This project was led on behalf of Bombardier Transportation in Västerås, Sweden, incollaboration with KTH Stockholm and EPFL Lausanne. This project is connected to thedevelopment of a new and simplified tilt system for rail vehicles.Growing competition from other means of transportation has forced railway companiesthroughout the world to search for increased performances.Travelling time is the mostobvious performance indicator that may be improved by introducing high-speed trains.They require very large curve radii and long transitions curves not to impairridecomfort, another performance indicator. Building new tracks adapted to high speedtrains is very costly and can only be justified where the passenger base is large.Trains with the capability to tilt the carbodies inwards the curve is a more cost efficientalternative. The tilt inwards reduces thelateral force felt by the passengers allowing thetrain to pass curves at enhanced speed with maintained ride comfort but increases thefrequency ofmotion sickness.The benefits of tilting trains are improved speed capability in curves and enhancedpassengers comfort, but at higher buying and maintenance cost. As the conventionaltrains increase their speed in curves, the performance advantage of tilting trains isreduced while their prize is still kept significantly higher and constant.

Introduktion/bakgrund: Ridterapi har använts som behandlingsform sedan 1950- talet. Ridterapi är en medicinsk behandling med hjälp av hästar och dess rörelser som innefattar allt från att rida och umgås med hästen till att utföra stallsysslor. Det är även en träningsform som tränar patientens motoriska kontroll och balans. Förutom att vara en medicinsk behandling har ridterapi visat sig kunna vara effektivt för att öka patienters självkänsla, självförtroende och self- efficacy. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilka diagnoser som skulle kunna ha effekt av ridterapi samt att undersöka vilken evidens som finns för användandet av ridterapi inom det sjukgymnastiska verksamhetsområdet.

Syfte och frågeställningar 1. Finns det ett samband mellan tiden mellan fotisättningarna (främre respektive bakre fot) och sparkhastigheten? 2. Hur påverkar bakre fotens kontakttid sparkhastigheten? 3.

Uppdragsgivare var Camatec Industriteknik AB vars huvudkontor är stationerat i Karlstad. Projektet gick främst ut på att modulanpassa Camatecs patenterade haspelsystem CamCoil men det inkluderade även konstruktion av flertalet detaljer. Rapporten behandlar dimensionering av förband mellan axel och nav, konstruktion av ett passivt bromssystem, dimensionering av motor och lämpliga utväxlingar på drivlinan, beräkning av kritiskt varvtal för haspelsystemet, materialanalys av manteln, konstruktion för lateral rörelse samt konstruktion av en avskjutningsmekanism. Genom beräkningar och simuleringar har det säkerställts att vitala delar av behandlade konstruktioner är korrekt utformade och dimensionerade med avseende på hållfasthet, deformation och egenvinkelfrekvens.Modulanpassningen har gjorts löpande genom hela projektet och, i så stor mån det går, har standardkomponenter använts vid samtliga konstruktionslösningar. Förbandet mellan axel och nav består nu av ett kilförband vars dimensioner är standardiserade för hela modellprogrammet.

Bakgrund: En familj som lever med ett barn som har autismspektrumtillstånd påverkar dem och hela deras livssituation. Barnet behöver särskilt stöd av föräldrarna under hela deras levnadsår. Barn med autismspektrumtillstånd är personer som har individuella behov och dessa kan variera stort. Enligt tidigare studier som inkluderats i denna litteraturstudie framkom det att dessa individuella behov kan ha negativ påverkan på föräldrarna. Autismspektrumtillstånd är en neuropsykiatrisk funktionsnedsättning där personen har ett annorlunda sätt att ta in, bearbeta och tolka information.

The interaction between the driver, the car and the road is essential for the road safety. This case study focuses on the road condition and its effect regarding road safety issues. By studying and isolating the road condition aspect and its contributing role to the accident occurrence, the aim is to explore their relationship, as well as highlight the road parameters that are commonly associated with accident occurrence. This result will be used to develop and increase awareness of the impact of poor road alignment and poor road surface conditions on traffic safety, in order to prevent these accidents from occurring. The road parameters chosen for this study include side friction, cross slope and rut bottom cross slope, road texture, curvature, drainage gradient and rutting.The case study was limited to lv 360 in Va?sterbotten, where all accidents with an unclear cause of the accident were studied, between 2003 and 2012 were carefully studied and assessed based on the condition of the road at the time of the accident.

