Climate and environmental issues is now high on the agenda. We live in a generation that must try to solve some major environmental problems. Buildings and habitations account for approximately 40 % of Sweden's total energy today. To reduce this figure, as needed, more research in the field of energy efficiency is required.This thesis concerns the heating of buildings. The load on district heating is heavy during certain times of the day.

Since the 1990?s the Swedish school system has undergone major and recurring structural reforms. Two of the most comprehensive changes has been the shift of primary schools as an integral part of the welfare state to the responsibility of the municipalities as well as the introduction of free school choice for the students. Through two months of participant observations and semi-structured interviews this thesis seeks to answer the question of how these reforms has come to effect the work of teachers in a medium sized public school in a small municipality in the outskirts of Stockholm. Earlier research has shown that public schools in socio-economically vulnerable areas are disadvantaged due to the reformation of the school system (Beach & Sernhede, 2011; Östh, Andersson, & Malmberg, 2013).

Bakgrund: Diabetes typ 2 ökar i Sverige och kan ses som ett av våra stora folkhälsoproblem idag. Den främsta behandlingen är förändrade levnadsvanor. Att som sjuksköterska arbeta personcentrerat innebär att respektera och bekräfta individens upplevelse och subjektiva tolkning av hälsa samt främja hälsa i betydelsen som den specifika individen avser. Empowerment kan sägas vara hjälp till självhjälp, att skapa förutsättningar för att individen ska kunna ta den makt hen är berättigad till. Syfte: Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att söka evidensbaserad kunskap om sjuksköterskors rådgivande samtal om ohälsosamma levnadsvanor med personer som har diabetes typ 2 för att beskriva hur sjuksköterskan gör i praktiken vid patientsamtal och i den mån materialet tillåter applicera de av Socialstyrelsen rekommenderade beteendeförändringsmodeller på hur ett rådgivande samtal i praktiken ser ut.

I det här examensarbetet undersöktes hur designprocessen kan se ut när en grupp medelålders människor genom två workshops tar sig an ett designprojekt med hjälp av participatory design i det offentliga rummet. Participatory design innebär en deltagande design där brukaren, alltså den tänkta användaren, är med i hela designprocessen. Jag har utgått från allemansrätten som ram för det offentliga rummet. Jag har använt mig av etnografiskt inspirerad metod och gjort ett kortare fältarbete i en liten stad i Dalarna där jag genomförde designprojektet. Undersökningen utgår från frågeställningen:Hur kan designprocessen se ut när en grupp arbetar kollektivt med det offentliga rummet och allemansrätten som utgångspunk i ett designpedagogiskt projekt? Projektet har sedan dokumenterats med hjälp av foto, film och fältanteckningar.

The thesis examines how sex/gender and sexuality are represented through text and images within the Internet community Sylvia whose primary target group is girls. Through an examination of the aesthetics, the member rules and the choices that constitute the framework for the site, the study observes Sylvia as a cultural context. In relation to this setting, the ten most visited member profiles at the time for the study are more closely examined. These profiles are studied from a constructivist view of sex/gender and are analysed from the perspective of feminist and quee r theory as well as in the light of feministic debates concerning sexuality and erotica. The thesis shows how Internet as a forum and the non-heterosexual context Sylvia open up for a constructivist understanding of sex/gender and also leads to a questioning of "masculinity" and "femininity".

The current debate about environment and climate change has contributed to more andmore investment in alternative energy sources such as wind, solar and biogas. The Swedish Parliament has set the target that wind power should supply 10 TWh in 2015.In Sweden, wind power establishment began in the early 1980s. Since then the development has gained a tremendous momentum. The purpose of this study was to find out what problems wind power brings and what power relations that exists in connection with wind power establishment and how the landscape is affected by windpower construction, focusing on some cases in Falkenberg and Varberg. This study shows that wind power establishment is a very complicated process.

En organisation som vill reducera sina kostnader på lång sikt måste utveckla sina arbetssätt så att samma produkt kan skapas med färre resurser. Ett effektivare logistikflöde bidrar till reducerade kostnader och ökad lönsamhet för byggföretaget. Med flertalet interna och externa aktörer inblandade räcker det inte att byggentreprenören är individuellt effektiv, utan också effektiv tillsammans med övriga aktörer i försörjningskedjan. Därav krävs det för ett effektivt logistikflöde, fokus på både produktions- och materialflödet såväl som det tillhörande informationsflödet. Denna studie syftar därför till att ur ett ledningsperspektiv identifiera och beskriva problem kopplade till produktions-, material- och informationsflödet vid en byggarbetsplats, samt att identifiera åtgärder för att effektivisera dessa flöden.En fallstudie bestående av intervjuer och observationer genomfördes på Nåiden Bygg AB:s byggarbetsplats i Gäddvik, där produktions-, material- och informationsflödet studerades.

