Bakgrund: Vårdpersonalen på en akutmottagning vårdar ett stort antal patienter under en kort och ofta intensiv period. Arbetet på akutmottagningen ställer höga krav på vårdpersonalen, vilket kan leda till att kraven blir allt för höga i vissa situationer. Vårdandet av patienter kan därför bli lidande vilket resulterar i att patienter utsätt för vårdlidande. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att undersöka patienters erfarenheter av att ha vårdats på en akutmottagning. Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på elva vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades.

Background: With increasing age follows higher risks of conditions and illnesses which can cause a decrease in health and wellbeing. A meaningful social environment can positively impact the physical health of older people. Dogs are increasingly being used for different purposes within health care and animal assisted therapy aims to improve people?s physical, social, emotional and cognitive function.Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of animal assisted therapy on older people?s health and wellbeing.Methods: A literature review where searches for academic articles in databases PubMed, Cinahl and PsychInfo were performed. The searches resulted in 14 articles which were selected for further review.

AbstractAim: The aim of the study is to analyze ten different columns written by Linda Skugge, in order to see what kind of rhetorical means she uses to get her message across. It is also to examine if, and to what extent, these means are of female nature, and to see what kind of persona Skugge uses in order to be trustworthy.Method: Rhetorical analysis of ten columns written by Linda SkuggeMain results: The study has shown that Skugge´s rhetorical strategies differ from the ones recommended in theories about female speech. Skugge writes with a lot of character and emotionally based arguments, which, according to the theories, is more of a male way of speaking. This is a two year master's thesis in the field of museum and cultural heritage studies. The purpose of the thesis is to examine different opinions among museum employees about the role of museums. The thesis also aims to find out to what extent and in what way these opinions are influenced by the museum's own policy documents, the national cultural policy and the academic field of museum studies. I have conducted qualitative research interviews with six employees from three different cultural history museums. The theoretical framework of the thesis is based on Laruajane Smith's term authorized heritage discourse.

This essay is part of a project between Södertörn University College and Stockholm Academic Forum. The focus of the project is gender equality in small- and medium sized companies. I have worked with a construction company called Activa . The majority of the employees at the company were male and I was interested in the consequences of gender construction in such an environment. I think that the basic condition for equality work is an understanding of gender and the male norm.

Arbetsplatsen är en miljö där människor spenderar en stor del av sin dag och är därför en betydande arena för hälsofrämjande arbete. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva faktorer i den psykosociala arbetsmiljön som påverkar anställdas psykiska hälsa. Metod: Metoden som användes i föreliggande studie var litteraturstudie. Databassökningen gjordes i databaserna PsycInfo och Academic Search Elite. Resultatet innefattar 8 vetenskapliga artiklar.

This master thesis has been carried out at Scania R&D at the department of Powertrain Control System Development during the winter 2011/2012. The purpose of the thesis was to produce a method that with the result of troubles codes from the field testing would be able to say something about the maturation of a component, in this case the VGT, variable geometry turbocharger. To start with, it was necessary to investigate hich information was available. After the information been summed up in tables and charts, this so that it was possible to understand the huge amount of data, the calculations started.Since the thesis was about maturation of a component the proportions were calculated of components that had a trouble code in contrast of those who passed the test without a trouble code. This Thesis includes background information about basic of statistics and about the company Scania and its testing process.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how the research library of Linnæus University is used by students as a meeting place. Building upon Putnam's theory of bonding and bridging social capital and Audunson's conception of high and low intensive meeting places, it aims to explore the research library's potential for creating social capital and thus strengthening both learning and democracy in a university context. Borrowing part of the survey design from a study conducted as part of the Norwegian PLACE project, this study collects responses from 134 students as to their use of the library as a meeting place. The results show that the Linnæus University library is used for a variety of meetings of both high and low intensity, why it should provide a good setting for the creation of social capital. There seems to be a connection between how often one visits the library, as well as to which department one belongs, and how one uses the library as a meeting place.

