Det övergripande målet med palliativ vård är att uppnå bästa möjliga livskvalité för patienten och dennes familj. Vårdpersonalen måste vara förberedd både praktiskt och mentalt. Mötet mellan vårdpersonal och patienter beskrivs som en process respektive något som sker spontant. Författarna anknyter föreliggande studie till Benner och Wrubels omvårdnadsteori. Studiens syfte var att belysa det vårdande mötet mellan vårdpersonal och patienter i den palliativa vården.

Denna studie utgörs av en kvalitativ undersökning där sex stycken gymnasieelever intervjuas. Eleverna har tidigare gått på det individuella programmet och därefter påbörjat ett nationellt gymnasieprogram. Syftet med studien är att ta reda på vad som motiverar elever på det individuella programmet med fokus på hur elever uppfattar föräldrars möjlighet att påverka studiemotivationen. Respondenterna beskriver vad motivation betyder för dem och vad som motiverar dem i deras studier. Därefter läggs fokus på hur respondenterna upplever att deras föräldrar hjälpt dem i studierna samt föräldrarnas betydelse för studiemotivationen.

Participation as Pedagogy ? Imagined Race and the Exhibit of Swedish Peoples-Types.This essay will analyse and give a deeper picture of the ?The Exhibit of Swedish People-Types? by focusing on the pedagogical ideals that formed the exhibit as an participatory media. The exhibit was led by the famous race-biologist Herman Lundborg and toured Sweden in 1919 displaying the racial constitution of the Swedish population using material gathered by the public itself. The exhibit has been described as an important tool in popularising eugenics in Swedish society during the early 20th century with the ambition of gaining funds to create the first race-biological institute and to influence policy-making. Nevertheless there has not been a single study which has focused solely on the exhibit and how the pedagogical ideals that permeated it affected the relation between the public and the media itself nor the political implications of this relation.

The aim of the present literature study was to define and describe the area ?compliance in veterinary medicine? (i.e. the way treatment recommendations are being performed) and discuss the factors that influence the level of compliance. Based on the findings, a model that intended to increase compliance in orthopedic postoperative rehabilitation of dogs was designed. In the daily work as a veterinary nurse it is essential that one provides the best possible care to the animals from the beginning to the end of the treatment.

The aim of this study was to examine the perceptions within social services regarding men who are victims of domestic violence based on how gender, sexuality, masculinity and victimhood was constructed in the social workers' statements. Eight qualitative interviews were conducted with nine social workers who work within the social services and meet people who are victims of domestic violence. A social constructionist scientific approach has permeated the study and theories of gender, heteronormativity, masculinity and the ideal victim has served as the study?s theoretical views. The results of the study showed that some of the social workers ascribed men specific characteristics such as strength and fearlessness.

Hypoadrenocorticism (Addison´s disease) results from insufficient production of glucocorticoid and mineralcorticoid hormones from the adrenal glands. The disease is often difficult to diagnose in an early stage because of the multitude of associated vague clinical signs. The standard poodle is one breed presupposed to be at higher risk of developing the disease. The purpose of this study was to give a review of canine hypoadrenocorticism as described in literature, and to characterise Addison´s disease in a population of standard poodles in Sweden. Statistics on incidenceproportions by breed for hypoadrenocorticism from the database of the Swedish insurance company Agria are presented.

Den här undersökningen behandlar lärarnas tolkning av begreppet historiemedvetande. Totalt är åtta olika lärare intervjuade; hälften av dem undervisar i år 4-6 och hälften i år 7-9. Samtliga lärare som intervjuats arbetar på olika skolor i Östhammars Kommun.Undersökningen visar att lärarnas uppfattning och tolkning av styrdokumenten påverkar deras planering av undervisningen. Den visar också att frånvaron av en korrekt och gemensam definition av ett begrepp som förekommer i styrdokumenten skapar osäkerhet kring innebörd, tillämpning och bedömning. Frånvaron av en definition medför också att en fruktbar tolkning av begreppet inte kan existera och att det därmed medför svårigheter för att bedöma elevernas relation till detta begrepp, samt fördomar om hur elevernas relation till historiemedvetandet ser ut..