Hållbar utveckling är ett av FN:s övergripande mål. Utbildning ses som ett av de viktigaste verktygen för att förändra människors attityder och ge dem förmåga att lösa de problem som hör ihop med hållbar utveckling. I den svenska strategin för hållbar utveckling ges utbildning en viktig roll. Skolans verksamhet regleras av ett antal styrdokument på både nationell och lokal nivå. Dessa används för att genomföra nationella målsättningar om hållbar utveckling i skolan.

Bakgrund: Migrationen ökar över hela världen. Sverige har, i likhet med andra länder, förvandlats från ett relativt homogent till ett multikulturellt samhälle. Varje kultur har sin syn på hälsa och sjukdom. Vårdpersonal uppger att de upplever stora svårigheter i mötet med patienter från andra kulturer. Syfte: Denna studies syfte var att belysa hur sjuksköterskor och sjuksköterskestudenter upplever mötet med patienter från andra kulturer.

This report considers how the design and planning of the city can influence and promote a sustainable development focused on the social dimension. My prior intention was to look in to how a landscape architect can work with social matters of sustainability such as integration, equality, safety and so on. Which are our most successful tools and capabilities? I started to work with the historical background in September 2008 and soon discovered the multitude of theories and definitions of sustainable development, international, national and local. In Sweden the local political level has been given a lot of responsibilities to achieve a more sustainable society.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka i vilken utsträckning bloggare som skriver om nyheter ägnar sig åt arbete som kan leda till att journalistrollen hotas. Vidare undersöks vem som är avsändare till bloggar, då detta är avgörande för vilken trovärdighet som kan tillskrivas bloggosfären. Dessa punkter undersöks utifrån frågeställningar som berör dem, där tillförandet av information som inte förekommer i det ordinarie nyhetsflödet tillskrivs stor vikt. Dessutom undersöks vilken skillnad i ovan nämnda avseenden som går att märka mellan bloggrapporteringen om två nyhetshändelser av olika karaktär.Frågorna besvaras genom en kvantitativ innehållsanalys som undersöker 180 blogginlägg, 90 som behandlar vardera två nyhetsämnen. Blogginläggen i undersökningen är sådana som kommenterar nyheter och signalerar detta genom att länka till en artikel som behandlar nyheten i fråga.

Most of the clothes sold in Europe today are produced in developing countries where the production costs are lower. The exploitation of the developing countries has led to that the inferior working conditions in these countries have attracted attention from media and NGOs. Globalisation makes company activities more transparent and the absence of transnational laws calls for alternative regulations. Many companies in Europe has since mid 1990s developed codes of conduct to satisfy the demands of external and internal stakeholders. EU also brought Corporate Social Responsibility to it?s agenda in the beginning of the 2000s and subsequently signals of approaching laws were given.

Lotsbroverket is the largest wastewater treatment plant on the Aland Islands and it isdesigned for handling wastewater from approximately 30 000 persons. In 2011,Lotsbroverket produced about 2800 m3 of dewatered sludge. The sewage sludge that isproduced is transported to a contractor where it is processed to eventually be used e.g.in the construction of green space. This study aims to investigate available applicationoptions in terms of the sewage sludge that is produced in Lotsbroverket. The main aimis to study the feasibility of using the produced sewage sludge as a fertilizer in theagriculture of the Aland Islands.The sludge already fulfills limit values for heavy metals in accordance with the Act"The Aland Government´s directive on the use of sewage sludge in agriculture." Inorder to clarify the sludge content of pharmaceutical and organic substances it isrequired that the substances are identified and a risk assessment is performed.

The Swedish alcohol market has for many years been in the hands of the government. The question of the monopoly, its being or not being, has for a long time engaged both Swedish citizens and politicians. Since joining the European Union it has also been on the European agenda, trying to adapt Sweden to the more liberal alcohol politic in Europe.The suppliers find themselves acting on a completely different market than a market based on free competition. The suppliers are faced with one retail channel to the stores which creates dependence and uneven power balance towards the retailer. In addition to this, their marketing activities are strictly limited due to the laws and claims.
