Few would disagree that the media landscape has undergone significant changes the last decade. From bulky computers and plain mobile phones to portable High-Definition computers and multi-functional smartphones. Other media, such as newspapers and music, have evolved and prospered in a digitalized environment. The constant urge to digitalize aspects and functions of our daily lives seems almost instinctive. Television has taken further steps into this environment as it is now accepted and featured via the Internet.

I skolans styrdokument, Lgr 11, står skrivet att skolan ska ansvara för att varje elev efter grundskolan kan använda modern teknik som ett verktyg för kunskapssökande, kommunikation, skapande och lärande. Genom en kvalitativ studie, gjord på tre hem- och konsumentkunskapslärare samt 50 st elever i årskurs 8, innehållande intervjuer, observationer och enkätstudier, undersöker denna uppsats hur lärare använder IT i hem- och konsumentkunskapsundervisningen samt vilka uppfattningar som lärare och elever har till användningen av IT i ämnet.Resultaten visar att både lärare och elever är positiva till användningen av IT i ämnet hem- och konsumentkunskap, men att det främst är tiden och skolans ekonomi som styr hur det används. Även faktorer som lärarens intresse, utbildning och bristen på datorer i skolan spelar en stor roll i vilken utsträckning IT används..

With a size of 128 bits against IPv4s 32 bits gives IPv6 a huge amount of addresses to distribute. The security addition that may be added manually in IPv4 is the standard with the new protocol.

Method: Methods used are quantitative and qualitative, and the facts and figures are based on a pop up inquiry and some telephoneinterviews. I elected pop up inquiry and telephoneinterview as my data collection. My inquiry had a high grade of standardization and the interviews had a low grade of standardization. Result: On the basis of the question of issue I have drawn the conclusion that the users feels that it is important with information in all advertising. It is also important for the users to create a value around the product. The users do not have the time to figure out the message behind advertising, the want simple and massive information about the product/service.

Det vardagliga användandet av företagets söktjänst över hela världen har kommit att bli så stor att det har verbaliserats ? Idag söker vi inte information på Google, vi googlar.

The aim of this master thesis is to study if the websites of the Swedish public libraries are accessible to all people. According to the library law all people must have access to the public libraries and their information services. Today, when the Internet is one of the largest sources of information, it is important that all people, including those with different kind of disabilities, children, elderly, immigrants and people with old technical equipment, have access to the public libraries websites.We have in this study considered the graphic user interface, the language, the structure and the navigation possibilities at ten public library websites. We have from a checklist of our own, based upon the opinion of different experts such as Jacob Nielsen and Tommy Sundström, investigated the websites.The main finding of our study is that the websites are generally accessible even thou we found a lack of accessible for immigrants. Most of the websites had some pages in English, but none hade all pages in this language.

The idea to develop  a platform for a PID-controller came from the need to control the temperature in  an espresso machine in a more exact way than a thermostat could perform. In discussions with Syntronic AB the idea developed into PID-control for industrial use. Syntronic AB suggested that the platform should be based on a commercially available processor module to shorten the development time. The suggestion included the use of the microcomputer Raspberry Pi, which supports USB, HDMI, memory card and Ethernet.The work began with establishing a schedule for the 10 weeks of the projects duration, and after that a system specification listing all functions, implementation and limitations was made. When the foundation of the system specification was done, a preliminary system design took shape.Because of the Raspberry Pi´s lack of Analog-to-Digital converter, a circuit board containing Wheatstone bridges, differential amplifiers and a two channel Analog-to-Digital converter was fabricated.

The emphasize of this study is to evaluate security issues for home users having a personal computer connected to the Internet. It focus on the usage of advantages and disadvantages when using a firewall while connected to the Internet. The hypothesis is that it gives a better protection to install and use a firewall compared not to do so, due to security flaws in the operating system. The prediction was tested on a home user's personal computer. The testwork was divided into two major tests, each of them performed with, respectively without, a firewall. These major tests were divided into five smaller semi­ tests. The first semi­test without a firewall suffered from a virus or worm attack resulting in loss of data and log files.

