Library anxiety: en undersökning av psykologiska aspekter kring studenters upplevelser av sitt universitetsbibliotek
This essay investigates the psychological aspects in students' experiences of their university library and the information seeking process. Focus of the investigation is library anxiety, a kind of fear towards the university library with cognitive, affective and behavioural aspects. Twenty students at Uppsala university, who was about to conclude or recently have concluded an academic essay, were interviewed about their experiences of the university library, Carolina Rediviva. Five respondents stated experiences of fear, anxiety and apprehension in the library and it is on these informants that the greater part of the analysis and discussion draws. The essay suggests a model of library anxiety where outer environmental aspects of the library, such as the library environment, roles and routines of the library and library staff, interacts with inner personal aspects of the individual such as personal experiences, intellectual capacity and sensitivity to stress and anxiety.
Julia och eliterna : En studie av hur näthatsdebatten utvecklades till en medial lavin
English title: Julia and the elite. A study of how the Internet hatred developed into a media avalanche.Introduction: During February 2013 Swedish media flooded with news of online hate directed towards women after an episode of Uppdrag Granskning on SVT (2013). Female media profiles were given the opportunity to tell the entire Swedish population about the hate and threats they had been exposed to online. In this thesis we want to investigate what topics end up on the media´s agenda, how a piece of news is developed and framed.Questions: How does a piece of news considered highly newsworthy develop from when it first appears in the media until it gradually disappears? How and why did Internet hatred end up on the media´s agenda? How does the media framed the Internet hatred?Theory: To be able to answer the questions formulated in this thesis, the following theories have been used: Agenda-Setting theory, framing theory, news valuation and media logic. Method: Quantitative content analysis of news broadcasts and debate shows from TV, radio and newspapers.

The study of culture is specifically relevant to libraries confronting changes. A variety of conditions makes it beneficial for libraries to understand the strengths as well as the weaknesses of the underlying culture. Such an understanding can help libraries in adjusting to changes easier, without losing the cultural values that they hold important to their identity and strategic strengths.Taking this as a starting point the purpose of this essay is to examine and describe what aspects in prevailing library cultures are important to pay attention to when meeting changes. To accomplish this we will explore the concept of library culture, its substance, meaning and expression.Culture is reflected in the artifacts, values and underlying assumptions of formal and informal groups. This degree project concludes the Innovation and Design Engineering programme at Karlstad University. The project was carried out by David Brocker, Erik Hallberg and Andreas Hertzman during the spring of 2006 and corresponded to 15 weeks of work per student. Assigner was Martin Larsson at Arexor and instructor at Karlstad University was Monica Jakobsson.Arexor has a patent to a construction of an electrical skirting board with moveable wall sockets, called Electrical Track System. The lowest parts of the interior walls along the floor are today almost always covered by a conventional skirting board. Arexors patented product replaces that with the possibility to move and increase the number of wall sockets by choice along an electrical skirting board.

This degree project summarizes five years of education at the landscape architecture program at the Swedish University of Agriculture Sciences, SLU, Alnarp and the School of architecture at Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, Stockholm. The project has been carried out by Lovisa
Berg and Per Crona in collaboration with DRIFT Scenkonst. This master project is based on the ongoing transformation of a former mining site in Ställberg, Bergslagen situated in central Sweden.
The organization DRIFT is in the process of recreating to former industrial mining site as a green cultural center. Their field of artistic examination concerns existential questions connected to the site. The aim is to offer a place for both performing and experiencing contemporary performing arts in Bergslagen.
Our objective is to contribute to the growth of the performing arts project and to demonstrate in concrete terms how a conversion of a mining area can be completed, while taking into account both its history and its new function.
Recensionernas retorik : Om könsroller i kulturjournalistiken
At the centre of this study lies the question if normative gender thinking affects the way poetry gets reviewed and how the reviews are written, this in relation to both the gender of the reviewer and the poet. The study crosses three academic fields; gender studies, poetry and journalism, and is based on the cultural studies theory of media affecting and even creating the world around it.The study is based on two types of analysis. One quantitative analysis based on the thematic criticism theory about detail studies that shows bigger patterns, this analysis focuses on how the poet and his/hers work are being treated in the reviews in areas such as how much space they´re given in the newspapers, how they are named by the reviewer and the tendency to quote the reviewed work. And one qualitative analysis based on the new criticism method of close reading, that focuses on the reviewers way of writing and how that may be connected with theories of gender differences, this both connected to the gender of the reviewers and the poets.The material chosen for this study are all the reviews that were published in the same newspapers and that reviewed two specific poetry works by two specific poets chosen with great sensibility to age and career so that their difference in gender would be the most significant difference between them. The works were chosen based on year of publishing, they were supposed to be published as newly as possible and as close to each other in time as possible.

