Jag studerade förväntningarna på elektroniska diskussionsforum som ny kommunikationskanal i organisationen Lokal Agenda 21 i Öresundsregionen, kallad Öresund 21. Organisationen är ett treårigt EU-projekt med representanter från sex svenska och sju danska kommuner vars syfte är att främja en hållbar utveckling i kommunerna med fokus på plan- och beslutsprocesser, drift, i kontakten med kommunmedborgarna samt i utveckling av indikatorer för hållbar utveckling. Empiriskt material från undersökningsenheten har inhämtats genom diskussioner i fokusgrupper samt en enkät.Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera hur en organisation som startar upp ett elektroniskt diskussionsforum kan skapa förutsättningar för att deltagarna aktivt använder kommunikationskanalen. Utifrån detta analyserar jag vilka förväntningar deltagare från undersökningsenheter har i form av drivkrafter och hinder för att delta i elektroniska diskussionsforum. I analysen utgår jag ifrån undersökningar av praktikgemenskaper, kunskapsnätverk samt intranät och börjar därför genomgången med att definiera undersökningsenheten i relation till dessa begrepp.I studien av Öresund 21 kom jag fram till att deltagarna i organisationen förväntar sig uppleva drivkrafter och hinder för att delta i elektroniska diskussionsforum som stämmer väl överens med vad tidigare studier har visat.

This Masters thesis is concerned with the complex planning process of setting up a citizen bureau in a public library. The aim is to find out how citizen bureaux are designed and to suggest a simplified model of strategic planning. The planning process is studied from a business perspective in the library context, and this perspective is also used to study citizen bureaux and their written plans elsewhere. A combination of qualitative methods are used: observations, focus group discussions and interviews. Observations in the public library showed a great need for an environmental analysis as well as structure to the planning process.

Vi vill undersöka den debatt som har förts i några av Sveriges största dagstidningar gällande Bonnierägda biografföretaget Svensk Filmindustris (SF) potentiella uppköp av Schibstedägda SandrewMetronomes biografer.Som studenter i medie- och kommunikationsvetenskaps finner vi inte bara ett stort intresse i själva debatten kring SF Bios eventuella köp av SandrewMetronome utan också i vilka retoriska tekniker som journalisterna och debattörerna använts sig av. Vi kommer att svara på frågor som: Vad betonades under debatten och vilket verklighetsuppfattning syntes hos skribenterna?Vi har valt att begränsa oss till dagstidningar och debatterande artiklar, det vill säga krönikor, kåserier och kommentarer. Fokus har lagts på Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet och Sydsvenskan, där vi valt ut fem artiklar som vi sedan har analyserat kvalitativt. Till grund för analysen har vi använt oss av teorier kring mediekoncentration och agenda-setting.Inledningsvis har vi gjort en tematisk analys, där bland annat genre, resonemang och sakförhållanden är i fokus.

Aim: The purpose of this study is to explore how the media through a certain discourse constructs a view of the labor market and the power relations between companies, unions and employees. The goal is to explore this through studying the media coverage of SAS? financial situation between September-December 2012 and our research question is the following: What view of the labor market and its power relations was constructed and reproduced by Swedish newspapers through their portrayal of SAS during September-December 2012?Method: This study analyses the findings with the help of questions based on theories of social constructivism, discourse, agenda-setting and power. A content and discourse analysis was compiled of 360 articles from five Swedish newspapers that addressed SAS and their situation from September-December 2012. The results of these analyses were further processed using power analysis and John Gaventa?s power cube.Results: In this study we conclude that the medial discourse constructs identities of the different actors and affect power relations between them, in favor of the company.

Med nio år av grundskolan och nu tre år på lärarutbildningen i bagaget, har vi märkt en stor förändring bland grundskolans elever. Det språk som en gång kunde höras i de korridorer vi gick i som små, har förändrats. Ett nytt slags språk har tagit plats bland elever, ett språk som är mer tolerant mot svordomar och könsord. Så pass tolerant att eleverna själva inte reagerar när någon tilltalar de med några av dessa ord. Men hur ser situationen ut för de allra minsta eleverna? Använder de svordomar och i så fall, vilka? Använder de svordomar för att kränka andra elever, eller är det mest för att förstärka en känsla?Detta arbete syftar till att få en inblick i de yngre grundskoleelevernas språkbruk ur ett lärarperspektiv; vad anser lärarna vara ett acceptabelt språk och hur hanterar de svordomar bland sina elever.

The subject-matter of the following essay is to investigate the relationship between what is commonly called Deep Ecology or Biocentric Philosophy, as articulated by the co-founder of the Deep Ecology Movement, Arne Naess, and later proponents of the biocentric school of environmentalist thought. I contrast Naess? concept of Self-realization as founded in his Ecosophy T to the ideas of american conservationist and co-founder of the radical green movement Earth First! Dave Foreman, and to the controversial finnish environmentalist and ecofascist Pentti Linkola?s ideological agenda of population-reduction respectively.According to some critics of the movement, especially the social ecologist Murray Bookchin and French liberal philosopher Luc Ferry, the Deep Ecology ideology is essentially misanthropic and totalitarian in structure. A central idea among deep ecologists is that ecosystems and natural entities have intrinsic value in themselves, even outside a human social context. This idea is thought of among deep ecologists to create a philosophically sound basis for counteracting the environmental global crisis.

