The purpose of this essay is to examine what can be considered as obscene in the work of JoelPeter Witkin and Marc Quinn, what the similarities and differences are. The essay concerns thehuman body, the norms around it and the old vision of the ideal body. To get closer to myquestion I’ve been examine the meaning of anti-ideal, what it means and what kind of history ithas. The works I’ve been using to reach to my purpose are Marc Quinn’s sculpture Alison Lapper(2005) and Joel Peter Witkin’s photography Abundance (1997). Both of the works are taking theposition that use to belong to the classical beauty.

Through wing pattern, posture and movement, a harmless moth of the family Brenthia imitates an eight-eyed jumping spider. When an octopus of the species Thaumoctopus mimicus sense danger it can alter its appearance to that of a venomous sea snake. They are both drawing attention to themselves. Nevertheless, and because of this, they are protected. The mechanism is called mimicry.

This essay aims to report on the process of our documentation of art objects in the care of Smålands nation in Uppsala as a part of our education in museology and cultural heritage studies. The nation has a long history and our documentation shows many valuable objects reflecting this. The care of these objects is substandard and in great need of change. Our work process has involved photography and research about each object, the information has then been registered in our catalogue. The documentation has, besides the catalogue, generated a plan for future management and storage of the collection.

Lightning Field in NewMexico, by Walter De Maria, Sun Tunnels inUtah, by Nancy Holt and the Spiral Jetty,also in Utah, by Robert Smithson.The sites where visited from half a day upto 24 hours and was described and analyzedwith text and photographs.To visit these sites has been crucial formy thesis and will affect my future workas a landscape architect. The use of themethod has been a thought of mine for along time, particularly to analyze ordescribe a landscape with images.

This essay tries to show how The Swedish Museum of Architecture, Stockholm, with the exibition Architecture in Sweden - Function, Design and Aesthetic through the Ages, presents and represents architecture. It is stated that this is done in a multi-perspectival, multimedial fashion, with the aid of, for example, photography, models and mixed material surrounding the wide concept of ?architecture?. One chapter discusses the relationships between the exhibition on site, the exhibition catalog and the museum´s website. Another chapter argues that there can be no essential or perfect representation of architecture, although this utopian wish most certainly exists even today.

Bakgrund: Som en följd av organisationernas förändrade behov och krav på mer flexibla lösningar har det blivit allt viktigare för företagen att på ett smidigt sätt hantera förändringar. Mentorskapsprogram är ett förfarande som allt mer har kommit att användas inom företag för att åstadkomma utveckling och engagemang för förändring. Syfte: Syftet är att med hjälp av en retrospektiv studie redogöra för hur ett mentorskapsprogram påverkar individen och i förlängningen även organisationen. Genomförande: För att få reda på vilken påverkansgrad ett mentorskapsprogram har på dess deltagare har vi intervjuat personer som deltog i Saab Aerospace första mentorskapsprogram 1992-1993. Resultat: Våra resultat tyder på att de individer som genomgår ett mentorskapsprogram stegvis förändrar sin syn på den företeelse som mentorskapsprogrammet riktar sig mot, genom att individernas uppfattningar, värderingar och handlingar förändras.

In my exam-project, ?For Götha Kendo Club ? an athletic clubs new graphical profile? at HDK ( School of Design and Crafts ) i chose to redesign the visual identity of Götha Kendo Club, a kendo-club in Gothenburg. Kendo is a japanese fencing sport, where swords of bamboo are used, together with protective armor.My work consists of a new logotype for Götha Kendo Club; three different posters for recruiting beginners; a website layout, presented with a pdf-file; and a beginners folder, with an introduction to kendo.The aim was, not only to give Götha Kendo Club a new fresh look, but also to attract a target group to the sport, namely people who are interested in competition, exercise and athletics.To achieve this I created a though look where tension and focus was the lead; using only three colours, red, white and black, and with progressive typography set in with the modernistic HouseGothic typeface I created this fresh and exciting look. The photography by Ida Nordung where shoot with white backdrop, creating a hard contrast to the dark clothed kendo models.Finally I collected rules and guidelines for the graphical and visual elements of Götha Kendo Club new style in a graphical guide..

Denna rapport är resultatet av mitt examensarbete som utfördes på uppdrag av GKN. Syftet med arbetet är att utvärdera manualverken som berör RM12-motorn och i en teknisk rapport beskriva hur manualerna upplevs av den tekniska personalen på Sveriges flygflottiljer. Efterlevs de givna instruktionerna som avsett eller krävs det uppdateringar och/eller förtydligande av manualverken? Arbetet är främst inriktat mot de manualer som berör efterbrännkammarmodulen.Arbetet omfattar studier på flygflottiljerna F7 samt F17. Utvärderingens undersökningsarbete utfördes i form av enkätundersökningar, Semistrukturerade intervjuer/samtal samt observationer av det dagliga arbetet.Det är av stor vikt att teknisk personal följer motormanualerna som avsett, att inspektioner utförs enligt föreskrifterna samt att de angivna skadetoleranserna tas på allvar.