The competitive nature of the automotive industry has always implied a necessity to improve product development concerning time-to-market, cost and product quality. As capacity of computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools has evolved, so has the strive for simulation-driven design. Virtual durability testing using full vehicle models is one of many challenges posed in front of vehicle manufacturers when computer simulations are given a key role in product development.This thesis has been initiated as a preliminary step towards implementing dynamic virtual durability testing in the development of buses and coaches at Scania. The objective has been to assess the predictability of a full vehicle coach model and to what level of precision structural loads can be predicted. Previously performed proving ground testing of a Scania Touring coach has been the basis for the modelling and simulations in this thesis.A virtual model of the Scania Touring coach has been created in multi-body simulation software package MSC.Adams.

Syfte och frågeställningar:Syftet med studien var att undersöka om slingträning av nedre bålen för individer med löparknä kan ge en reducering av skadeproblematiken.Syftet var även att studera om upplevelsen av smärta och begränsning i aktivitet förändrats hos dessa individer i en subjektiv bedömning. Löparknä innebär smärta på den yttre sidan av knät, mest vanligt hos löpare men även andra idrottare drabbas.Frågeställningar:I vilken omfattning kan slingträning av nedre bålen för individer med löparknä ge en mer funktionell styrka och även större uthållighet?Hur upplever individer med löparknä vid en subjektiv skattning att denna träning leder till en förändring av smärta och begränsning i aktivitet?Metod:Studien genomfördes som en kvantitativ experimentell studie, där en interventionsgrupp på sex löpare med löparknäproblem genomförde slingträning av nedre bålen. Detta skedde två gånger i veckan under sex veckor. Tester av funktionell styrka och uthållighet genomfördes den första veckan, efter tre veckor och efter sex veckor.

Bakgrund: I dagsläget finns det relativt gott om studier om amyotrofisk lateralskleros (ALS) med en medicinsk utgångspunkt, som inriktar sig på att försöka finna en medicinsk behandling till sjukdomen, samt studier som belyser hur personer med ALS skattar sin livskvalitet. Dock finns färre studier som beskriver hur sjukdomen upplevs ur ett patientperspektiv. För att kunna bidra med stöd och hjälp till personer som drabbats av ALS behöver kunskapen hos olika vårdprofessioner och däribland sjuksköterskor utökas, både genom nya studier och genom syntetisering av tidigare genomförda studier inom området. Syfte: Studien syftar till att beskriva upplevelsen av att leva med ALS ur ett patientperspektiv. Metod: För att sammanställa och fördjupa tidigare kunskap om hur det är att leva med ALS gjordes en systematisk litteraturstudie över vårdvetenskapliga artiklar som innehöll tidigare forskning inom området.

Dressage schooling is not a subject that rests on science, it is a matter of dependable experience. So far there hasn?t been so much research about it, but more and more is done. Especially the interaction between rider and horse is a nearly uninvestigated field. Riding skills is much about having the right position, and having the horses head and neck in different positions, but there are no research done that support or deny that this old ?knowledge? is for the best for the horse. This study was performed to evaluate if the head and neck position of the horse, and the velocity, has any influence on the position of the rider.

Executive summary This master thesis was originally based on a specific assignment given to the authors from ABB Full Service, a unit specializing in providing maintenance outsourcing: ?How can ABB Full Service expand its offering of providing fundamental maintenance by seamlessly incorporating the business concept with competencies and solutions from other ABB divisions?? The academic issue was developed throughout the thesis, resulting in the following formulation: ?From an organizational perspective; how can service providers bring continuous added value to intra-organizational outsourcing partnerships?? Many of the key findings of this thesis are reflected in the issue. The term intra-organizational outsourcing is a proposed addition to the terminology in the academic discourse on outsourcing. The definition of the term is: ? Where an organization outsources a business process interlinked with the physical operations, requiring the service provider to take over a preexisting unit and its employees.This is an accurate description of the form of outsourcing that ABB Full Service is engaged in.

The different material layers as part of a road construction fill all a function so theroad becomes durable, safe, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Recently, anew group of construction materials started to play an important role in roadconstruction ? geosynthetics.This thesis addresses the two most common types ofgeosynthetics used in modern road construction, namely geogrids and geotextiles.The most common use of geogrids is reinforcement of poor subgrade by usinggeogrid soil reinforcement, which occurs when road material particles wedge inthe geogrid?s mesh. Geotextiles act partly as a barrier that prevents the finermaterial in the below ground from being mixed with coarser upper material andalso act as a load spreader.Road contractors often face a choice of whether geogrids and/or geotextiles areappropriate in a particular road project and also how much profit the choice mightbring.
