Background: Performance Measurement as a management control tool has received considerable academic attention. As the number of inter-organisational relationships, such as customer-supplier relationships, increases, there is a new scope for performance Measurement as a management control tool. In order for a company to assess the effectiveness of its supplier relationships it has to define, measure and evaluate variables that are critical for the success of the relationship. The role of management control, and thereby of performance Measurement, has increasingly been discussed in theory. However, empirical research in this area is still somewhat limited.

Flow Measurement is one of the greatest challenges in order to calculate efficiency in hydropower. Most hydropower plants in Sweden use differential pressure methods for flow Measurement. These methods are dependent on constant conditions in the waterways. A change in these conditions, like turbine improvements, prevents differential pressure methods to verify efficiency improvements. Since efficiency improvements can?t be verified by one Measurement system, another method, which isn?t affected by changing conditions, can be used.

Ribs from sheep, goat and pig are rarely assessed  to species due to the fact that they are very similar in their morphology and size. The ribs are instead considered unidentifiable although it is possible to see what kind of bone it is. If these ribs would be identified to species not only would species assessment degree of archaeological source material   increase, the relationship between meat-rich and meat poor regions would change.To find out whether there are morphologically measurable differences between sheep, goat and pig ribs, three Measurement points on each rib has been defined and measured. At each Measurement point two Measurements were measured, one medial-lateral Measurement and one cranial-caudal Measurement. The ratio between the medial- lateral Measurement and the cranial-caudal Measurement was calculated for each point.

Caran has a strong belief that women leaders affect the financial profitability positive. Since women leaders are intangible resources it is very difficult to calculate its exact value. The authors found that one of their Measurement methods can’t be used to calculate the value of women leaders. The other Measurement method can calculate significance between women and men leaders and provides an index to be compared to other groups. Storing kinetic energy in a flywheel allows for more efficient driving of electricvehicles. Research in this area is in progress at Uppsala University, where a flywheelwith magnetic bearings encased in a vacuum chamber is being constructed. To makethis possible methods for measuring the current through the electromagnets in thebearings and temperatures in the flywheel need to be developed. This has been thepurpose of this report. The current Measurement resulted in a resistive method, andthe implementation of eight Measurement circuits in the system.

The dissertation were performed on SP, Technical Institute of Sweden. The dissertation were carried out on the Measurement technical department, this dissertation is a part of a bigger project, project ClampCal. One of SP?s returning assignments are flow-Measurement. When flow-Measurement is performed, the flow has to be stopped so that a meter can be installed in the pipes where Measurement is going to take place. At every stop there is time delay in the flow which causes the customers to loose money. This is why SP wanted to find a better solution so that Measurement can be done without any stops in the flow. Usage of a so-called Clamp-on meter was considered, but since the Measurement uncertainty is too large it takes some investigation on the parts where the largest uncertainties occur and thus find a solution that can diminish the uncertainty as much as possible. The parts that were considered to have an opportunity to reduce Measurement uncertainties were the fluid temperature, its characteristics and the pipe geometry and its characteristics. For the fluid temperature a Pt100-sensor with four different radii for various pipes was used.

During the late twentieth century, political and societal changes gave rise to an increased interest in performance evaluation in public organizations. This development also affected libraries in the public sector. The main concern for this master thesis is performance Measurement in libraries. In this study two different types of libraries are investigated, one public and the other academic. My aim is to find out if and how performance Measurement appears in the libraries annual activity reports.

The aim of this Bachelor´s thesis is to investigate how library statistics, performance Measurement and indicators represent the modern public library activity. During the last decades the public library has gone through a lot of changes. Information overall has increased and new technology has been introduced into the library. This new development has had effects on the library users. The statistics reported to the Statens kulturråd (National Arts Council) has not changed in the same way.

The presented data were collected through interviews conducted with four employees on Gekås. Conclusion: The study concludes that for a business with cost leadership strategy the financial Measurements are more important than non-financial meausurements. For Gekås it is important to keep the performance Measurement simple and understandable for the employees. They only use three Measurements (sales, hours and sales per hour) in planning and in evaluation.

This thesis deals with different methods for measuring moisture-related dimensional changes ofwood. Typically relative humidity is measured to determine if the ambient climate around anobject is harmful to it or not. Values between 40 to 65% RH are recommended for hygroscopicmaterials. To know how a wooden object actually reacts to changes in the surroundingenvironment requires methods that involve the object itself. Because of the wood anisotropy,differences in wood structure, finishes and other restraints, it is not always possible to predict themovements.This paper addresses various Measurement methods, primarily methods that have been testedin the field of conservation, with examples of their use.

The aim is to describe the factors that influence nurses' assessment and Measurement of pain in patients. Literature study based on 13 reviewed articles, searched in the Cinahl. Qualitative and quantitative articles were analyzed. Six themes were identified that can be seen as the factors that influence nurses' assessment and Measurement. The themes were   pain education, nurses´ experience in the profession, nurses´ level of knowledge about pain relief, documentation about pain, nurse´s perspective on the patient, and pain Measurement.

The acoustics in a control room is a complicated phenomenon. Early reflections, reverberation time and area in the room are some of the problems. This report is about the reflection on the mixing console in a control room. The control room being built, these reflections are difficult to take into consideration since the mixing console is one of the very last items you place in the room. This report will explain three main Measurements that were done in order to get the answer to the following question: Does the mixing console interfere the frequency curve at listening position? Three Measurements were done and the difference between the Measurements was that the microphone and the loudspeakers were placed in different places in the control room.