Övervikt och fetma är ett ökande problem runtom i samhället, något som visat sig genom ökade kostnader för överviktsrelaterade sjukdomar och sjukskrivingar. Syftet med studien var att genom en litteraturstudie undersöka hur en arbetsplats miljö skall vara för att främja de anställdas hälsa avseende övervikt, fetma, motion och kost. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie och datainsamling gjordes genom sökning av vetenskapliga artiklar på databaserna Academic Search Elite samt Highwire Press. Resultat som framkom var att arbetsplatser har goda förutsättningar för att främja den fysiska hälsan för sina anställda. Interventioner som har gjorts har fått goda genomslag och förbättrat både den fysiska aktiviteten samt förbättrat kosthållningen hos sina anställda.

A study has been conducted on how organizations in Sweden administer costs of facilities management services internally. There are three main theoretical methods for administering costs. In the first method, costs are maintained on a central level; in the second method, costs are allocated and in the third method, internal transfer pricing is used. The aim of the study is to identify which methods are applied in practice, to evaluate whether the methods fulfill their intended purposes and to study the relationship between the methods used and the cost level of facilites management services. In practice, a large diversity of methods are used for facilities management costs.

This thesis is about university spin-offs and the competition in high technology industries. In the light of efforts to increase the competitiveness of the European Union, an effective transfer of cutting edge technology from universities to the industry plays an important role. University spin-offs, start-ups founded to exploit academic inventions, are likely to face considerable market entry barriers. This is among other reasons due to high capital requirements for further technology development and lack of complementary resources. With a combination of relevant literature and empirical investigation, commercialisation of technologies within spin-offs is investigated and analysed.

SammanfattningSyftetmed denna studie var att beskriva hur strokepatienter upplever sin livskvalitet utifrån ett fysiskt, psykiskt och socialt perspektiv. Metoden för denna litteraturstudie med beskrivande design var att ta fram artiklar genom sökning i databaserna Academic Search Elite, Cinahl, Pubmed. Femton artiklar som uppfyllde inklusionskriterierna hittades och användes i föreliggande studie. Resultatet visar att livskvaliteten kan påverkas negativt efter en stroke och kan leda till att patienten förlorar en del av sin identitet. Stroke kan förändra patienternas liv och tvinga dem att anpassa sig till sin nya situation, en situation där smärta och olika typer av funktionsnedsättningar och kommunikationssvårigheter kan vara en del av vardagen.

The term ?vulnerable areas? is developed by the Swedish police, referring to various areas in Sweden that are classified as socioeconomically disadvantaged, and with an active criminal presence. Over time, this term has gained significant popularity and is now used not only by the police but also by other entities such as the media, where these areas are often depicted as urban outcasts. Therefore, this study focuses on the portrayal of ?vulnerable areas? in the Swedish news media, where the topic has been widely debated in recent years.

This thesis has the purpose that through a text analysis examine how four schoolbooks for high school treats the religions Judaism and Hinduism. The schoolbooks are from the years 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2009. The perspectives are from a religious viewing point, that means that the women are religious, Jewish feminists and Hindu feminists. The theories used are written by these women and are academic litterature.  The questions are how are women represented in the schoolbooks, is the feminist critique present or are the two religions represented and described in an invariable way, and is the description of Judaism and Hinduism consistent with the curriculum?The text analysis used in this examination means that reality is organized through and by the language used by the actors in that reality.

Syftet med studien var att ur ett lärarperspektiv beskriva självkänslans betydelse för elevers lärande samt lärarens roll i detta. Utifrån litteraturen såg vi att det finns ett klart samband mellan elevers självkänsla och deras skolprestationer, forskningen säger dock olika i frågan om det är hög självkänsla som leder till goda studieresultat, eller vice versa. Litteraturen visade även att elever ofta utvecklar olika försvarsstrategier för att skydda sin självkänsla. Det som kanske påverkar självkänslan mest är det sociala samspelet tillsammans med andra människor, exempelvis föräldrar, lärare och vänner. Tre kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes med tre lärare på olika skolor som alla jobbar mot grundskolans tidigare år.