Tidigare studier har visat på ett gap i förväntningar mellan revisorer och bolagens intressenter. Detta förväntningsgap har lett till missnöje och bristande förtroende från samhället till revisorerna och revisionsprofessionen. I denna uppsats har tidigare studiers resultat applicerats på relationen mellan revisorn och dess klient, småföretaget, då denna relation var outforskad. Syftet med studien var att bredda den teoretiska kunskapen kring förväntningsgapet i en ny relation för att ge förslag på hur gapet kan motarbetas i praktiken. Det eventuella gapet mellan klientens förväntningar och revisorns arbete undersöktes genom semistrukturerade intervjuer, vilka avslutades med ett kontrolldokument för att förebygga eventuella missförstånd under intervjuerna.

Knowledge organization is perceived as a central, constituting activity defining the notion of libraries. Critique calling for a new theoretical foundation voiced by active researchers within library and information science concerning the current knowledge organization has been utilized as a point of departure. Specifications concerning a new theoretical foundation implied by these critiques are considered within this thesis and theory found in The Order of Things by Michel Foucault proposed as an alternative theory for understanding knowledge organization as a human science where meaning, value and representation, by which the ordering of things is possible, is acknowledged as a result of human activity and history. Thus meaning, value and representation must be perceived as dynamic. An example of implementation of the proposed theory has been achieved by the use of bibliometrics.

This study shows how two different schools use dogs as a method of education. The purpose was to find out what kind of pedagogical thoughts my informants have about children' slearning in their connection with dogs, and in which way the interaction between the children and the dogs could affect the learning ability. I also wanted to find out what kind of possibilities and restrictions the dogs could give to the education according to my informants but also to find out how the projects were financed. To be able to answer these questions I put together a qualitative study, I had four interviews with people that were involved in the projects in one way or the other. To analyse the empirical material I looked up different theories about teaching, communication, interaction and motivation.My results showed that both schools have applied the method of ?teaching dogs? as a form of resource for students with special needs.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur kön och sysselsättning påverkarpatienters psykiska mående samt förbättring efter genomförd kognitivbeteendeterapeutisk eller psykodynamisk behandling. N = 1620 deltog iundersökningen (369 män och 1251 kvinnor). Patienternas mående mättmed skalorna Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation ? OutcomeMeasure (CORE-OM) och Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) analyseradesföre och efter behandling. Sysselsättning hade en liten påverkan påmåendet innan behandling.

Due to progresses constantly being made in veterinary medicine combined with increasing knowledge in pet owners, the dogs of today gets older than before. The population of geriatric dogs is there for constantly growing, which makes them an important group of patients on small animal clinics and hospitals. As dogs age, so do their interior organs. Geriatric dogs are prone to several diseases and in this text the author has decided to focus on three of the most common: Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS), cancer and osteoarthritis (AO). All of these illnesses are incurable in dogs, but it is important to remember that they are still treatable.

The web has a broad affect on the global economy and can among other things be used for web based information systems (WIS). These systems have grown from being used as a market platform to support all activities in the work of an organisation of today. To survive in a turbulent competitive environment, companies must start to cooperate with their customers instead of just collaborate with them. Can an IT-consultant company use a WIS as a tool for keeping in contact with existing customers to attain this cooperation? A WIS could strengthen the relation between customer and supplier and through that have a possibility to increase the customer use since it can facilitate business processes and imply that services can be offered in a new way.

År 2007 anmäldes 19600 fall av våld mor kvinnor där förövaren var en manlig bekant till kvinnan. Mörkertalet är stort och våldet är ofta väl dolt bakom hemmets väggar. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa vilka kunskaper sjuksköterskan behövde för att kunna identifiera/urskilja kvinnor utsatta för våld i nära relation samt ge en god omvårdnad till dessa när de sökte till hälso- och sjukvården. Ur de granskade artiklarna utläste författarna fem teman "Urskilja kvinnor utsatta för våld i nära relation", "Att möta våldsutsatta kvinnor", "Våldsutsatta kvinnors erfarenheter av vården", "Sjuksköterskans behov av riktlinjer och utbildning" och " Sjuksköterskans inställning till att ställa frågan". Det framkom att sjuksköterskor behövde riktlinjer och utbildning/erfarenhet för att kunna identifiera och ge en god omvårdnad till kvinnor utsatta för våld i nära relation.