Att nyttja Internet är för de flesta människor ett vardagligt och helt naturligt fenomen. Dock är det inte alltid i en underhållande och positiv bemärkelse som redskapet nyttjas. Syftet med studien är att försöka lyfta fram och synliggöra det växande problemet med kränkande behandling via nätet, som tenderar att bli en alltmer vanlig företeelse bland ungdomar. Grunden i studien är att först klargöra vad kränkande behandling är, och därefter hur kränkande behandling över nätet kan se ut. Vidare granskas vilka psykiska följder den utsatta individen kan drabbas av, samt hur skolan kan arbeta i ett förebyggande syfte.

Smärt och rehabiliteringenheten på Universitetsjukhuset i Linköping har efterfrågat en webbapplikation som ska fungera som ett supplement till den traditionella rehabiliteringsplanen som finns för att hjälpa patienter. Webbapplikationens huvudsakliga mål är att förbereda patienter för kommande rehabilitering och även vara ett verktyg för kommunikation och hjälpmedel både under och efter rehabiliteringen. Vårt examensarbete har gått ut på att utveckla plattformen MERIT, "Min egen rehabilitering på Internet". Plattformen är webbaserad och uppbyggd efter MVC mönstret med hjälp av PHP-ramverket CodeIgniter. Behandlare har själva möjligheten och ansvaret att skapa det material som ska delgivas patienterna på både individuell och gruppnivå.

The report is the result of a master thesis at ENEA AB during the fall of 2009. Itaims to create a specification of flash memory management system which focuseson power efficiency and low RAM usage for embedded systems, and to design andimplement a prototype of such a system to facilitate further development toward thecreated specification. The system used by ENEA today is a Flash Translation Layer(FTL). It has a complex structure which prohibits modifications and customization,therefore a new flash memory management system needs to be developed.The suggested solution uses a translation layer called Metadata FTL (MFTL), wherefile system metadata and userdata are separated from each other in order to improveperformance. The partition holding userdata uses a block-level mapped translationlayer system called Fully Associative Sector Translation FTL.

Syftet med denna kvantitativa studie är att undersöka om studenter vid Umeå universitet är medvetna om att de kan bli bakgrundsgranskade när de söker arbete och hur de gör för att skydda och framhäva sig i sociala medier och på Internet så inte studenternas digitala spår minskar anställningsbarheten. Denna studie innehåller fyra frågställningar; Är studenter medvetna om att de blir kollade och bortvalda på grund av digitala spår, vilken information väljer de att framhäva och vad tar man bort, skiljer sig detta åt mellan män och kvinnor och skiljer sig det åt mellan kunniga och mindre kunniga användare av social media och Internet. Resultatet visar på att det finns en bra medvetenhet om att de kan bli kollade men att de ändå visar upp olämpligt material. Studenterna var bra på att göra sina profiler privata men majoriteten visse inte att de inställningarna går att kringgå. Studien visar att det som mest skiljer sig åt bland könen var att männen anser sig mer kunniga och hade mer kunskap om teknik relaterade frågor.

This thesis gives the reader an understanding for newsletters within e-commerce, and how to work with them as a channel for marketing. Furthermore it explains the technical and graphical demands, and how to ensure that the newsletter reaches the intended receivers.A successful newsletter can entice people to shop, but can also help to strengthen a brand and the relationship between the customer and the company. During the writing of the thesis, it has emerged that the most important part of a newsletter (which also determine whether or not the receiver reads the letter) are the subject heading, sender, layout, headlines,images and the deregistration link.A part from working with the different parts of the letter, the sender should also be aware of the technical and graphical demands. Since the E-mail clients are looking out forimages, fonts that are not embedded in the computer, and for questionable words there?s a big risk for ending up in a spam filter when not considering the demands.
