The purpose of this Master Thesis is to investigate the quality of the library service at the City Library of Uddevalla. In particular this thesis will examine the quality of the library service to people who are disabled. This applies particularly to the service to people with reduced ability to move or to see, which also includes people with infirmities due to old age. We also have investigated how well the library itself is adapted to the disabled. In order to get more information about the library service to people who are disabled, we have studied literature on this subject and the Master Thesis contains a summary of those documents.

Trots detta kvarstod institutionens ursprungliga behandlingsideologi - att fämja hälsa genom näringsriktig kost och utomhusaktiviteter, och att vara ett hemlikt barnhem.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att belysa hur den inledande undervisningen inom ämnet matematik kan se ut samt se orsaker till de sjunkande resultat inom ämnet matematik som visats genom undersökningar.Uppsatsen har sin utgångspunkt i det resultat som undersökningen TIMSS 2007 visat och följs därefter upp av intervjuer med två grundskolelärare, en specialpedagog samt en matematikutvecklare som berättar om den inledande matematikinlärningen. Därtill genomförs ett kunskapstest med elever i årskurs 4. Intervjuerna samt resultatet av kunskapstestet blev, efter sammanställning, jämförda mot tidigare forskning tagen. Relevant litteratur söktes fram från bibliotek samt från databaser på Internet med inriktning mot matematik.Resultatet visar att många lärare har läroboken som utgångspunkt för sin undervisning men att det konkreta materialet är ett viktigt komplement som gör eleverna delaktiga samt befäster matematiken i vardagen. Elevundersökningen visar att eleverna i årskurs 4 har svårigheter inom området taluppfattning och aritmetik..

Previous research indicates that the academic journal in many cases is the most valuable and important source of information in scientific work. The aim of this study is to investigate students usage of academic journals in comparison to their usage of other document types, as illustrated by the citations given in LIS students master theses 1999-2001. By comparing the students use of LIS journals with the use of LIS journals by international scholars we also wish to examine whether students and scholars use the same journals in their work. The international scholars are represented by references given in LIS journals 1999-2001, recorded by the citation index Journal Citation Reports. Questions: 1.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine public library and information technology IT discourses to see which relationships are established between them in four library journals. This is done in two steps, where first discourses are defined followed by an analysis of the relationships established between the public library and IT in each discourse. The questions from which the analysis emanates are as follows: What discourses exist around the public library and IT in the library journals? What conceptions of the tasks of the public library are constructed in the discourses? What conceptions of the tasks of IT are constructed in the discourses? What conceptions of the relationships between the public library and IT are constructed in the discourses? The theoretical and methodological starting-points are found in Ernesto Laclaus and Chantal Mouffes discourse theory. 37 articles from four library journals Biblioteksbladet, Bibliotek i Samhälle, DIK-forum and Ikoner - are analysed through a model in five phases.

Internets utveckling har banat väg för nya sätt att kommunicera. Inom den svenskavinindustrin har aktörer länge varit bundna till en icke interaktiv marknadsföring. Socialamedier och användarskapad information har blivit ett kraftfullt verktyg inom nämnda industrii takt med att konsumenter alltmer cyniskt genomskådar illa maskerad relationsretorik.Samtidigt har det svenska monopolet haft en mycket stor roll i hur kulturen ochkonsumtionsmönstren kring vininköp sett ut i Sverige. Men privata aktörer som direktkonkurrerar med Systembolaget har ställt detta i ny dager. Den största av dessa aktörer ärvinklubben Australian Wine Club.

Parallellt med populärmusikens förändring med avseende på hur den låter (jämför exempelvis The Beatles på 1960-talet med Avicii på 2010-talet), så har även utbudet av verktyg för att skapa den expanderat. Med intervjuer och observationer av vad yrkesverksamma musikproducenter gör året 2013 är syftet att utveckla beskrivningar av musikproducentroller som kan användas i musikproduktionsutbildning.

The aim of this study was to find out if hypertext structure has any relevance for the efficiency of information retrieval. An experiment, in which three variants of hypertext structure were compared, was carried out in the autumn of 1998. Three websites with different structures were constructed for this purpose: a sequential version, a hierarchical version and a webcluster version. 44 subjects, all students at the University of Lund, were randomly divided into three groups. Subjects were requiered to answer a number of questions using one of the three versions.

This bachelor thesis explores how librarian graduates perceive the transfer from university to employment. The authors will examine how librarian graduates experience the relation between knowledge learned from university studies and the qualifications required from the employer. The basis of the thesis is the concept of transition process. In this thesis it is defined as the relation between the knowledge gained from education and the qualifications required by the employer as well as the problem to transfer knowledge between different contexts.The theoretical framework is build upon the concept of competence and its connection to re-contextualized knowledge. The empirical material of the thesis constitutes of five phone interviews with newly employed librarians.

According to the health care law and the national care guarantee, all individuals with mental illness have the right to good health care that is knowledge based as well as to rehabilitation where and when they need it. They also should be able to choose and have control over who is performing the care, including the design of these efforts. The purpose of this study is to investigate patients' experiences of general psychiatric emergency care and the cooperation between outpatient care, inpatient care and the municipality. This study is a descriptive cross-sectional study, conducted with a quantitative and qualitative method. The study is performed in collaboration with Akademiska Sjukhuset and is part of a larger quality improvement project.

The municipality of Falkenberg is a result of a unification of several smaller municipalities in 1971, each one with a small library. This left Falkenberg with an unusual large amount of smaller branch libraries. The object of this thesis is to describe and try to understand the political conflicts that have erupted during the period 1971-1994. Through a case study containing press clippings from the local newspaper, different reports, political meeting protocols, a historical background of the library and a study of library specific norms and regulations I can create an image of the heated debate. The participants in this debate can be divided into politicians and civil servants and the conflict circles round the fact that from an economical perspective, there is not enough budget to keep all the small, local libraries.

Uppsatsen beskriver arbetet och undersökning för hur deduplicering i filsystemet ZFS påverkar effektförbrukningen. En större mängd redundant data förekommer i centraliserade lagringssystem som förser virtualiserade servrar med lagringsutrymme. Deduplicering kan för den typen av lagringsmiljö eliminera redundant data och ger en stor besparing av lagringsutrymme. Frågan som undersökningen avsåg att besvara var hur ett lagringssystem påverkas av det extra arbete som det innebär att deduplicera data i realtid.Metoden för att undersöka problemet var att utföra fem experiment med olika typer av scenarion. Varje scenario innebar att filer kopierades till ett lagringssystem med eller utan deduplicering för att senare kunna analysera skillnaden.

During the late twentieth century, political and societal changes gave rise to an increased interest in performance evaluation in public organizations. This development also affected libraries in the public sector. The main concern for this master thesis is performance measurement in libraries. In this study two different types of libraries are investigated, one public and the other academic. My aim is to find out if and how performance measurement appears in the libraries annual activity reports.

Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur vanligt det är med stress och depression efter genomgången hjärtinfarkt. Vidare planeras att undersöka samband mellan stress och depression samt också eventuella skillnader mellan könen för hur stress och depression upplevs efter genomgången hjärtinfarkt.Metod: Patienter som varit inlagda för hjärtinfarkt vid Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala inkluderas i studien. Patienterna skall ha genomgått hjärtinfarkt och/eller PCI och/eller CABG. De tre enkäterna Vardagslivets stress, Känsloläge samt MADRS användes. Frekvenser och korrelationer beräknades med IBM SPSS Statistics version 19.
