som speglar denna tids trender och applikationer för möten. Resultatet av detta projekt har landat i en hifi prototyp, grafisk profil samt konceptbeskrivning för hur tjänsten ska fungera och användas.

This thesis has been performed at consulting firm Sweco Position in Jönköping. The thesis is divided into two main sections: theoretical and practical. The theoretical section contains an investigation into the possibilities of implementing a geographical information system (GIS) for administrations of wells with the integration of Bing Maps for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. The practical work comprises the development of a prototype for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.The students review the Model-View-ViewModel-pattern on a theoretical basis, compares the differences between Windows 8 Pro and Windows RT. The thesis also contains and investigation into the pros and cons of a web based application compared to a native one.The result of the thesis will be comprised of a GIS-service developed in C# in co-operation with XAML with the options of saving data locally and a WMS-based service layer for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8..

Arbetet har syftet att studera ergonomiska aspekter av pianoundervisning på kulturskolan. Vilka semiotiska resurser använder pianolärare när de undervisar utifrån ett ergonomiskt perspektiv, och hur används resurserna? Vilka förutsättningar skapar undervisningen vad gäller att förebygga kroppsliga och mentala spänningar i pianospelet hos elever? Ergonomi behandlar förhållandet mellan människa och arbetsmiljö i samband med redskap, i detta fall pianoinstrumentet i relation till hur musikern hanterar det. Undersökningen är ur ett multimodalt designteoretiskt perspektiv: läraren blir en designer av undervisningen som använder olika resurser för att forma förutsättningar för lärande. Den valda metoden är filmad observation i lektionssammanhang av pianolärare på Kulturskolan.