Dagens teknik erbjuder en mängd olika sätt för människor att kommunicera och interagera med varandra. Denna uppsats är en studie i bilddelning på sociala medier med fokus på amatörfotografers användande av tekniken i syfte för att nå ut med sina fotografier. Huvudfokus lades på vad för strategier de använde sig av, men även på användarnas olika målsättningar. Med hjälp av tidigare forskningsarbeten och djupgående intervjuer har vi lyckats återkoppla den egna empirin med våra teoretiska utgångspunkter och dragit slutsatsen att användandet av sociala medier i syftet för att nå ut med sina bilder till andra människor varierar väldigt stort från person till person. Hur tekniken används för detta syfte är därmed unikt för den individuelle användaren, dock har vi lyckats identifiera vissa likheter i användandet av sociala medier i dessa syften. .

The purpose of this essay is to investigate the working conditions of professional photographers at the start of the 20th century. The aim of this essay is to provide a glimpse into this specific time-period with the main question: How were the working conditions for professional photographers? More specifically, this essay will provide a detailed picture that focuses on the difficulties women encountered, when attempting to make photography a legitimate professional career and combined with the traditions as wife and woman.The essay is divided into three main parts. By looking at statistical databases such as Swedish National Archive?s and other recourses, the first part establishes what Swedish society was like after the reforms that had taken place by the end of the 19th Century.

Previous research in the field of consumer marketing has confirmed the positive effects of divergence on advertising efficiency. Despite the coherent evidence, some industries lag in the adoption of these findings, one of which is the Swedish real estate market. Divergence has not been elaborately investigated within said context and this paper addresses the need of actionable insights for housing advertising. Starting with the proven success of housing firm Fantastic Frank who work with detail photos in contrast to the common wide angle, this paper examines theoretical implications of detail photos' characteristics. Besides being divergent, detail photos are also ambiguous which renders access to effects related to visual perception.

Genom vår forskning ville vi ta reda på om, och i så fall hur den pågående deprofessionaliseringen av bildjournalistiken kan ha någon påverkan på den tekniska kvaliteten på bilderna som publiceras i Skånska Dagbladet och Sydsvenska Dagbladet Snällposten. Forskningen grundar sig i Gunnar Nygrens (2008b) teorier om professionalisering och deprofessionalisering. För att kunna få svar på våra frågeställningar genomfördes en metodutveckling ta fram ett systematiskt tillvägagångssätt som vi kunde använda för att dels analysera upphovsmakare och storlek på bilderna, men också kategorisera den tekniska kvaliteten på bilderna utifrån exponering, vitbalans och skärpa. Detta kompletterades med intervjuer med beslutsfattare på de båda tidningarna.I den kvantitativa undersökningen visade det sig att Skånska Dagbladets bilder till en högre grad var avvikande på någon eller flera av de punkter som undersöktes för att fastställa kvaliteten på bilderna. Den tekniska kvaliteten var också något som diskuterades i våra intervjuer.

GKN Aerospace Sweden (GAS) utvecklar och tillverkar motorkomponenter för både den civila och militära flyg-och rymdindustrin. En av produkterna som GKN tillverkar är en outlet guide vane(OGV), vars funktion är att omdirigera det axiella luftflödet från fläkten. OGVn är den mekaniska länken mellan kärnstrukturen och fläkthuset. Ett viktigt mål är att minska vikten på motorn samtidigt som dess diameter ökar när motorerna blivit allt större.For att lösa detta krävs ett material med hög hållfasthet i förhallande till vikten. Ett examensarbete som föregår detta har utvecklat ett koncept som innefattar en OGV i en viss GKN-utvecklad tekonologi.

Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att ta fram ett förslag på utformning av en målgruppsanpassad hjälpfunktion för PDM-systemet på Bombardier Transportation i Västerås. Företaget Bombardier tillverkar flyg (Aerospace) och tåg (Transportation) och huvudkontoret för Transportation i Sverige ligger i Västerås. I företaget används ett PDM-system (Product Data Management) för administrering och distribuering av data och processer kring design, tillverkning, hantering och återvinning av produkter. Information om PDM-systemets funktionalitet finns tillgänglig genom flera olika källor som både är officiella och inofficiella inom företaget. Dessa källor finns både i tryckt och i digital form. Bombardier Transportation i Västerås har efterfrågat ett förslag på en gemensam hjälpfunktion som ersätter befintliga, och istället sammanför nuvarande information till en enhetlig och lättanvänd hjälpfunktion. Hjälpfunktionen har utvecklats i form av en digital manual placerad i anslutning till PDM-systemet och innehåller information som läses på skärm. Informationen om PDM-systemets funktionalitet och användning förklaras för nya och befintliga användare.
