ABSTRACTBackground: On behalf of the Orthopedic clinic, Västerås, a study has been conducted with focus on comparing the results after conservative and surgical treatment due to complete achillestendon rupture.Aim: To compare results when testing the active and passive range of motion, calf muscle endurance, estimation of pain related to the achillestendon and self-efficacy to be physically active for individuals who have undergone conservative or surgical treatment after complete achillestendon rupture.Method: 14 individuals afflicted by complete achillestendon rupture in 2010 were recruited as a purposive sample. Examination were conducted of: Ankle range of motion with a goniometer, calf muscle endurance through a toe-raise test, estimation of pain intensity related to the achillestendon by VAS and self-efficacy to be physically active through ?Exercise self-efficacy scale?. P-value and the median were calculated.Result: The results of ankle range of motion and calf muscle endurance were based on the difference between the injured and the healthy side. When testing active plantarflexion the conservative group had a median of 4 ? and the surgical group had a median of 10 ?.

Komatsu Forest AB har som mål att under framtiden producera 1400 maskiner varje år. För att kunna bemöta den ökade produktionen och säkerställa kvaliteten på produkterna som ska levereras krävs beslutsunderlag på ytor och storlek på alla avdelningar vid KFAB.Syftet med projektet var att ta fram beslutsunderlag på storleken på testyta, antal justeringshallar och antal buffertplatser för test och justeringsavdelningen vid 1400-takt. Resultatet kom att visa behovet vid en produktion enbart under dagtid samt ett resultat av behovet vid skiftarbete.För att ta fram behovet har två tidsstudier gjorts på de två maskintyperna som KFAB levererar. Tidsstudien utfördes som en klockstudie där resultatet visas i både tårtdiagram samt från balanseringsprogrammet Avix som användes som stapeldiagram. Dessa visar hur balanseringen mellan de olika förarna av maskinerna såg ut.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om ett brädspel är ett bra inlärningsmaterial för barn i förskolan och i förskoleklassen. Studien syftade även till att studera om det finns någon skillnad i resultat mellan de olika åldrarna i förskolan respektive förskoleklassen. Spelet Hälsostigen är ett egendesignat spel som är utformat av både mig och min kurskamrat. Undersökningen har utförts på 31 barn i både förskolor och förskoleklasser vid tre olika tillfällen. Innan studien startade genomfördes ett test för att få ett mått på vilka kunskaper barnen hade om kost och hälsa innan de hade spelat Hälsostigen.

The purpose of this master thesis has been to find different solutions to the design of a headlamp with a cluster of three or possibly four high power LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). During the work, two different problems have been considered; how to design a lens in order to shape the light beam in a desirable way, and how to design a cooling system which will lower the temperature of the LEDs as efficiently as possible, still taking into account the geometry set by the optical solution as well as other given geometries. The results presented in this thesis are partly the outcome of a literature study, but derive mainly from a number of tests and measurements made on two test rigs and one concept prototype..

Psykosrelaterade diagnoser är de mest förekommande diagnoserna bland rättspsykiatriskt vårdade patienter inom den rättspsykiatriska vården. Dessa patienter riskbedöms för framtida våld och i vården ingår riskhanteringsarbete, vilket sker innan patienterna skrivs ut eller överförs till annan vårdform. Syftet med studien var att beskriva dömda rättspsykiatriska patienter med psykosrelaterade diagnoser, vilka lämnat den slutna rättspsykiatriska vården vid Rättspsykiatriska regionkliniken i Sundsvall mellan åren 2005-2010. Beskrivningen fokuserades på patienternas riskbedömning för våld med HCR-20, vart patienterna hade skrivits ut eller hade överförts samt deras nya lagföringar. Patienter med och utan psykosrelaterad diagnos jämfördes med varandra.

The primary function of a mixer is to keep a fluid in constant motion. All mixing applicationsrequire varying degrees of small-scale turbulence and bulk flow. The performance of asubmersible mixer is measured by the thrust that it produces, while the strength of the bulkflow is dependent on the total amount of installed thrust.In a mixer, the fluid quickly flows past the propeller, and as a result, the current is mainlyaxial. The fluid will also obtain a rotating velocity, or a swirl, though this is significantly lessthan that of the propeller. During the process, the total amount of energy increases in the formof static pressure and kinetic energy.