Denna uppsats reder ut vilken grund miljöundervisningen i grundskolans senare del har att stå på i form av formuleringar i internationella och nationella styrdokument. Har lärarna kännedom om dessa dokuments skrivningar om miljö? Uppsatsen ska också reda ut vilka aktörer i form av myn-digheter och miljöorganisationer som finns inom miljöundervisningen och om lärarna använder sig av dessa. Dessutom undersöks vad inom miljö som tas med i miljöundervisningen och hur väl detta stämmer överens med Agenda 21. Arbetet har utförts med en litteraturstudie och en enkätundersökning.

The research objective of this thesis was to conduct a holistic evaluation of an operational information system. By holistic evaluation we mean that an equal focus was placed on both the system system perspective and its users user perspective, in the actual environment where the system and its users function contextuality. In addition, the methodological objective of the study was to test a new research approach in a real life setting. The participants of the study were twenty newspaper journalists employed at Göteborgs-Posten GP. The information system NewsLink is a manually indexed full-text database containing all articles published in GP since 1994.

This study examines how the media reports on the Pride Festival in Stockholm and what news topics and themes it prioritizes. The purpose of this paper is to examine whether the media coverage of Pride highlights political questions related to social and societal problems. One of the main focuses of the study is on how the media covers male and female homosexuality. The newspapers examined are the tabloids Aftonbladet and Expressen and the respected dailies Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet. The study extends over three periods: 19-07-2010 to 07-08-2010, 25-07-2011 to 14-08-2011, and 24-07-2012 to 11-08-2012.Several key theories and themes frame the study.

We have chosen to focus on the meaning of long-term income support dependency regarding health, goal setting and motivation for the recipient of economical aid. We have chosen to use semi structurized interviews to achieve our goal of reaching the clients experience of long-term income support dependency. The study consists of interviews of six clients whose answers have been analyzed through appliance of Kielhofner´s Model of human occupation, Scheff´s Shame in self and society.   Our results show regarding, 1) the factor health that long-term income support dependency may elevate the risk of illness and less experienced options of possibilities to act. 2) regarding the factor goal setting, that goals may be inefficiently used during social work with long-term income support dependent clients and may result in a disorganized relationship between client and social worker in the sense of making the parties pull in opposite direction. 3) regarding the factor motivation, that long-term income support dependency and the living with the emotion of shame elevates the risk of maintaining a negative image of oneself that limits the willpower to assimilate new knowledge and/or skills.

This thesis investigates how recipient countries' domestic type of democracy affects its inclusive ownership in international development cooperation. This is done by examining Swedish development cooperation with Rwanda and Tanzania during the period from 2010 to 2014, a time when ownership - a concept which emphasizes recipient countries' leadership over its own development - was a central part of the international development agenda. The two cases were selected through a most similar case design where the value of potential explanatory variables was similar, except for the recipient countries' types of democracy. Furthermore, the case study uses a comparative analysis to analyze strategies and reports done by SIDA and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previous research focuses on the exclusion that national ownership can result in, in undemocratic national contexts. The main argument for this should be seen as the fact that ownership can not be representative if the power of the recipient's development agenda is limited to a decision-making elite.

Utbildningsradion (Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company) is a public service broadcaster with a mandate to produce and distribute educational programmes. 80% of Swedish teachers use its products either during lessons or for professional development. Utbildningsradion?s guidelines, set by the Swedish parliament and government, state that the company?s programmes should meet the interests of the country?s whole population, regardless of their background.The purpose of this study is to examine how Utbildningsradion?s products that are intended to be used in a classroom setting for ages 6 to 9 represent the variety of children that live in Sweden and thus reflect the aforementioned guidelines. The main focus of this research project was further defined to only include the company?s television programmes produced in Sweden between 2006 and 2011 that do not have social issues as the main subject.50 programmes were analyzed using quantitative content analysis and the following results were further interpreted using mainly Kydd?s and Snead?s models for discussing representation.

I denna uppsats har vi valt att undersöka om den landsortsbaserade dagstidningen Östgöta Correspondenten visar upp ett nazistiskt förhållningssätt åren 1933 och 1938 vad gäller rapportering och om det återfinns eventuella ställningstaganden i denna rapportering, samt om det förekommer en skillnad mellan dessa årtal. I uppsatsen har vi sökt svara på hur Östgöta Correspondentens rapportering om Nazityskland såg ut, vilka källor tidningen använde och hur källkritisk tidningen var till dessa. Vidare har vi sökt svara på hur eventuella nazistiska tendenser i Östgöta Correspondenten såg ut och hur de har utvecklats under undersökta årtal. Vi har även undersökt om tidningens tolkningsramar präglats av en nazistisk agenda samt hur självständig tidningen varit mot nazistisk propaganda. Vår teoretiska utgångspunkt har varit teorin om framing.

AbstractAttitudes towards the reference situation and the meetings between library users and librarians have become the subject of much debate in the library setting today. The aim of this two years master´s thesis has been to examine six librarian?s attitudes and apprehensions concerning the interactions between the librarian and the users in the library setting. We were also interested in knowing how a library can work to become more service oriented and customer centred. We conducted six interviews with librarians located at three different libraries in Sweden.

Background: Within palliative care setting persons with terminal illness is cared for. The aim of the care is to enhance the quality of life for the patient through a holistic approach. The disease can lead to major suffering and require the person to handle the situation. If the person´s ability and capacity to do so is insufficient the identity may be perceived as threatened and quality of life diminished. Self-care can help a person to cope with loss of identity, enhance independence and improve quality of life.Aim: The aim of this study is to explore self-care strategies of patients within palliative care setting.
