In this paper I study how the repeal of the Swedish wealth tax (1 of January 2007) has affected people´s labour supply behaviour. This particular issue is relevant because it may help us understand some of the effects of the earnings tax changes that have taken place in Sweden. Accoring to standard economic theory a repealed wealth tax is similar to an income effect for the persons who previously paid the tax. That means that they theoretically will want to consume more leisure, that is decrease their labour supply. The method I am using to test this hypothesis is a difference-in-difference approach where the treatment group consists of persons who previously paid the tax and the control group of comparable persons who did not pay the tax.

Many children are being abused by daily basis. Mostely they are abused by a parent or another person that is close to the child. Mostely the child abuse never is reported to the social services or to the police, and even if the perpertrator is known, only a few cases are brought to prosecution. If a case allthough is drawn before the court of law, there are still too many of the perpetrators that are being acquitted. In other words, the legal security for the abused children is way too low.When suspiscions arise that a child is exposed to child abuse there are several inquiries that starts at the same time.

Sexualitetens och den sexuella hälsans betydelse för människans välbefinnande är väl dokumenterad. Emellertid visar forskning att kvinnor med cancerdiagnos inte får den hjälp de önskar av sjukvården gällande sexuell hälsa. Detta faktum accentuerar behovet av att förstå vilka mekanismer som ligger bakom. Studiens syfte var att identifiera hinder och förutsättningar för samtal om sexuell hälsa mellan sjuksköterskor och kvinnor med cancerdiagnos. Studien utformades som en litteraturöversikt med kvalitativa studier.

Denna uppsats är en studie av bisexuella kvinnors erfarenheter av att bedriva politik i vardagslivet och på mer kollektivt organiserad nivå. Vi har undersökt hur respondenterna uppfattar det egna politiska handlingsutrymmet och hur de ser på möjligheterna att i en olikkönad relation bedriva sexualpolitik. Syftet har varit att undersöka hur kvinnorna går tillväga för att hävda ett politiskt engagemang i olika kontexter. Sju öppna samtalsintervjuer och en mailintervju har genomförts med kvinnor som har bisexuella praktiker eller begär och/eller identifierar sig som bisexuella. Vi har undersökt kring vad de formar en politisk identitet samt hur de använder handlingsstrategier som uttryck för en kritisk, politisk position.

The process of gift-giving is something that occurs all around the world, and most people are both givers and receivers of gifts. While receiving a gift is often associated with joyous feelings, purchasing and giving a gift may not generate the same feelings. The worries of giving a gift may include anguish of finding the right gift for the right person, and not to mention it shall be appropriate given the situation. This paper aims to describe consumer attitudes in various gift-giving occasions. An employee that informs on illegal or unethical behavior in the workplace is what has been called a whistleblower. Employees that have become whistleblowers have often faced tragic consequences, like threats from the organization, unemployment, bankruptcy and divorce. The purpose of this paper is, on the basis of different ethical perspectives to describe the justification of the whistleblowing phenomenon and apply this to the Swedish whistleblower Ingvar Bratt who ?blew the whistle? when he found out that Bofors AB, the company he worked for, were smuggling arms to the countries Dubai and Bahrein. The method that has been used in this paper is what Björn Badersten call a normative ?givet att?- analysis.

This study describes how verbal abuse is used in schools and how it affects students. As a  result of the study is a questionnaire which was distributed to 153 students at two schools in a small town in southern Sweden. Students who participated in the study were in grades 3-6 and were between 9 and 13 years old. I asked students 13 questions, which dealt with verbal abuse, some of them were check questions and some were issues that required a longer response.The results of the survey show that 108 students of 153 have ever felt verbally abused at school, slightly more girls than boys. Usually they say they have been verbally abused by their own sex and then with words like boys are more frequently offended by words of a sexual nature, whereas girls more often are offended by words that violate their appearance.The students who feel aggrieved are shown to be those students who violate others.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka de attityder som svenska och finländska konsumenter har beträffande ursprungslandsinformation, i synnerhet bilden av PIIGS-länderna. Teorierna i uppsatsen utgår ifrån Country of origin och dess effekter samt från tidigare forskning.Uppsatsen har en kvantitativ ansats där en enkätundersökning och statistiska beräkningar utförts. Slutsatserna i denna uppsats är att de svenska och finländska konsumenterna generellt inte tar hänsyn till ursprungslandsinformation. De påvisar även negativa attityder gentemotPIIGS-länderna gällande tillförlitlighet och produktkvalité i jämförelse med deras hemländer..