många av de anställda på Migrationsverket var missnöjda med verkets
ledning. Migrationsverket har även fått en stor del negativ kritik i media
under de senaste åren. Detta har väckt ett intresse för vilka faktorer som
kan påverka anställdas förtroende för ledningen inom organisationer och
vilken betydelse detta förtroende egentligen har. Syftet med studien var
att göra en översikt över, samt en analys av, befintliga
förklaringsmodeller för vad som kan ligga till grund för en arbetsgrupps
inställning till ledningen inom en organisation. Syftet var vidare att
sammanställa och analysera befintliga förklaringsmodeller över vilken
betydelse arbetsgruppens inställning till ledningen kan ha för de anställda
samt organisationen.

Employer Branding : Konsten att attrahera och behålla personal i kunskapsintensiva tjänsteföretag - En studie av svenska storbanker
Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva och analysera hur kunskapsintensiva tjänsteföretag inom banksektorn kan attrahera nya medarbetare och behålla befintlig personal med hjälp av Employer Branding.Studien baseras på kvalitativ metodik, bestående av djupgående intervjuer med tre svenska storbanker; Handelsbanken, Swedbank och Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB). För att få en mer specialiserad kunskap om fenomenet Employer Branding har även Academic Communication intervjuats, som är ett marknadsföringsföretag inriktad på denna form av marknadsföring.Ett gediget informationsunderlag gällande den externa och interna målgruppens uppfattning av företagens Employer Brand är centralt för att utarbeta adekvata Employer Branding-strategier. Under arbetets gång är det betydelsefullt att kontinuerligt undersöka om associationerna som företagen vill sammankoppla till dess varumärke som arbetsgivare, förmedlas, och att anpassa strategierna utefter det. Employer Branding genomförs externt främst genom deltagande på mässor och arbetsmarknadsdagar på högskolor och universitet. Det personliga mötet är centralt vilket fordrar att de operationellt ansvariga har kunskap om budskapet som ska kommuniceras. Att prioritera vilka aktiviteter som bedrivs skapar ett tydligare Employer Brand.
Antideutsche : Tidskriften Bahamas ideologiska intervention gentemot den tyska radikala vänstern 2001-2003
The aim of this thesis is to investigate how Bahamas, a magazine belonging to the antideutsche current in German left-wing politics, acted during a two year period between the summer 2001 and 2003. When explaining the anti-deutsche phenomena and the editors? politics it is common to take the currents own history-writing as a fact, thus presenting the development of the current as a reaction to outside factors and impulses outside. In this thesis it is stressed that the editors are far from only passively reacting, rather the opposite is true. I claim that the editors have a fixed ideology that they strive to implant in to certain parts of the radical left.

My research interest in the upcoming paper is the increased need for promotion of schools. I. e. the individual school´s needs to be able to show its existence, in the huge flow and availability of information; schools and universities, study circles, streamed lectures on the Internet, public schools and private schools, different educational directions, et cetera. The schools? needs to market itself, make good PR and sell their pedagogical idea, and that has become increasingly important. My purpose is to clarify how music teachers, in the Swedish primary and secondary school, skills and competences are used in outreach activities within but also outside, the school premises.
Hälsofrämjande åtgärder under skoltid för att öka barns fysiska aktivitet : ? en litteraturstudie
Bakgrund: Fysisk aktivitet är en viktig del i ett barns utveckling. I Sverige rekommenderas barn att vara fysiskt aktiva minst 60 minuter om dagen. Barn är fysiskt aktiva bland annat för att det är roligt, göra något de är bra på och att hålla sig i form. Många tidigare studier har dragit slutsatsen på hur viktig skolans roll i påverkan av barns fysiska aktivitet. Många skolor idag är dåligt utvecklade när det gäller hälsofrämjande åtgärder men det finns en stor potential att utvecklas.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa vad skolan har för hälsofrämjande åtgärder under skoltid för att öka den fysiska aktiviteten hos barn i åldrarna 6-12 år.Metod: En systematisk litteraturstudie har genomförts för att samla in aktuell forskning och kunskap för att få en överblick över området.