Studiens syfte är att se huruvida OMX Stockholm 30 är svagt effektiv. Studien bygger på de kurser Stockholmsbörsen publi-cerar för OMX Stockholm 30. Vi har valt en strikt de-duktiv ansats. Utgångspunkten är Famas teorier om den effektiva marknaden, där vi valt att inrikta oss på den svaga formen av effektivitet. Vi genomför ett antal tester för att se ifall vi kan urskilja ett mönster i index-kurserna eller om priserna följer en ?random walk?..

Olika språk har olika ortografiskt djup och svenska språket anses som ett mer ortografiskt ytligt (regelbundet) språk än engelska språket som anses vara mer ortografiskt djupt (oregelbundet). I Sverige studerar elever det främmande språket engelska från lågstadiet. Flertalet forskare menar att det kan finnas tvärspråkliga överföringar mellan en förmåga i modersmålet och samma förmåga i det främmande språket. Föreliggande studie syftade till att undersöka avkodning (ordläsning) på svenska och engelska hos elever med lässvårigheter och typiska läsare i årskurs fyra. I studien inkluderades 48 elever uppdelat på två grupper; 19 elever med lässvårigheter och 29 typiska läsare.

It is not uncommon for math difficulties and reading difficulties to occur simultaneously. Despite this, math and reading difficulties are thought to have different cognitive profiles where math difficulties are linked to number sense; an innate ability to understand, approximate and manipulate both quantities and numerical information, whereas reading difficulties are linked to phonological ability; an innate ability to understand, create representations of and manipulate phonological information. A possible link between the difficulties is that phonological abilities also could affect mathematical ability. Support for this comes from studies where comorbid math and reading difficulties are associated with more severe difficulties in arithmetic ability compared to those with isolated math difficulties. The purpose of this study is to examine whether isolated math difficulties, isolated reading difficulties and comorbid math and reading difficulties can be linked to deficits in number sense, phonological ability or both of these, and whether comorbid math and reading difficulties differ in performance in mathematical tasks compared to isolated math difficulties for children in second grade.

This is a survey of different techniques that may be used for embedding geographicdata into web pages. Different models of GIS communication are examined and a testsubject in the form of an application is implemented and evaluated.The test application (?StudentKarta? eng. ?Student Map?) lets students submit theirresidential data and shows their position as pins on an embedded Map.An expire date is used to let the pins fade away and disappear.The application uses the popular Google map engines to display the geographicalpresentations.

Denna uppsats diskuterar hur ett användargränssnitt, anpassat till barn mellan fem och åtta år, skulle kunna se ut. Olika funktioner utav intresse vilken mobiltelefonen kan innehålla, kommer även att diskuteras. Genom test utförande och workshop, för informationssamling och inspiration, vidare genom basering utav kända och kombinerade metoder, skapas det ett digitalt koncept. This thesis has treated a three-axis robot which task is to serve a larger test machine tomove the modules to be tested, from the storage to the test site. The robot is composed ofthree linear actuators; two standard components of ball screw type and a custom-builtactuator of trapezoidal type. The work has mainly focused on the custom-built device to seeif it could be replaced with a standard component. Part of the work has been to look into thepicking tool and to see if there are any possibilities to improve its function.The report presents two different proposals which I decided to call Robot 1 and Robot 2 andthey aim to address the problems arising in the purpose-built linear unit and the X-axislinearity problems. Robot 1 focuses on eliminating the problems that arise around therobot's X-axis, with such simple means as possible and without making excessive materialchanges.

SammanfattningAtt köra en elbil kan skilja sig från ett traditionellt fordon på flera sätt. Förväntningarna från förarenmåste tas i beaktning när användargränssnittet i bilens instrumentpanel utformas.Denna masteruppsats behandlar test, utvärdering och nydesign av Huvudinstrumentet i Saabs elbilZero Emission. Huvudinstrumentet är den del av instrumentpanelen som sitter framför ratten ochinnehåller mätartavlor och andra instrument. Andra områden såsom mittkonsolen och musik- ochnavigatorsystem inkluderas inte i studien.Huvudinstrumentet testades och utvärderades med metoder, bland andra heuristisk utvärdering,Cognitive walkthrough och användartest. Användartesten utfördes i en körsimulator med hjälp avtänk-högt-metoden för att möjliggöra för observatören att följa med i testpersonen tankebanor.Med hjälp av resultaten från testutvärderingen skapades en ny design av huvudinstrumentet.Övergripande upplägg och design av individuella delar av klustret utformades parallellt.