Föreliggande studie har för avsikt att ta reda på hur samarbetet mellan de inblandade instanserna ser ut, vid brott gällande sexuellt utnyttjande av barn under femton år. Studien fokuserar på rättsprocessen och informanternas upplevelser i samband med samarbetet mellan myndigheter, resurser och barnkonventionen. Samarbetet analyseras med hjälp av Max Webers sociala handlingar, aktör och struktur, makt och maktresurs, institutionalisering, kyrkan och kristendomen som institution och nya testamentet.Frågeställningen är: Hur upplever intervjupersonerna utredningsprocessen? Hur upplever intervjupersonerna samarbetet mellan de inblandade instanserna? Vilka svårigheter identifieras utav respondenterna i processen? Hur beskrivs arbetet med barnkonventionen utifrån respektive intervjuperson? Hur anser intervjupersonerna att sexuella övergrepp mot barn prioriteras i samhället?En av slutsatserna är att samarbetet mellan instanserna inte är till belåtenhet och att samarbetet påverkas av vad respektive myndighet har för handlingsförmåga. Handlingsförmågan möjliggörs av organisationens handlingsstruktur som också är den som sätter ramarna utifrån de ekonomiska resurserna som finns att tillgå för arbetet..

Embedded Systems Lab at Umeå University is currently part of a research project with the purpose to examine the behavior of dairy cows inside a barn. Each cow needs to be tracked with a precision of 50 cm, and since GPS-technique has poor functionality at indoor environments, an indoor positioning system needs to be developed.Embedded Systems Lab has already developed an indoor positioning system using IR-light and radio, but since this system demands extensive infrastructure and is rather expensive, an alternate positioning system using ultrasonic pulses and radio is being examined.In this report the range, beam angle and current consumption of ultrasonic transmitters- and receivers are investigated. Three different driver stages for the transmitter is tested, and two amplifier solutions for the receiver. The report also describes how the length of the transmitted ultrasonic pulse affects the received signal, accessibility of a ?shadowed? signal, and the effect of different sound frequency..

The aim of this study is to examine how three generations of immigrant women from a culture of honor is influenced over time by the majority culture and its values together with how these women affect each other mutually both consciously and unconsciously within the family. The study is based on two questions: What does"honor" mean to the three generations of women who are Muslim and Kurdish? Did these three generations of women?s idea of honor change over time as they have lived in Sweden? Results of this study have shown that the concept of honor has its focus on the woman's body, sexuality and chastity.

The goal of this qualitative essay is to approach the knowledge of people who commit crimes. From a development psychology point of view, questions relating to childhood ang growth are some of the important subjects we choose to discuss. Our purpose is also to reveal the linkage between criminal behavior and different theories of the above mentioned perspective. To bridge the gap between the general and the individual, our survey was based on profound interviews with four inmates in prison. This offer an opportunity to capture the individual´s inner thoughts, feelings and experience about the criminal action.

The aim has been to facilitate the search for importantsmall objects that people never seem to find when they need them the most.The aim has also been to provide a sense of relief when people enter theirhome, and they can empty their pockets on one spot in a very simple yet orderlymanner. The product would be able to sort out, and make the gadgetsaccessible, take as little space as possible, be easy to use and not be perceivedas heavy and clumsy. The work has been done with close involvement of afocus group consisting of 20 people of different ages and with different occupations.The behavior of the focus group has been observed and test modelshave played a crucial role in advancing the work troughout the project. I dag lider ca 25-35 % av skolungdomar av psykisk ohälsa. Tidigare forskning har visat att denna ohälsa beror på att ungdomar sover alltför lite, vilket i sin tur associerats till en ökad användning av sociala media. Orsakssambanden är emellertid oklara och varierar mellan studier. Av den anledningen genomfördes en enkätstudie på gymnasielever, för att ytterligare belysa hur sambanden ser hos svenska ungdomar.I undersökningen användes två frågeformulär bestående av en reducerad version av KASAM, ett sömnformulär, samt frågor angående sociala media.I studien deltog 51 elever (M: 18.0 år, SD 0.35), varav 22 kvinnliga och 28 manliga elever i ÅK 3. Resultatet visade att cirka hälften av eleverna (49 %) ansåg sig sova signifikant kortare tid än vad de önskade (p<0.0001).
