This essay deals with non-normative gender expressions during childhood. I?m using narrative theory and methods to analyze autobiographical narratives. My questions are:What strategies does the non-normative person use to deal with his otherness?Using the methodological analysis tool ?turning point?, where are the turning points in the narratives? Are their any common turning points in the various narratives?Where is the responsibility placed in the narratives for that someone does not fit in by the adults/ staff at the school/kindergarten- on the non-normative person or at the surroundings?The experiences are interpreted through theories and concepts from queer theory and gender theory.

This paper addresses the need to review the modern presentation of textile archaeology in museums. It is time to look at textiles in archaeology with new eyes. The reality behind archaeological textilestudy is holistic, embracing many different aspects of society. The presentation of textiles has in my opinion become old-fashioned. I will show in my paper that Jonathan Adams? `seven constraints´ model, developed for research on ancient ships, can also be applied to textile research.

How the United States anti-terrorist strategy is affecting the view of democracy is the main analysis of this paper. The mechanisms that affect the idea of democracy have been studied on the basis of the philosopher Michael Foucault?s thoughts and the main direction in French discourse analysis. The study is restricted to the period between the 11th of September 2001 and today. Information has been collected entirely from the White House?s website http://www.whitehouse.gov, including speeches, conferences and reports.

Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka om, och i så fall på vilket sätt, samhällskunskapsutbildningen påverkas av Sverigedemokraternas framgångar i skolvalet och riksdagsvalet, utifrån ett lärarperspektiv. Vi undersökte också om lärarna har upplevt någon attitydförändring hos eleverna vad det gäller främlingsfientlighet, intolerans och rasism samt tittat på vad lärarna anser om den nya läroplanen där samhällskunskapsämnet blir mindre på yrkesförberedande linjer. Detta görs med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra samhällskunskapslärare och resultatet analyseras utifrån teorier om olika demokratimodeller samt ett ?vi och dom? tänkande. Resultatet visar att undervisningen ser olika ut beroende på vilken demokratimodell som präglar lärarnas arbetsmetoder samt att lärarna ser olika på betydelsen av Sverigedemokraternas framgångar och vilken inverkan den har på undervisningen..

Bipolär sjukdom (BS) är en kronisk sjukdom med återkommande perioder av mani och depression. Den bryter oftast fram i tonåren men i många fall diagnostiseras den inte förrän patienten är runt 30 år. Behandling för BS är livslång medicinering med stämningsstabiliserande läkemedel, i första hand litium, kombinerat med anti-depressiva läkemedel och anti-psykotiska läkemedel. Läkemedelsbehandling kombineras med psykoedukativ behandling eller kognitivbeteende terapi (KBT). En intensivbehandling följer efter det att diagnosen är ställd och det tar ofta upp till 2 år för patienten att hitta en balans i livet.Syftet med denna studie är att få en uppfattning om hur det är att leva med bipolär sjukdom.

In this thesis I discuss and analyse the relationship between USA and Europe since the end of the Cold War. Many authors claimed that the Soviet threat was the glue that kept the continents together. Now that threat is gone and new challenges have risen. In what way has this relationship been influenced by the new challenges this new era stands for? By doing a case study and by using two quite different theorists, John Mearsheimer an offensive realist and Joseph Nye who is a liberal institutionalist, I?ll try to show how for example September 11, anti-amerikanism and NATO can be explained and understood.

Med mitt examensarbete undersöker jag hur jag genom design och visuell kommunikationkan bidra till att synliggöra den mentala konflikt som skapas av de förväntningar ochkrav som både yrkesrollen och moderskapet innefattar.Jag har arbetat med schablonmässiga objekt vars estetisk hänger samman med antingenyrkesrollen eller moderskapet. Genom ett urval av olika kontrastfulla objekt från detvå rollernas materiella omgivningar arrangerar eller visualiserar jag olika situationer medhjälp av bilder. I bilderna gestaltas den mentala konflikten i fysisk form genom de olikaobjekten. Den slutgiltiga lösningen kommer att presenteras i ett utställningsformat somi sin helhet binder samman det visuella arbetet men som också associerar till innehålletsom bilderna kommunicerar..

Har du någonsin blivit trött på något i samhället? Alltså jag menar riktigt trött så man bara tänkervart är den här världen på väg egentligen, det kanske vore lika bra att bara skita i allt?Jag blir så trött ganska ofta. På till exempel fattigdom, hur vi behandlar djur, våldtäkter, krig, att viskiter i vår jord som helt uppenbarligen håller på att gå sönder, rasism, trångsynthet och att jag somkvinna år 2013 fortfarande inte lever i samma verklighet som män i min omgivning.Och till slut började jag känna på samma sätt när det kommer till design. Vad är meningen medyrket? Varför gör jag det här? Vem gör jag det för? Vad kan göras annorlunda? Var några av defrågor jag ville ge mig själv svar på.Hittills har jag kommit fram till att jag vill göra nytta.

This thesis sets out to investigate three questions, first, how the Belarusian democratization process has progressed since the country?s independence in 1991 to the year of 2006. Second, how the relationship between Russia and Belarus has progressed during this time and third, if and how Russia has affected the democratization process. The study has been conducted through qualitative method, mainly using books and articles as sources of information. It has been found that the democratization process in Belarus has evolved in a negative direction ever since the presidential election of 1994.

Will the discourse in a country effect the way an event is presented in the media? And will the event be presented in similar ways in different countries? These are the questions my paper aims to answer. By using critical discourse analysis I have analyzed the reporting of the Iraqi War in three big newspapers; one from USA, one from Sweden and one from Great Britain. The results show that the discourse in each country play a big part in how the news get presented in the media, and this is shown in how the news gets reported. The three countries had three different views on the same war.

The aim of the essay is to investigate how the term ?Third world? is constructed in media. With this I intend to make a historical survey of the conception. With the help of Swedish newspapers and their description of the concept, I am going to answer the following questions: How is the concept ?Third world? constructed in script, in a historical context and in modern time? This essay examines a small selection of Swedish newsreel and documentary short films, primarily travelogues, produced shortly before and after the second world war. The general aim is to expose differences in the representation of ?The Other? and the ?ethnic Swede? by applying a critical discourse analysis. The purpose is to illuminate how the material positions the latter as the norm and then contextualize this with xenophobic currents that had developed up until the middle of the twentieth century. Theoretical and methodological framework is drawn from the field of cultural studies as well as the nonfiction film.

This essay examines how humor is used in the making of stereotypes in the Kronlöf sister?s video SÅ JÄVLA PK! In addition I give my analysis of how power and resistance is shown in the video. Through Michel Foucault?s conception power and resistance together with Judith Butler?s theories about performativity I?d like to show how the characters you can see in the video, in addition to the humor, also put themselves in a public context. I discuss my material in relation to a number of similar and current events that concern sexism and racism in Sweden.
