In Sweden, lowest acceptable haemoglobin levels in blood donators are 125g/L for women and 135g/L for men for a test sample taken in the beginning of the blood donation. Levels, which are 10g/L lower, are accepted if the sample is taken after the blood donation. Earlier studies show that the haemoglobin level decreases for a person that is lying down.The two aims of this study were to examine how much the haemoglobin levels change during blood donation and to examine if the photometrical instrument Pronto-7TM shows equivalent results to that of the established method Cell-Dyn Sapphire.In the study, 120 blood donors participated. Blood samples were taken in the beginning and in the end of the donation. Analyses by Pronto-7TM were done before and after the donation.The haemoglobin level decreased significantly during the blood donation.

Fortsatt stigande konsumtionsnivå i redan rika länder har negativa konsekvenser för miljön, ger mycket marginella välfärdseffekter och är en orsak till ett allt högre tempo i samhället. Ekonomisk tillväxt kan användas i syfte att höja inkomst- och konsumtionsnivå eller för att förkorta arbetstiden. Ur miljösynpunkt skulle det vara positivt med ett större fokus på tidsbaserad välfärd framför ständiga ökningar i materiell standard. Denna studie baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer med fem nyligen examinerade studenter angående deras nya situation som heltidsarbetande. Hur upplever de sin förändrade ekonomiska och tidsmässiga situation och hur tror de att deras livssituation skulle påverkas av minskad arbetstid? Resultatet visar att informanterna upplever höjd inkomst som positivt och minskad fritid som en negativ effekt av heltidsarbetet.

To reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologieshave been developed. Chemical Looping Combustion (CLC) is a CO2 capture technologywith the CCS framework, and at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg,Sweden, a 100 kW chemical looping combustor has been built.This project aimed to investigate to what degree air can replace helium as the uidizinggas for uid dynamical studies in a CLC cold ow model of the above mentioned 100 kWfacility. Experiments were performed using air and helium separately as uidizing gas andpressure data were obtained, which formed the basis for the comparison. The project alsoaimed to investigate uid dynamics in the uidized bed and study when the risk of sluggingoccuring was greatest. The results were presented in the form of figures and tables dividedinto pressure, concentration and standard deviation of the pressure.The results obtained showed that air as uidizing gas did not create the same uid dynamicsas helium over the entire fuel reactor.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka vilka skyddsfaktorer som främjade adoptivbarns anpassning och utveckling. Frågeställningarna utgick från barnets, adoptivföräldrarnas och omgivningen/samhällets perspektiv. De teoretiska utgångspunkterna utgjordes av ekologisk utvecklingsteori, KASAM ? det salutogena perspektivet, anknytningsteori, Erik H Eriksons utvecklingsstadier samt forskning om skyddsfaktorer för barn i allmänhet. Som metod valdes litteraturstudie där fem artiklar valdes ut för att besvara frågeställningarna.

Denna rapport beskriver processen bakom utvecklingen av ett system som hanterar bokningar av elbilar inom ett avgränsat område, exempelvis en stad som Göteborg. I Sverige finns ungefär en bil per hushåll, av dessa bilar drivs majoriteten av fossila bränslen som använder förbränningsmotorer vilket i längden innebär föroreningar i luften, samt en hög bullernivå. För att reducera dessa problem syftar projektet till att skapa ett system för en elbilspool och mjukvara för att stödja systemet. Den mjukvara projektet ämnar sig att utveckla består av en webbapplikation, en Androidapplikation samt ettAPI som på enkelt sätt möjliggör hyrning av elbilar. Med hjälp av framtagna användningsfall utvecklades mjukvaran.

The standard addresses a couple of factors that may be indications that a company can have problems with their continued operation. The problem is that ISA does not evaluate the events, which is more significant than others in the assessment, but it is up to the auditor to consider.The purpose of this paper is to describe the factors, which the auditor believes is more important than others in assessing the going concern and explain why it is so.

The purpose of this essay was to reflect on previous made research, on examining how youth?s identity is formed by living in an area that society looks at negatively. The theoretical benchmarks that have been used in order to provide a better understanding are: identity, exclusion, ethnicity and adaption. The study is a qualitative study, since there is an aspiration in increasing the knowledge and understanding, of the conception that these individuals experience, as deviants in the society. This is a literature-based study, focusing mainly on written analysis, which consists of reports, theses and case studies.

Denna studie har undersökt hur en grupp elever använder ett virtuellt rum som klassrum. Effekten blev att de lärde sig fakta med hela kroppen. Det virtuella klassrummet kan bli ett nytt pedagogiskt redskap för skolungdomar där de kan vara med och bygga upp eller påverka innehållet. Studien är en etnografisk undersökning där jag har studerat multimodalitetsteorier av bl.a. Gunther Kress i vilken man tar hänsyn till alla teckenvärldar som ljud, bild, gester och kroppens rörelse i rummet.

This thesis revolves around co-opetition and boundary spanning activities with IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) as research case. The main objective is to through qualitative interviews and a passive observation of email conversations explore how the participants of IETF experience and is affected by a double membership where they sometimes are cooperating with their competitors. Theories states that boundary spanning activities can create role conflicts for these participants when different role-senders, IETF and the employer, send incompatible expectations. We also believe that this can have a negative impact on discussions and the standard development process, which is why we are conducting the passive observations mentioned above.The result shows that the environment of co-opetition is a contributing factor to role-conflicts. These conflicts appear when participants are forced to choose between the role as an employee and the role as an IETF participant.

AbstractIntroduction: Hand Arm Risk Assessment Method (HARM) is a tool to assess the risks of deve­lo­ping complaints of the arm, neck or shoulders during manual work. The method was developed in the Netherlands primarily for employers, but is also used as an aid to work environment in­spec­tors. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the HARM-method for assessment of biomecha­nical exposure of the upper limbs when performing manual tasks as well as its suitability to be used within work environment inspection. Methods: Ten labour inspectors conducted assessments of five video-recorded work tasks. Assess­ments made with HARM were compared with those made with the Assessment of Re­pe­titive Tasks (ART) tool and with ACGIH Hand Actvity Level (HAL) - both methods for assess­ment of bio­mecha­nical exposure of the upper limbs - and with the model for the assessment of re­pe­titive work in the pro­visions of the Swedish Work Environ­ment Autho­rity on ergonomics for the prevention of mus­culo­skeletal disorders, AFS 1998:1.

The annual cost of home care services of transport in Falun/Borlänge, is now at 31 million kronor. It is clear from previous research that it is possible to reduce these costs through a restructuring of the existing home-help service. The restructuring aims to have a higher proportion of older people, who are in need of care, to live in special accommodation, in order to reduce transport costs. Therefore there is a need for systems that allow home-help service to plan their operations in such a way that transport is working as efficiently as possible. Through better planning, there are profits to be done.

Background: As a part of a national health control program, Statens VeterinärmedicinskaAnstalt performs diagnostics to screen flocks for certain pathogens causing high mortality,morbidity and/or serious economical losses. There are several viruses in the programincluding IBDV (infectious bursal disease virus), IBV (infectious bronchitis virus) and NDV(Newcastle disease virus). Method: 96 serum samples were collected from different poultryflocks in Sweden and analyzed by ELISA, which are currently used in the health controlprogram as well as by a commercial prototype of a multiplex immunoassay manufactured byLuminex Corp., which is currently under evaluation at the United States Department ofAgriculture USDA. This 4-plex assay detects antibodies for the three above-mentionedviruses as well as antibodies of avian reovirus. In the context of this study the ELISAs run inroutine diagnostics as well as a REO ELISA were used as the standard for comparison.Result: The antibody concentration in serum from vaccinated chickens was high while theantibody concentration level in serum from not vaccinated chickens was low.

Följande arbete undersöker den abnormala avvikelsen på olika företags aktiekurser i samband med respektive VD avgångar. Undersökningen utförs med syfte att hitta möjliga mönster för VD avgångars påverkan på aktiekurser, där dagen för ett pressmeddelande angående en VD avgång nämns som händelsedagen. Den normala avvikelsen utgörs av standardavvikelsen mellan aktiekurs utvecklingen för varje bolag och ett generellt branschindex under ett tio dagars händelsefönster. Den abnormala avvikelsen framförs i att forma av skillnaden mellan den normala avvikelsen och standard avvikelsen för samma variabler under händelsedagen. Undersökningen delar upp de observerade företagen i två kategorier i avgränsnings syfte, dessa två typer framförs som Typ av Avgång samt bransch.
